Despite being a Nintendo freak, this will actually be the first of their home consoles I'll get on launch. We never had much money growing up, but now I earn my own I can finally partake!

it's terrible. Terrible, mate, terrible. Awful. Bollocks.

I haven't feel this hyped since the Snes. Goddamned Nintendo

I need to go to Miiverse and create Welcome mats for you guys :)

Dang, gmail must be a bit much for the browser. Resulted in my first hard lock trying to open a contact list.

For the past 8 months my Safari has had issues using gmail I cannot even load my emails using it. Guess what Safari is Webkit so is the Wii U browser.
Google must be blocking Apple stuff on purpose. I use chrome now to view my emails.

So I finally got around to transfering my Wii shit to my Wii U. Everything was going great put the SD card in my old Wii and it shoots up real quick but then stalls at 70% and its been that way for an hour now. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

So the question prevails: Will Europe be brave enough to start a obscene drawing trend? :p

I hope so

myself, I'm planning a thri-daily strip of shite quality. I already tried it with Swapnote and noone gave a flying fuck, so the motivation is up there!

I'll like to see if they also have enough mods to follow Europe and AUS humor.

but yes post are easily deleted by mods so I don't think it will be that easy to get your funny crude drawings up for long

Oh god it just occurred to me that I might not have enough slots left to accommodate EU friends.

Might have to start pruning...

I find it hilarious that people think they can just patch in a fix to eliminate or drastically diminish the load times in between screens. They're obviously there in the first place due to some system limitation and even if they could fix it, it'd most likely involve a complete overhaul of the OS.

Dont be silly of course they can optimise, didnt the os footprint on the ps3 get smaller over time. I have little doubt that they were under the gun to get this out and can in the future optimise the os with patches.

Anyone know if the zelda ss save is copyable?.

Unless Nintendo updates the friends list to 200 or 300 I might just use other accounts on my Wii U for specific games.

I have not been adding many people but if I already hit 32/100 in a little over a week and a half

I should hit my limit by Japan launch

Well I guess the only thing to do is shut this down and try again but I'm really worried I will lose all my Wii stuff. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. I am trying to transfer my Wii content to my Wii U. I put the SD card in my Wii and it went up to 70% and has been at 70% for well over an hour now. I'm just not sure what to do any help would be greatly appreciated.

English humour doesn't feature cocks for the most part so I'm all set!

I really hope this is not the case and it can be improved otherwise that could get extremely annoying a few months from now.

I fully expect a fix in the code
It may be possible. It's obvious that the OS was just recently finished. Priority was likely on being functional over speed for now. I have faith it will improve with time, but won't get invested.

You don't have to friend everyone it seems... you can follow 1000 people :)

I just saw a drawing of a pile of shit put it was shaped like the doodoo you find in the Pikmin Mini Game when a monster eats you and shits you out. Nintendo Land gives you an in :)

it was rushed since we got that thread with the hacked into Miiverse, no wait this thing was not rushed out the door. They fixed that easily but still.

The fixes may come after the launches have settled a bit or even with the next batch of updates in december

Nevermind this crap is so freaking frustrating the way Nintendo approaches anything online related is just awful. Slow, clunky, pointless and sometimes just flat out stupid. I'd love to chuck this gaming pad at Reggie's fat head. I will continue this meltdown away from from the keyboard.

After playing around with my WiiU for a big chunk of today, I can say I dig it. I already like it more than the Wii. Really dig the gamepad, and I'm gettin' hooked on ZombiU.

I am looking forward to it :)

I want everything as fast as Miiverse, if not faster!

okay Miiverse is addicting... I got caught up in a convo and it just leads to more and more comment posts and replies

you should be able you 'Yeah' comments because some great drawings get lots in comments

the Obama thread that was just locked gave me an idea.

What if the White House gets a Wii U and Obama gets on Miiverse just like twitter and becomes the first to get 1 million followers?

I wonder if Miiverse could really take off it they have celebrities to follow on Miiverse, only time will tell if Nintendo tries to get them on.

