Awesome. What did they add?

nothing, change the layout again moved everything around... maybe they are still updating

but there is a Top 20 chart you can look at Popularity seems like Trine 2 is winning which is odd. (not sure if the list had the Sorted by choices before)

can't find demos.

Trine 2 is one of the best indie games out there, nothing odd about it. :p

But yeah, last I checked it was sitting at third behind ZombiU and NSMBWiiUUUUUU.

Just noticed that on the Nintendo ID setup, if you are under 13, you need to use a parents email address. Does that have to be unique or can it be one you already used for yourself?

Updating my console, didn't bother to hit cancel to grab it in the background since I need to clean up the house a bit on my day off. I love the aesthetics of the gamepad. Looking forward to jumping in to the machine proper within an hour or two.

Anyone have experience with USB powered external HDDs for their Wii U? I'm sort of interested in picking up one, but really don't have to deal with unplugging it and turning it on and off. Figured USB powered variants would work better, just leave it plugged in. But it looks like it needs to be powered by a USB Y cable to work on the Wii U?

I just played Mario, and realized I didn't play it on the TV. My natural attraction is to play it on the GamePad. Maybe I'm a handheld guy, but I expect people will more likely play games looking at the screen they have in their hands.

I knew the game would look great but I am surprised at how fun it is as I never played any of the games before.

I have two downloaded games, Trine 2 and Little Inferno, both have turned out more than good.

Thanks for the Add on Miiverse.

yes Y cable. I have a powered one so I am plugged it all the time. Does it not stuff off when my Wii U is off? Since my Wii U and TV are both plugged in all the time I did not think it as an issue for the HDD.

I just reached Soda Jungle today. I play Mario on both depending upon the situation. If I have the TV dedicated to myself I play it on my TV. It looks fine on the WiiUpad, but it *really* looks nice on my Plasma TV.

I still need to get Little Inferno. Once I finish Mario and my attention falters on Nano Assault Neo I'm going to look into getting it.

Well fucked if I know how this paper weight is supposed to connect to the internet. Connects to the router fine after I've input all my settings correctly. Internet? Nope.

This was my problem there are links to solutions but getting that second check was always an issue so I always call my ISP and give them the MAC ID for the hardware to make sure you are always connected

Found this on the web..Maybe it will help with your paper weight :)

1. Go into connection types, Hit "Manual Configuration"

2. Input your SSID

3. Input the correct security type, this is key.

4. Put your password in properly

5. For ip address "Do not auto obtain".

6. open up cmd in your computer, type in ipconfig

7. Now input that ip address but add 10 to the last number so "192.168.0.1" will be entered as "192.168.0.11"

8. Enter the rest of your info inside such as subnet mask and default gateway exactly as you see it in your ipconfig.

9. Now hit next, hit configure now for your DNS. When asked about DNS hit "Dont auto obtain".

10. For the first server put in 8.8.8.8

11. For the second server put in 8.8.4.4

12. Hit Next, when asked about a proxy hit no proxy

13. Leave mtu as the default

14. it should work, if not check the ip and that it is the internet ip + 10. Good luck

I am assuming that USB powered HDDs turn off when the Wii U does, unless the Wii U keeps USB ports powered when it is off somehow. The external HDDs I have seen all have power switches on them to turn off (stop spinning) when they're no longer in use, would like to avoid that behavior because I'm lazy.

Anyone had problems installing the patch? I've tried five times and it is becoming a joke... It downloads and then just gets an install error after a while....

well I meant my plugged in HDD turning off. But I did not want to go with Y cable because the Wii U only has so many USB ports I'll need the other when DQX comes if it supports a keyboard I hope

How many will you need? Wii U has two USB in the front and two in the back. Y cable would eat up the two back, leaving two in the front.

I've been avoiding playing NintendoLand due to it having the most hard lock up issues so far but reading this thing had night time music and unlockables I am so behind the rest of you guys

Yeah, or at least it seems to be an overscan. I haven't tried any games yet.

Games do it too. Mario was cutting off a good chunk of the TV play-area as well. My TV had a setting I could adjust to mitigate the Wii U's failings. Seriously, though, why is this not an issue with PS3 and 360 but it is with Wii U? To answer your question, there's no universal adjustment. Some apps do have screen settings. I believe the browser is one of them, and also Netflix. My best advice to you is to make sure your TV is set to display the image it's being sent without adding anything to it (ie dont use Letterbox mode etc. Set your TV to Full/Just/Native (whichever your TV maker uses to signify this mode).

I'm curious for this too. Also can I play nsmbu with the game(using the controls but turn the screen off in order to save battery?

Afaik, no when you turn the screen off, it just sits there waiting for you to push any button to turn the screen back on.

Such a waste of battery in NSMBU single-player since whats on TV is exactly the same as whats on the gamepad. Hopefully it can be patched in soon.

Your TV overscans, the Wii U does nothing wrong in this situation. My Panasonic Plasma needed no adjustment.

My friend's list says Marc^o^ is online playing (Demo) FIFA 13

now that bugs me I want a (Demo) too

why the hell is this thing Region Lock? Now I wonder if I can play a game together with EU/JAPAN friends if the list is going to allow what they have been playing to show

Got my Wii U.

I can play via gamepad in EVERY room in my flat!! Gonna play some sonic racing in bed!

good times!!!

Do you get a good signal around a wall? I've found with a direct line of sight the WiiUpad streaming is great. Get around a corner though and I'll lose the signal.

Lucky :p

In my Bungalow i can reach to the edge of the adjacent room before it gives up, all the walls are solid breezeblock/brick though instead of plasterboard.

I would say my range is about 20 foot from the console when passing through internal walls, will not go through cavity walls sadly.

Or just setup the connection manually, use a static IP and copy your ISP DNS settings

Edit: add me - mrklaw. (There is a thread here somewhere..)

I did that last night. Was really really disappointed with how Sonic Racing looks on the pad. Mario and Nintendo Land look really nice and colorful. Sonic looks washed out, muddy, and drab, which makes driving cleanly harder than it should be.

some of the drawings on miiverse seemed machined because no way a human can get lines so sharp on glass with a steady hand

I need to find out how they do that
