There's not a one-person room. So the per-person costs are kinda deceptive. If you wanted a room to yourself and got the smallest one it's $4,809 for two nights.

I think the issue is that people expected a larger piece of the park to be SW dedicated and not just 2 rides and some food. In the long term it is the thing that makes more sense. I have yet to get to SW land but I will someday. I think the ride for the Millennium falcon is a bit childish looking and Rise of Resistance looks cool, but focuses on the wrong thing, the new movies.

Disney should have build the park around the original Trilogy. People want adventures with Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie. Not the new characters, and most goodwill for those characters was killed by the dumb plot of the last to movies. Give me a ride where I go through the Jedi temple and look for an artifact or a dog fight with xwings and bwings and ywings. Make it like 50 guest at a time vs 1000 AI tie fighters. I don't even think they do much with the Jedi. Which is sad. Focus on the Original and not the new. (which is not want I want for the movies by the way.....I want them to get as far away from the original trilogy as possible.)

There is some really cool novelty to the new Rise of the Resistance ride. Like I wasn't sure when the ride was really starting or ending, so it's more of an actual experience that is really cool. It must be incredibly expensive and logistically complex to keep running over and over.

That said, the whole time I was on it I kept thinking how cool it would be if it was based on being trapped in a OT-era imperial ship, or even something based on the prequels. But the fact that it was based on the new movies really soured the experience. I don't know if I'll ever ride it again but I don't particularly care to, Like if I got back again in a few years and there is no line or something like that. I had the chance to get on again but I wasn't going to wait 1 hour plus (this was despite "reserved" times).

Oh, and that has also soured me on the Star Tours. I was already annoyed when they added Naboo stuff a while back,. I only OT stuff in these rides, or at least the option to choose that. If they rethemed Rise of the Resistance to be OT I would go back in an instant.

I'm not saying this to defend them but how does this indicate they're broke? Them creating an experience within a hotel setting always seemed like it would be an exclusive thing catering to a select rich few since there's a limit on how many it can accommodate at one time, so you jack up the prices on those who do it.

From what I've seen about theme parks, there are people who will spend ridiculous amounts of money in them and that's where a huge part of their disposable income goes and that's their identity. They'll buy any and every bit of merch put up for sale. So I guess it figures Disney would pivot their focus towards whales like those and try and squeeze them for everything they can. Or just your super rich people who don't think anything of spending that kind of money. It's a pity because the audience they should be focusing in on is an average family who have maybe saved up for a couple years and this is their big vacation they've planned for. I get why it's the case but it's a pity to cordon off something that looks really cool so that only a select few can access it.

One of my happiest childhood trip memories is from the time my parents took me to the river. I hiked, played with little frogs, got in the water with the new friends I made, ate good fresh BBQ, and even developed a crush for a local girl.

I sort of feel bad for the kids who will have two nights at the Star Wars hotel as their key childhood trip memory.

Marvel hotel could have been awesome, imagine it being the avengers HQ and it comes under attack or something and you get to literally save Spiderman or something infront of your kids.

Star Tours is actually better than the Millenium Falcon ride IMHO but haven’t tried the Rise of the Resistance yet. The coolest Jedi part is building your own saber but it’s way too expensive when you can buy a better quality out of the box replica saber online or in a nearby shop. The experience is pretty badass once but at $200 it’s not exactly family friendly.

Rise of the Resistance is an immersive experience+ride. I enjoyed it. But I had to wait 12 fucking hours plus one hour in the line. Something like that.

Pretty much. Disney World has a monopoly on hotels since they own all the land around the resort unlike Disneyland where 3rd party hotels have to compete for business and luxury guests just stay at Disney’s luxury hotels on site. If you stay offsite then you have to pay for parking or take a really long shuttle ride or Uber in.

They basically have 4 tiers, Value , Moderate , Deluxe and Deluxe Villas /luxury.

heads up if you are looking for hotels not owned by Disney hit up Swan and Dolphin which is the closest hotel to Hollywood Studios as well as Gaylord Palms or the Downtwon Disney ones.
