Cheers but I tried all that. I use WPA2-PSK anyway and I've tried multiple different IP's and DNS addresses, still doesn't work.

For some reason it's always the Nintendo tech that fails to connect easily. :/

ah, that's bad. Then maybe call Nintendo?

BTW, Wii U hasn't launched here yet and I am worried about the internet connections problems etc. now. We don't have official Nintendo support here (only the distributor) and if something goes wrong I don't even have a Nintendo number to call. >_<

Oh yeah, do you have to update the console before you can transfer your Wii stuff? And does anyone know if having the homebrew channel on your Wii affects it?

You have to at least update your Wii console, yes. WiiU, I don't know.
The transfer tool ignores the Homebrew Channel.

Just contacted Nintendo again. Set my router channel to 1 or 11, still no dice. Set my disabled my router's firewall. Also no dice. The lady on the phone said they've had a ton of calls about this problem.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Had a fun time playing Nintendoland.
Haven't actually done anything with the miiverse yet.

Am absolutely loving this system.

*Posted from my bed, on my GamePad.

So jealous of this. Mine won't quite reach to my bedroom above the system. I'm thinking of picking up a second power brick somehow and just putting it in the bedroom for easily moving the system around.

I give up, your wifi has beaten me Nintendo. ._.

Also whats the point in the TV remote option? It's so limited and I can barely even change inputs on it. And that takes forever and is literally the only button that is relevant to me.

On my way home from work after picking up my Premium today. Also added NSMBU, ZombiU, Sonic Racing, a Wiimotion+ and Nunchuck, and Super Mario Galaxy (I never owned a Wii) over the course of the day after having a HMV voucher to burn through.

Still have £27 left on it to spend as well, which I will either spend on Tekken Tag 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns or another Wii game.

Is the Rayman Legends demo out in the US? I know it's available on the demo kiosks but I don't recall seeing it in the eshop for download.

Zero demos on the US store, which is too bad because many of these games all have demos on the 360 and PS3. If you want to charge me full price for games I can buy much cheaper elsewhere, how about giving me a little look at it first please?

Unfortunately like Miiverse, the account/friend system, it's a neat feature but also incredibly half-baked. Without support for stereo receivers, it's pretty much useless to me. And to a great many other people I would imagine. Essentially you're handing me a remote and letting me change inputs on my TV, change channels on my DVR, and then making me go find the actual remote if I want audio. Major fail.

Had a first hardlock when trying to create a network ID; we're off to a good start...

Checked the browser. Yep, porn works; great browser confirmed. Seriously though, it's good.

How does one get rid of the overscan on the home screen? I fixed it manually in browser and on eShop, but how do I fix it here?

If overscan is not an option on your TV, you're not going to fix it.

It has to be fixed on your TV. Look in the settings and try to find the setting to turn off over scan. It's called different settings on each TV. For me on my LG I have to set it to just scan to fix the issue.

If I'm not mistaken, Just mode isn't to correct overscan. It's the setting to display the native image your TV is receiving. My TV has that setting and a setting for overscan.

Is the Pro Controller actually compatible with NSMB? Because I can't seem to get it to work.

I was hoping to just let the main controller charge and I dont wanna use a Wiimote ._.

All I wanted was a quick way to switch between inputs and change aspect ratio ):

Why aspect ratio? Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but every single device connected to my TV (Wii U, Directv HD DVR, 360, PS3, and Apple TV all use the same aspect ratio setting (native/Just). I've had to mess with aspect ratio maybe once in the 4 years I owned my TV.

I'm assuming you've messed around with different security encryption methods as well too? This system just might not be compatible with certain routers. :S

Nope, but on the plus side NSMBU is only 1.8 gig. Set aside an hour or two for the download and another 15-20 minutes for the install (might change depending upon the HD you're installing to).

A found a setting in my TV settings called "Full pixel" which solved the overscan issue.

A setting I believe you should be using for every HD device attached to your TV.

Oh yeah it's fine with all that kinda stuff, (i.e HDMI/digital inputs) the aspect ratio button is for older things like my PS2/SNES/Q etc. My TV always zooms in any analogue input regardless of if the signals actually 16:9 or 4:3. Bugs the hell out of me.

Is the Nintendo network screwing up for anyone else in the US? I'm downloading that sonic racing game and it downloads some, gets an error, starts downloading some more, then errors again repeatedly. It has taken 50 minutes to get 7% of 5.9GB. :/

My update download (1gb) took over 8 hours.

My Trine 2 download (2gb) took 25 minutes.

(to be fair, virgin buggered up my internet whilst downloading the update....i can laugh about it now(!!!))

I have tried everything. After 4 and a half hours I give up. You win Nintendo. Somehow you've made the least internet friendly device on the planet, yet again.

Bought a Wii mote and nunchuck, wanna try COD but it's not on the eshop...

I own 3 discs my digital only plan is falling apart if I pick up Batman not sure why WB is keeping it off the eShop
LLShC.gif

I got COD, ME3, and NintendoLand as discs I really wish I could have downloaded them. I am not sure your plan will work out masud

So my screen is already greasy from fingerprints... no use in getting a screen protector now, right? Or is there a good way to clean the screen?

I'll have to double check, but I thought CoD was on the eshop now. Believe I saw it under retail games. I could be wrong though! Not at home to check.

Has to be said, the impact has been minimal over here. Not a single person in the office has talked about buying one, it feels like the Vita launch to me.

It's still available from Amazon and hasn't cracked the top 20 in PC&VG rankings. That's pretty sad. In front of it are 360 in 16th place and PS3 at 29th place. Wii U is 62nd which is quite poor, especially for launch day.

I didn't see you mention it, but have you tried the manual IP configuration method? I've read of a lot of people having to use this method, myself included. I'm assuming you may have done this if you already spoke to Nintendo support, but having done phone support in the past, they're usually the last people to be told anything.

Cisco EPC3925 EuroDocsis 3.0.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the issues you are experiencing, but if it's a modem/router combo and anything like the DPC3925, then it's a giant piece of shit. I would recommend replacing with a Motorola Surfboard or another similar DOCSIS 3.0 device and getting a quality stand alone router to compliment it.
