Yeah Im going to download Nano Assault and Trine 2 as well. And I still have plenty of Wii games.

How is TankTankTank? Good buy at the $15-20 level?

I gave it a 4,5 out of 10. Def. should be a cheap downloadgame. The problem isnt so much in the gameplay: its very simple but thats OK for a fun arcade game. The problem is that the mission mode (were you unlock everything, the main mode), is effin boring. Every six to seven levels you have to get tons of medals to unlock the next missions. And getting tons of medals means replaying all the previous levels for the thousand time. Levels that weren't that exciting to begin with.

the benefit of owning one console is I can spend on games I would be broke if I was doing the same level of buying for 3 consoles smh... I feel insane already :)

If TANK! x3 was $14.99 on eShop I would have gotten it. I don't want to force anymore disc games

Yay! Another Nano Assaulton

Ziggo in The Netherlands.

I can connect any device (PS3, PSP, smartphone, laptop) just fine. Hell even the original Wii. But somehow not this thing.

Yeah, I just tested my Wii a couple of days ago (even had an update running just fine) and set up my 3DS connection all new earlier. Everythings fine except this thing.
Ima give it some other tries over the weekend (maybe including system reboots, seems like that was help to some) - otherwise I must probably buy that LAN adaptor from Nintendo... anyone has experience with that? Can I just take the cable that connects my modem/router with the PC and put it into the adaptor instead and it works? Also, does it support USB extensions? - thing looks like it's short as fuck.

Fuck this, this always happens with Nintendo for me. First online tries on my DS/Wii were equally bad, but at least it wasn't essential back then.

Honestly if it won't connect this weekend I'm sending this thing back. My friend is also with Ziggo and he could connect just fine. I'm not dealing with this shit and buying another item just to connect to a basic wireless internet connection. For fuck sake, even my €100 e-reader can connect to my wireless network, and yet this €350 console can't? Give me a break.

got it!

Bought it at a German Media Markt for 339€, and Mario for 49€.

Not as good as the French or Dutch price, but ok.

Didn't pick up Tekken Tag 2 after all, as the UK version is about 30€ cheaper! So I will order there eventually.

PS: it was the last one Premium bundle there (I had it reserved). Only two ZombiU versions left.

My first thoughts too. Doesn't really help me in the long run though, I really need my Monster Hunter online play in March.

i've yet to actually try it but from weird connection problems i've had in the past maybe try these out (one by one):

-log into your router and find what the IPs of your already connected devices are. then pick a number for the last digits that is close to one of those but different for your Wii U. if they are all in a certain range try to pick something in the middle (some routers have restrictions on it being >64 or something).

-set the wii u dns to the IP of your router

-set the wii u dns to google dns (8.8.4.4 or 8.8.8.8)

-find which device is your wii u on your router, and assign it a fixed ip address (the same as the one you give it in the Wii U config).

I wonder what the connection issues stem from? It's almost as if most can connect, and then the DNS servers aren't being relayed properly to the console. I also had no issues with my Cisco E4200 on Tomato firmware (WPA2 AES/TKIP). The wifi in the Wii U is very powerful too. I have the system in the TV cabinet quite a distance from the router and I still get an excellent signal/bandwidth.

I hope Nintendo invests some big bucks into their network infrastructure soon, because it's only going to get worse with each new console that gets connected.

How do I do the last item on your list? I'm already in my router menu, but I can't seem to find the option assign a fixed ip address to a device. I have a Cisco EPC3925 EuroDocsis 3.0.

If it was just downloading you'll be fine. My update failed as well and I just cancelled out the dialogue and it reinitiated the download from the same spot. No problems. I only crashed once during browser usage so far due to a gmail compatibility issue.
Sounds good. I hope it works when I get home, or else...

it depends on your router so i'm not sure, but if you put the ip address of your router into a web browser you should be able to log into it (you might need to search online to find the username and password).

then usually you can see which devices are connected to your wifi. figure out which is your wii u (might have to turn stuff off or check which ips other devices are using), and there should be some kind of option to assign it an ip.

it really just depends on your router though and it might not even have that feature so i'm afraid i can't be of much help.

Got mine delivered about 30mins ago. Doing the system update now. I'm off out soon anyway, so I'm not that bothered about the length of time it takes to update.

I'll set up everything else when I drunkenly stumble in during the early hours of the morning. :D

quick question, how long do you charge the gamepad during the initial charge? I don't see it mentioned anywhere. is it the standard 10 hour charge like most rechargeable batteries?

got the official screen protector from nintendo, i didn't see any other pictures of it in this thread so i thought about posting some:

sorry about the image quality

seems like they are using a system similar to Hori's to apply the screen protector.

i cannot try it yet, because i promised my bf i'd wait for him to come over to actually unpack the system

Nice. Nortec goodies?

You mario bastard.

