As far as I can tell, you can't switch back to your older weapons.

This game is a hoot.

I bought a key for $24 AUD from a cdkey website. Activated in steam and it's currently preloading. (Yes, I'm aware grey market keys can be a mixed bag.) Anyway, send me a PM if you're curious to know more.

FYI, you are allowed to mention where you got the key from. Reputable CD key resellers do source their keys via legal means, after all. There's even a dedicated thread for this so-called "self-gifting".

I played a couple hours, but it's too late to go on much longer. Early impressions:

- the presentation is surprisingly good: the sense of scale, the art, the music, and voice acting are all impressive
- shit hits the fan fast, even the first few hours have been relentlessly chaotic
- space marines are fucking badass, they make the COG's look like pussies
- thud thud thud thud thud thud thud
- there doesn't appear to be a lot of variety - it's all combat - but that's fine. it only does one thing, but it does it good
- weird glitch issue: certain objects (like Titus's backpad) will occasionally be all black, like the texture never loaded

TL;DR - it's a fucking badass game so far. I look forward to continuing it tomorrow, I'll probably check out the multiplayer.

The lack of reviews are disturbing... But I trust Relic and GAF (and with you guys who have the game already are such a tease!!!)

I'd probably go console on this one and double-dip on the PC later on. ;D

Edit:

One question... to those who got the Legion Skin pack from a pre-order - can you use it on SP or it's just for use on MP?

Just put in 3 hours into the campaign and so far my only complaint is that the checkpoint spacing is pretty harsh. Other then that it's amazing. The weapons are *so meaty* holy shit.

The multiplayer (on PC) seems borked. I've been sitting in the matchmaking queue for like 20 minutes, it says there are 50 viable games for me but it won't actually stick me in one.

I got it for the X360 and it runs&looks great. What a great job with the environments, tones and overall feel--barely touched the surface of the game so far. The MP customization alone is going to take a big chunk of my life, lol!

Tonight some SP and tomorrow str8 to MP so there are more friends online. The day is finally here.

Played it for about 3 hours straight and it's awesome. I do have the feeling though that they've exaggerated when they said it's 10 hours long, I'm at the beginning of Chapter
8 out of 16.

Gonna hop into some multi now.

Haven't seen an issue with the checkpoint system myself. Finished chapter 7 and time to call it a night though. The combat feels right, the weapon variety is excellent, and no ranged option has felt useless. Ammo seems spaced out just right too.

Game is a ton of fun but yeah I'm also having trouble with the matchmaking, hopefully it gets fixed and a PC multiplayer community develops because it seems like it would be a lot of fun in multiplayer.

Also, definitely loving the fact that it rewards you for charging into melee (only way to earn back health) without making it overpowered.
