It drives me nuts that they don't just take the Zune software from version 4.8 to version 5.0, rename it to Xbox music, and add support for windows phone 8.
They need to put the Xbox Music team in front of everyone and give them 30 lashes a piece.

On another note.
In my quest to find a twitter client with a live tile that's just a picture of me or random pictures of people im following. I paid for Rowi. In the top corner it has a number. WTH is it and how do i get rid of it?
HTC8X update just hit over the air in the UK on O2.Went very smoothly.
For some reason, Windows Phone modern/metro sync app is not seeing all of my Halo 4 music.
Thank Allah for drag and drop support.
And I dunno if anyone mentioned this before but I just dragged more than one minute and bigger than 10mb mp3s to the ringtones folder and they were all recognized as proper ringtones in settings menu.
WP7/Zune were dog shit indeed.
http://blogs.windows.com/windows_ph...ws-phone-store-expands-adds-new-features.aspxWith these additions, customers can browse and buy apps through our website in a total of 112 markets worldwide (see the full list here). The web outlet complements the phone Store, which is now available in 191 markets worldwide. And we’re continuing to work to bring the Store to more places.
New Store features
...
Today I’d like to mention several more new or recent upgrades to the website.
The first is universal search. Instead of having to go one place to find apps and another to search for how-to articles, you’ll now see all these search results in one place, which should help make it faster and easier to find what you’re looking for.
The web Store also now has support for installing apps via SD card, which many Windows Phone 8 models support. This option can be useful when a cellular or Wi-Fi data connection isn’t available. Just look for the “Download and install manually” link on the app’s details page. Click to download the app’s installation—or.xap—file, which can then be copied over to the phone’s SD card and installed. (See How do I install apps from an SD card? for step-by-step instructions.)
Finally, I wanted to call out the improved app reinstallation feature that’s part of My Phone on the website. This feature comes in handy particularly if you lose a phone or upgrade to Windows Phone 8. As long as you use same Microsoft account, you’ll see a Reinstall option beside each of the apps in your purchase history—just click it to put the app back on your new phone. This feature is available for both free and paid apps, which you don’t have to buy again. This how-to article has more details.
Hmm, so from what I've heard, you can change your search provider for IE in 7.8, huh?
Still sticking to Bing for integration, though.
The Nokia-specific build of 7.8 seems to be... something... interesting, to be honest. I think I'll wait until the official rollout.
You've piqued my interest. Explain?
Europe "success" is probably thanks to Nokia.
That does make me think that Europe is buying Nokia because of Nokia, not because of the OS, but rather how it complements each other...
I think so, I had some people come to me asking if they could see my "Lumia" and did not know it has (and even exist) a Microsoft OS.

Ativ S now available in Canada.

i spoke to an LG mobile regional rep yesterday. he was pimping out the Optimus G, going on how it's the number one rated phone on Consumer Reports, etc. i then asked him about LG returning to the WP market and he said, "what do you think? are carriers selling well with WP?" i replied no. he then went on about how nokia and microsoft's partnership pushed them out of the WP market. if the market demands more WP phones, then LG will consider it but it's really up to the carriers to demand more. i said that there is space for high end phones with a screen size between 3.5-4" which are typically mid range phones. the LG guy then said, "we are like burger king to carriers, we won't make it unless you order it." so the carriers aren't asking for smaller screen phones with high end guts.
Not bad? It's going to be last year phone in couple of months and they want just as much as the Note 2. Doesn't it also lack LTE?Not bad prices as well. My brother wants to get one from Telus and I have another buddy who is with SaskTel who wants one, but they are not launching on the same day as everyone else I guess. Carriers are terrible.

According to the articles and the website it's now for windows phone 7.5. 920 has Windows phone 8
Ding Ding, that worked.
Just wondering what people think about grabbing a Lumia 800 with Win 7.5 for fairly cheap...or just waiting it out till the Win 8 phones get a bit cheaper? Will be nice to have the Live stuff + Smartglass but I doubt I will use it super heavy.
I will just wait for windows phone 8 devices to come down in price, as windows phone 7 is not going to see much developer support going forward I feel.