Downloaded NSMBU last night and just got round to play it, and its sodding updating. It's a download, why does that still need a fucking patch. Smh. Least its fairly quick

Nintendo Land isn't very good, is it? No idea how it got such good reviews.

Yoshi's fruit cart has me shouting at the TV when he drives past a fruit without picking it up - so close you silly Yoshi, it's right there. Iwata can see the bananas why can't you? Aargh!

I like it a lot.

You should be able to click "launch software" as the download starts and you can play the game, with the update installing next time you open it (install takes mere seconds)

I love that game!

I have to say, though, DK's Crash Course is my favorite thing in Nintendo Land. A friend and I spent four hours playing it the other night trying to get through just the first two boards, and it never got old.

I think it's worth noting that, to me anyway, the best games on the whole Nintendo Land package are the two simplest and cheapest looking. I enjoy Yoshi's Cart and DKCC so much more than anything else I've played.

Do you have to do anything special to get the WaraWara home menu to update with the games you own snd online Miis instead of the basic system stuff and Nintendo's Miis?

It appears to be region-based popularity. It took the US a day to populate with the 8 or so most popular games/apps. I assume it's not populating it with world-wide popularity, but is rather region-based. If true, yours will show up within a day.

No, it's not very good at all for the price. Using my own scale of what's worth 60 dollars and what's not worth 60 dollars, this collection of iPad games is definitely not worth 60 dollars. I enjoyed about 4 or 5 of the mini-games, but after a couple days of messing with it, I haven't touched it since. It's not the Wii Sports experience that Nintendo needs to see this thing to the masses.

Also a big BOOOOOO to the devs of Darksiders 2 for screwing up the screenshot option. Every screenshot appears as a blank black screen in Miiverse.

System update took about an hour for me, but I cannot for the life of me create a network ID. The furthest I get to is choosing the network name and then error. :[

Mario is a lot of fun and playing on the gamepad is so good.

Tried all of these. It will still only connect to the router not the internet. Any suggestions?

Also someone please tell me connecting is easy via USB LAN.

I am surprised Nintendo does not allow updating with a usb drive. This would help out people with bandwidth caps, or having problems connecting.

can screenshots be posted from every game in nintendoland, just tried to post an f-zero one but didnt have the option to choose one....

I've noticed my Wara Wara loads the same 10 games everyday with different miis but same games every load. Is this the 10 games Nintendo is pimping or is it my doing some how? Could these be the 10 ten communities?

You know, I've downloaded and installed the update, but I never get Miiverse comments on my map. The hell am I doing wrong this time?

check your settings and try posting to miiverse from the game

some people on nintendo tech forum got same problem, here is some suggestions I found there

"Had the same problem. Just got off the line with Nintendo Support. The answer is to go to your internet settings and change your password type from WEP to WPA2-PSK (AES) if you are using a motorolla surfboard. The Wii u seems to be automatically setting it up as a WEP. Change that, make sure your password is correct, and follow the manual IP / DNS input as listed above, and that should fix it."

original post

PS. If possible pls look into the post I linked, a lot of ppl got different wired problems and many solutions they tried (either worked or failed) but at least you can get some new ways maybe can solve your problem.

Have you tried updating your routers firmware?

It's a Virgin Media Superhub using R36 firmware which, as far as I can tell, is the latest available firmware. Thanks anyway though.

Cheers but I tried all that. I use WPA2-PSK anyway and I've tried multiple different IP's and DNS addresses, still doesn't work.

For some reason it's always the Nintendo tech that fails to connect easily. :/

Got to love this shit right? I spend the last 3 hours trying virtually everything.

lol, yeah. It's fucking great. :|

My impressions so far:

- Really like the console itself. The black color looks soo good.
- Black Gamepad looks hot, but all that dust and fingerprints everywhere drives me insane :( Overall, I really like the Gamepad though. The Off-TV play is brilliant and somehow I didn't quite remember that feature until 3 hours had passed, haha.
- New Super Mario Bros. U looks amazing. Really like it so far.
- Nintendo Land.. eh.. The F-Zero game is my favorite so far. Love the control scheme.
- Miiverse is so cool. I love how it's integrated into everything. Very cool and so easy to make friends now. A complete opposite from Wii.

Should I bother getting Nintendoland?

Games are so overpriced here (UK) and it just seems like a bunch of mini games.

Oh yeah, do you have to update the console before you can transfer your Wii stuff? And does anyone know if having the homebrew channel on your Wii affects it?

IMO it's overpriced junk. I'd recommend watching youtube videos of the minigames to see if they'd interest you, also taking notice of the number and type of controllers required to play each mini-game. If it interests you then, go for it. Personally I think it'll be in the bargain bin or being sold off cheap by thousands of people within weeks and you can get it much cheaper. The best part of the game to me is the Plinko mini-game that you play in order to win prizes. The game could have been far more interesting if the Plaza in which all the Mii's congregate was real-time instead of just a bunch of random Miis spouting the same thing over and over.
