Anyone tried wired internet yet through a LAN adapter? Or, is the wifi fast enough on it?
First impressions:
The demo section only has Fifa in it for now. You select the game and the have to select additional infos to download the demo.
Lovefilm doesn't start and right now isn't downloading.
Its funny how fast you can switch back from the eShop to the system menu. It's instantly. If thats possible, the rest should speed up as well.
NSMBU now downloading, estimate is over an hour for 1.7 GB. Will take longer than the system update. Also 60 EUR - Only did it, because no retailer has it for 50 right now and I will get 6 EUR back on it. Full price online is a joke though. Whenever possible I'll get DL-Codes in stores cheaper if possible.

8.28 hours left until EU launch. Well, at least here in Sweden. I don't have money to purchase the console though, but it's gonna be nice to see sales figures and such.

Unlimited was the maximum(Theatrhthym).
I don't think I've ever played a demo more than 10 times, to be honest.

I have. And I'd more than likely play the Rayman demo more than 10 times if it released today and the game wasn't out until March. Demo limits are moronic, but completely consistent with how Nintendo does shit their own stupid way.

Wouldn't that be up to the developer? I mean, this is EA we're talking about. They could opt for unlimited number of plays, couldn't they?
Bergsala, the Nordic distributor, sent out an email to stores saying that it's "extremely important" that nobody sells the systems before tomorrow. Why? Because if someone tries to get online in Europe before tomorrow, Nintendo will track down their ip-addresses and ban them from using the Nintendo Network...

Heck, same goes for the XBox as well. You only hear about Sony and little else.
So I never had any problem picking up hardware on launch day at all.
Yet when I was at the store, the lady behind the counter told me that I was lucky I preordered one as they already sold out of their normal systems.
They only had 3 left, which were all preordered as well.
Could be due to the good price for the system and games at the store though. 330 for the premium pack and 50 for NSMBU. For anyone interested, the store is called Fun.

Since my Wii U is underway now (yay!), one question:
I have a Wii with some stuff on the console and a lot of things on a SD card. Do I need to copy everything from the SD card to the Wii before I migrate everything to the Wii U or can I just to the transfer and then use the SD card with the Wii U, as I did before with the Wii?

That's the point, demo limits are never ok. They're just anti-consumer. Much like the account system. If you're not going to play a demo more than 2 or 3 times, then why bother putting a limit on it at all? To ensure some little kid that can't afford your game yet can only play it X amount of times before it disappears? It's just dumb.
As for deleting it and redownloading, that doesn't work.

I assume that the HBC also gets deleted from the original Wii if you transfer the other data to the Wii U?
I don't need it on the Wii U, but i sure as heck wouldn't risk losing it on the original Wii aswell :\

Tried about 4 now, also changed the fuse in the plug just in case... Nothing :-(
It won't let u go into system settings or run the now downloaded update without the gamepad :-(

Damn, that sucks. When mine did that I thought for sure I had ended up with a bad unit so I count myself very lucky. Waiting sucks though.

I called Nintendo today and after many attempts they finally just told me to unscrew cover on back, unplug battery for 10 seconds and plug it back in.
Won't work. The 3DS and assuming the Wii U as well knows if you've downloaded the demo before. So if the demo has 10 tries and you play it three times and delete it the next time you download it you'll start with 7 tries left. Going to assume demos tries are system based so trying to use different NNIDs as a go around isn't going to work. Mainly because any NNID on the system can play a game bought and downloaded from the eShop.
It's nothing definitive, but when I did a quick search on Twitter, there seemed to be people who were also missing Nintendoland. Also, this site has found a few other people with the same issue. (I have no idea if Nintendolife is a banned site here so I'm not sure if that URL will work.)
I've let Eurogamer know and they said that they'd have a look. I've asked it on the discussion boards of Amazon as well. I really don't want to have to return it if I can avoid it, so I'm waiting to see if other people have the same problem before contacting Amazon customer service. I'm also waiting for Nintendo to respond.

Every Walmart has Wii U in stock in my area. Went to one personally last night and saw stacks of unsold systems. Seems like a hit.

The purpose of any demo is to have people sold on the full-version of the game, not to act as a substitute for the real thing. If you need more than 10 tries, obviously you're sold on the game. It's one thing if the full version hasn't been released yet, another thing if it has and you're just too much of a cheapskate.
