I do not understand how ZombiU got some really low reviews

Been playing it all afternoon and it's fucking awesome

For some reviewers at least, it's not Left 4 Dead apparently / they didn't know what survival horror is.

Welcome to the club. Game is fantastic.

I plan on getting it(dudes at Gamestop were very high on it too) but I really hope it does well sales-wise or well enough for a sequel.

I haven't played a single minute of the game but I can tell there were many untapped ideas that were left on the table or in the minds of the developers as they did have a "deadline".

System update or game update? When I was doing my system update I got at least 5 errors. If it didn't save progress I'd still be trying to update.

Connected to the wireless router (which is closer) instead of to the modem, couldn't do that before because it kept giving me errors that it was using the same IP adress. Just tried it again after resetting the router and it works now. It's finally updating.

I'd like to know which side the wiiU exhausts hot air when standing on its side, so I can arrange them efficiently.
Check out the Iwata Asks:

The arrow seems to indicate that it pulls in air from the right side (the bottom for Deluxe with stands) and pushes air out the back.

Notice the picture has the black tabs that would lock in the stands' notches. Similar to the tabs/wheels on the Gamepad charger and the notches on the Gamepad.

Haven't played a game yet but did the update and made an id..,

Home with the miiplaza is jaggy ad fuck. I hope the game is smoother ( mario) but i'll find out tonight.

System is sloooooiq. But i love the nintendo friendly interface.

I think i will enjoy it. Love the gamepad.

Does anyone know how to add more than one Mii in Nintendoland? Got my Mii as the main account, then imported my wife's too (from 3ds) in Nintendland only mine shows up, anyone know how to fix that?

The service will launch in December, and all your purchases since launch will be honored.

This site will be the portal: http://ddp.nintendo.com/

Also note that the method of earning *usable* points isn't obvious. For every download purchase, you get 10% of that purchase price back, with fractional points dropped (not rounded). So, if you buy a game marked as $49.99, you will have 499 points. But here's the kicker: you can only use points in multiples of 500. For every 500 points you apply to a new purchase, you get $5 off the purchase price. So that $49.99 game you just bought isn't enough to get a discount on the next game, you must buy another. Get another $49.99 game, and now you have 998 points - enough to get $5 off your next purchase with 498 points remaining. Good luck ever actually using the points from that first purchase.

It has nothing to do with Left 4 Dead. I know what survival horror is. This is survival horror with some of the shittiest controls ever implemented in a game. Clunky as hell. It's not bad because it's not a shooter. It's bad because it's bad. The game is definitely polarizing, but let's not kid ourselves that people who don't like it simply are confused about what type of game it is.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
My Wii U and Games have finally been marked as dispatched.
Just hope I'm not one of the unlucky ones that doesn't get the console without Nintendo Land (according to a site you Go to, that's happening a lot with Amazon orders.)

You've not played many survival horror games I take it.

I've just checked on MetaCritic, there's a batch of new reviews around: Mighty switch force has atm the highest score overall, besides Trine 2, Mass effect 3 and Nano assault have been freshly reviewed as well.

Gamespot definitely was. Their review basically complained that the game was too slow and didn't have enough fast shooter action, except in multiplayer. They even complained about the resource management that you have to do in the game.

Playing NSMBU while watching Young Apprentice on the TV. I love this console ^__^

Brilliant. This is exactly when I'll be making the most use of the Wii U. My wife has got the telly on and my 3 week old daughter is fast asleep. No access to my PS3 in this scenario, but the PERFECT conditions for some Wii U gaming!

Try putting the console in the bathroom.

Notice it starts to jitter after a certain distance through a wall and into kitchen.

Is it literally just streaming video and audio like PS3 to PSP?

Played some Nano Assault Neo, the first four clusters, great game! If you are unsure about it, watch some HD gameplay here. If you don't want any more recordings in general, please tell me.
Can't you use real dollars to make up the difference? Use 499 points and pay whatever extra to a card?
I spotted an option saying "Pay the rest with your credit card" but I don't know if that applies to paying with points and money.
if you plug headphones into the gamepad whilst playing on a tv, do you get the audio that is being output to the tv, or just the gamepad specific audio that would usually come out of the gamepad speakers?
Good idea, gonna test that!

What a conundrum.

can I ask what kind of house you have? I know it's a strange question, but I can't find any concrete impressions for how good range is in brick houses like those in the uk.

I'm thoroughly expecting shittacular wireless performance in UK houses.

Seems to be the case that the Wii U was largely tested with Japanese and American style wood based housing.

Our houses are all concrete and shit.

this is my worry. I can move the wii u around, that's not a problem, but I would like to sit it in my bedroom and be able to use the gamepad downstairs. maybe that's an unrealistic expectation given what our houses are made of, but I remain hopeful of being able to do it until it's confirmed otherwise.

I can use it in the living room and the bedroom next to it and thats about it. Can't get a signal from upstairs in my house.

My god the surround sound with the GamePad. At first touch I know I'm loving it :)

I dtarted transferring all my Miis from the 3DS.

I skipped the update, will it download in background if I start playing a game?

So yes, you seem to only get the specifig sound, but you will always get the full sound I believe. But it depends of course on the game. If you switch to OTVP in Nano Assault Neo, you will have the full sound. If you play it on the TV then there is no sound at all coming from the headphones. Playing Nintendo Land it will give you the specific sound and the music on the TV will still play.

It is already downloading in the background. You can start a game, it won't stop downloading.

Received my Premium today from amazon.de. Plugged everything in, created 2 Miis and now it's update time (~60% percent done). The pad and console look and feel nice. My first and main complain after about 15 minutes of playing around with the Wii U are the extreme long loading times between the menus - especially when compared to the Wii. I hope Nintendo can improve some of those in the future.

sad to see it confirmed, but I remain hopeful. even if it is completely delusional.

Sounds right.

All UK buyers should set their expectations REAL low.

you would think that nintendo would take uk houses and their make up into consideration when developing the gamepad.

bloody cardboard housing in the us and japan. build some real houses. gah.

EU guys you need to post some pics of the eShop demo areas and your Miiverse

I want to know if it is the same Miiverse we see, Same communities?
You have Puddle so does Puddle have a community which right now the US miiverse does not?

happy gaming!

same here. My expectation is only that I can use the gamepad in the same room as the console. That's good enough, though. Although bedroom would be nice...

Also, my stupid Media Markt refused to give me the console today.

Yes to the Puddle community. But you can change the region of the communities. Just choose Europe and Oceania at the top next to Communities. There is no special demo area. Yes, you can choose Wii U demos at the bottom in the eShop, but it will first show you the full priced FIFA 13 game. You have to select view details or whatever it is in English and then you get the "download the demo" button.

Edit: Maybe nothing new, but when you access the eShop from within a game, it will take you to the respective eShop page of said game.
Quick question, when does the plaza thing fill up with Miis who aren't from Nintendo?
I think that when you have played a certain amount of attractions, Monita will tell you that there are Miis from people all over the world.
