Hilarious how the reactions of a few can mimic the overall reactions on the internet.
No Houki is shit.Et tu Bear?
Next you'll be saying Houki was the best character in IS. Disgusting.

AOTY Confirmed.
Truly the EVA of our time. "I respect what they're saying. I just don't like cartoons."
gao gao~Oh my god.
What happened to your face? It's kind of cute.
Very interesting. I may buy just to support their entry into the market.New player coming into the US market

Same terrible characters cut from the same bad cloth. No Houki is shit.
But Becky is good.
Morio Asaka? I'm there for this day one.
Although I guess this also means a longer wait until a new season of Chihayafuru comes along.
KanColle: 01
Yeah... thanks but no thanks. Not my cup of tea to be honest. Didn't really hook me into watching any more episodes of it.
Damn, Saekano looks super interesting.
Saekano: hmmmm, which girl is which member in animegaf. Literally first thing that came to mind when the dialogue started.
Has anyone else tried out the Crunchyroll Wii U app? I think it works great.
Jesus Christ. There were three cool youtubers there and two of them were the asian dudes. The third was that brunette who didn't immediately dismiss it and thought it was cool and had a deeper meaning.
Probably the most genuine douchebaggy guy haha oh Shane Dawson, his opinion didn't flip flop. He knew from the beginning that there's some deeper meaning but stuck with his guns that cartoons are for kids LAWL

I actually agree with your review of the show .Yuki Yuna-fin
So now for the ending, I see why people had issues with it. I do. The problem is many writers don't take the time to both establish the rules of the 'game' before they subvert it. That's something Urobuchi did extremely well in Madoka Magica, in that he took a lot of time to explain how and why everything worked the way it did. If you don't take the time to set up these rules, then when you subvert them, it comes off as a deus ex machina as the audience themselves establish their own rules that might conflict with the creators. YYY never set up a series of regulations about the Shinju so the 2nd half does come off as a deus ex machina despite it clearly being a case of mismatched expectations between those of the creators and the audience. So in this regard, the show's drama is all about there being a communication issue, not so much from people talking but from a lack of information. In this manner, it is sort of bullshit as the audience and characters are being led on.Now I'm not saying that it's the audience's fault for believing the Shinju is a hungry motherfucker and gobbling up body parts. The show clearly wants you to believe that the loss of body parts is permanent. However in the end, it's clear that the rules are something like Jumanji (the Robin Williams movie for the kids reading this post, which is good btw). The effects of the game are permanent if you don't clear the game. It's clear that nobody had a full understanding of the rules, even inside the show, which led to the series of misunderstandings culminating in episode 10.
All of that said, I'm actually sort of fine with the ending. The reason being is that the show doesn't betray the tone it had. The earlier parts of the show, as mentioned earlier, are fairly light hearted despite all the foreshadowing.A key component for any good ending is that it is consistent in tone with the earlier parts of the show itself. That's why so many people were howling about Madoka Magica's ending in that despite it being bittersweet, it still stuck out as too happy compared to the pitch black suffering earlier in the series. The ending keeps in tone with the earlier part of the show, rather than the latter half. I remember reading that some people felt betrayed about the ending and how happy it is, but I would say that they forgot the initial episodes.
So putting all of this together, I feel like it's both better and worse than Madoka Magica's ending. It's nowhere near as well set up but it's also more in line with the show. Now two things I do find indefensible areKaren coming back to help the Hero Club out despite her being deaf and blind and Yuna's fainting at the play. Yuna fainting is a cheap 'gotcha' moment where the audience starts to freak out that Yuna's disabilities are coming back, when the show has no intention whatsoever on carrying through with that notion.
Going back to the work as a whole, I feel like people saying that it's a Madoka Magica ripoff, aren't doing the show justice. The work is clearly, and I mean clearly, inspired by Madoka Magica but it's also it's own thing with a different message, theme, and tone. Seiji Kishi wanted to do his own take on Madoka and the resulting work is an interesting project on its own. The show has its flaws but it was a fun magical girl watch.
Yea I've heard the theory, actually even before finishing the show. It would explain the time slowing down as Yuna swings the sword. That said, if they were going to go down that route then I don't see why they wouldn't spell it out clearly to the audience.
So their shit is going to be like Aniplex levels of expensive?
The blond dude and two of the three brunettes were terrible. The brunette that you mention was cool, though, I agree.
So their shit is going to be like Aniplex levels of expensive?
As long as they provide JP levels of quality, then I'm all for it.
Oh my god.
What happened to your face? It's kind of cute.

Sounds expensive.
Cowboy Bebop probably has the most realized and full science fiction setting in anime. It's also just beautiful to behold in all of its dirty analog glory.
But outside of Bebop, Magnetic Rose is probably my number one.

The test has been failed.
We don't deserve Shirobako or Reconguista in G if it's going to be outsold by shit like Amagi Brilliant Park, Cross Ange or Psycho Pass.
For the record I get that anime isn't for everybody and I'm not insulted, but for entertainers in recorded media you would think they'd be more willing to not dismiss something for shallow reasons when chances are some of them have to deal with that on a day to day basis.
I had a similar reaction, and then I looked at the shows they were bringing over and quickly realized I wouldn't pay $5 for them let alone what they will charge so I likely won't be supporting them right away.
What do you mean "we"?
Hm... Is that first season of Free still unlicensed for disc release or did somebody pick it up? Maybe they'll release that?

didn't funimation get that?
could of sworn I saw them spamming stuff about jonny bosh and vic migwhateverthehellhislastnameis having roles in the english dub of free.
you underestimate the power of kyoani waifus
Yeah that's exactly right. Normally you reserve the slow music/slow paced sequence for the ending credits to help the audience unwind. Quite the odd choice.
Oh my god. The Planetes Moon Ninja episode.
Isn't that for S2?

you might be correct? but I imagine if crunchy doesn't want to work with funimation to release it there won't be much pony can do until after crunchy loses the rights.
The home video rights to season 1 of Free actually belong to... Crunchyroll. Funimation is likely trying to work out a deal with them, but who knows how that will go.

I totally forgot they actually call her that.
He gets around having fuwa fuwa time even with her there.Same terrible characters cut from the same bad cloth.
Without Becky around, Cinque/Shinku could be having a good time, fluffing all dem tails. Instead he has to deal with boring unresolved drama with a shit childhood friend. Zzzzz. Maybe she'll be killed off in S3.
He gets around having fuwa fuwa time even with her there.
But that being said, if I were a villain in the twintails show, my affinity would be the childhood friend.
It's in my nature to like Becky.
I still don't know which girl I like the best in the series, at least not yet. I really think they're all good.
Uh just watched an episode of Cross Ange.
What happened to Sunrise? ;.;
Is this normal or have I been out of the loop?

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet 5
This show is a pretty sci-fi sol, and I'm liking the music lately too. But this ep is Ledo-service leading to really bad trans jokes for too long of its runtime.
