Really need to know something about AC3 and BO2 before I make a decision. This review embargo is goddamned idiotic especially since those games have been released on other platforms already.

I think the estimate is about an hour to an hour and a half for most people.
Charging it before hand really isn't necessary.

Ubi and Activision probably don't have a lot of reviewcopies of those titles, because you can get them already on other platforms. Here in Belgium, we recieved a lot of Ubi stuff from the Wii U, but they didn't had AC III.

This got me curious, so I took a look, they're going for about $500-$900. ($500 is for a straight up auction, $900 is a buy it now on another auction.)
My Gamestop both texted and called me yesterday to let me know mine will be ready for pickup today. I remember pre-ordering it, but I don't remember paying it off. According to GS, though, I paid it in full back in October. So I'm kind of torn. On the one hand, I don't want to cancel it, on the other hand, if I pick it up, I won't want to sell it, and on the third hand, money is tight, and if my wife finds out I bought a new console, (even though it was back when money wasn't tight,) she's going to be very annoyed with me.

I had zero to low interest for one and now that's it out I want a Deluxe + New Super Mario Bros U
same. i get so hyped for launches and want to go buy a WiiU really badly now, even though there is only one game I want and nothing good in the near future for the console.
if you cancel a preorder don't they just give you store credit anyway? the money is spent my friend

Only played a little bit of Nintendo Land and really enjoyed the Balloon Fight game. Could anyone comment on how ACIII on the WiiU runs performance wise? I heard the other versions have bad frame rates.

I don't think the prices will move in one direction or the other until later today or tomorrow. The supply and demand for the Wii U haven't really worked themselves out yet. I'd expect prices to go up if at the end of the day stores are sold out and there were a lot of people who wanted one who couldn't get one.

Well, Gamestop doesn't open for another 2 and a half hours, I wonder how many of my virtual console games I can have downloaded onto my system memory before then so that I can make the VC transfer TROLFOLFOFLFOL FUCK

Must be nice... Mine took over an hour...My update seems to be going relatively fast compared to what people are saying they are getting, then again I am probably one of the few use the Wii lan adpater with their WiiU to have a wired connection.
Then i had to update again just to use netflix......
Well, I went to the Target in Lewisville, TX at 7:30 and there were three people there. At 8:00 the manager came out and told us he had 3 Deluxes and 2 Basics. I thought about leaving because I just knew the three dudes in front of me were going to get all the deluxes, but lo and behold #2 in line wanted a white one! Woo!
So now I've got my deluxe and a basic preordered and paid off at Gamestop.
If anyone in the DFW area is interested in a white Wii U, hit me up.

I was able to pick up my system without issue. BestBuy really made the process more of a hassle than it needed to be. There were probably about 80 people waiting, half with preorders, and only 3 of those just waiting (!preorder) got consoles. They could have easily made it so preorders just came at 11:30 and cashed outright away, but instead decided to make it an anxiety fueled couple of hours. I guess it's OK now, but they need a better policy or upgrades to their sales-children.
So far the best Wii U related story this week

I have never had a preorder at Best Buy go smoothly. Half the time I give them the order number or the receipt and they still can't find it.

Quick question for anyone who has gotten their console from Best Buy already. I have a Basic pre-ordered and confirmed for pick up, but I'm thinking about trying to get a Deluxe if they have any extras. For people who hit Best Buy at midnight, did they have a bunch of Deluxe models to sell or was it really limited stock? My store opens at 11 and I was just curious what the chances were of walking in and snagging a Deluxe model in place of my Basic pre-order.