Just like GAF!

well I thought the guy was a gaffer but seems not... but there was a gaffer replying as well

GAF was addicting day 1. Long passed the crack habit and became a way of Life.

I saw GameSpot's review for Assassin's Creed III and I was pretty curious about the issues Kevin Vanord mentioned in his review.

I beat the entire game on the Wii U the other day and none of the things he mentioned happened to me in the game. He also cited AC3 on the Wii U having hard lock problems when really that's a problem with the console that IIRC, is going to be addressed.

I left a comment on the review hoping he replies back, because I'm really confused - not by the score, but the one paragraph describing the issues. I'm wondering if they downloaded the software patch or not prior to - because I legitimately did not see the same problems as mentioned in his review.

I'm borrowing Nintendoland from a friend. I'm gonna get Mario, and thinking about my own copy of Nintendoland and Zombi U.sound good? Not interested in Multiplatform games I can get on my PC, with the exception to Scribblenauts Unlimited. Don't know if I should get it for Wii U or wait for it too go on sale on Steam.

Well, this guy said that the Wii U was the best version, and I ain't one to argue with that tag.

This probably isn't the right thread for this, but I've been playing Twilight Princess and while it does indeed look somewhat better on Wii U, it still has some of the same issues that the IQ had coming from the original Wii. Namely, those bizarre "dots" that appear in linear formation against certain colors or patterns. Anyone know what I'm even talking about?

I'm wondering if I could calibrate my TV in such a way that it would help eliminate some of those visual terrors, but I wouldn't want to calibrate it in a way that only benefits a case like this.

So Im picking up my Wii U tonite with Zombie U and NSMBU. Thinking about a third game but not really sure what to get. Any recommendations GAF? I'm thinking maybe COD, ME3 or Sonic racing. They seem to be the least gimped ports?

I personally would save the money for some eShop games. Little Inferno is a fun distraction to satisfy the pyromaniac in all of us, and Nano Assault Neo is a crazy STP.

Depends on what kind of game you like and stuff - I mean those are 3 VERY different games :)

I had a lot of fun playing ME3 on PC, it may be a bit less fun with just the interactive comic telling the stories of ME1 and 2, but in the end ME3 would still be fun. And being able to tell your other party members where to go on the Gamepad would be very useful, I never used that feature on PC because it was just a hassle there. Some people think that a Mass Effect Trilogy might eventually come to Wii U, since it's coming to both PS3 and XBox 360, you may want to hold off a bit and see if something like that gets announced.

I got Sonic Racing on Wii U, that's a great game to play on the Gamepad away from the console, and its multiplayer works perfectly, though there aren't a lot of Wii U people playing it yet. Note that Sonic Racing has a bug in the latest version that eventually keeps you from progressing on the main single-player mode without a workaround (the developers have fixed the bug, we are just waiting on the patch to go through the submission progress and stuff).

And COD is...COD. Basically exactly like the other platforms, with a slightly lower framerate at times. VERY good multiplayer, and allows you to do local multiplayer without split screen (one player on Gamepad, one on TV).

Finally got a chance to play ME3 on Wii U tonight. Using the pad to tell squadmates where to go is useless. Anything that pulls your eyes off the screen is a gimmick you don't want or need. Calling out powers by memorizing their spot on the pad is better, but still not something I used much. The real killer feature is playing on the pad. Screw 3DS and Vita, playing ME3 on a portable screen is the ultimate gaming portable experience. Sure you cant really leave your house with it, but who cares. There's some odd audio issues from time to time, but otherwise it feels a lot like the 360 game minus your decisions from all the way back to ME1 being referenced. I didn't get to play much multi (just 4 out of 11 waves), but it was smooth enough. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone with a Wii U that wants a long, involved RPGish shooter.

Yeah for sure, definitely picking up Nano and Trine from the E-Shop. Was wanting another retail game though.

Thanks Bacon, sounds like ME3 is decent. Is the framerate, for the most part in parity with the 360 version?
