Tamako Market End

Cute. Enjoyable. Feels like KyoAni could make this in their sleep but they inject it with a lot of energy and every character is really likeable.

But forget that because it was a prequel to

Tamako Love Story

The entire movie is pretty much fanservice to get the main couple together and I love Kyoani for making it happen.

Obvious animation bump aside it was a smooth transition from a very light slice of life to a heart warming romance. Lots of little tiny details like character movement and transitions between scenes were just brilliant. Very easy to understand symbols like Tamako catching the baton and cup at the end to show she had resolved her feelings or the little light glimmer from the cup phones when Tamako and Mochi are talking to each other-just great simple stuff. Even the camera work-like to show the distance between the couple they keep Tamako on the extreme left of the screen with nothing to the right and then cut to Mochi in the exact opposite position.

You could get away with skipping the series and go straight to this as they have an excellent opening montage that sums up the relationship in the series (a bit like Up's opening montage). It just tells a great visual story in less than a minute.

So yeah great stuff all around. Stay away from light novels Kyoani and make more of these please.

He had a cartoon series and a live action movie, both were god awful

If metroid was to ever get an anime they need to nail one thing: Samus shouldn't talk or maybe at most one or two lines.

Any kind of Metroid movie/television series/anime would just be aping the fuck out of Alien/Aliens and not even be close to how good Alien/Aliens are, so just imagine Ripley is Samus and it works anyway.

World Trigger Episode 62 – Giev and Charon

As an Izumi Kohei fan, this was an awesome episode. He smiled, he looked serious, he joked, and he unleashed epic damage with his meteor.

The staff are making good use of the characters Daisuke Ashihara created so I dont have a problem if this is going to last us a ton of episode.

Assassination Classroom 13-18

Decided to come back to this and I'm really enjoying it again. It's a fairly good adaption with pretty decent animation.

The OPs are still obnoxious though.

Ah, so that's why.

I assume people have seen the Animal Crossing movie right?

I remember when there was this big fandub project for it years ago that I found to be pretty competently done back then before the guy behind it vanished from the internet.

I saw the rest of the film subbed later. It was all right. It definitely got the calm, enjoyable atmosphere of the games down.

The Kid Icarus short by Shaft still needs the 52 episodes treatment. Or at least a proper release.

Pretty much zero chance of it happening, but I could see SHAFT having a lot of fun with a Link's Awakening anime.

A Carnival Phantasm-esque Smash anime would also have potential, Shaft or otherwise.

Maturity, bitches.
Personally I want a Game and Watch anime.

But more seriously, Wario Ware would be ideal for an anime. It's quirky, a mixed cast of characters and the story is pretty open to any ideas.

If we could get a Nintendo series handled by SHAFT, I'd rather see them tackle Majora's Mask and its bizzarre setting, characters and situations with their distinct visual style that lends itself pretty well to that kind of stuff.

So Crunchyroll is locking out archive access to their catalog to free users... but only in Canada. I don't understand why they would need to do that, unless there is such a disparity in ad revenue with the crappy dollar that it's not worth streaming in Canada.

To Our Valued Crunchyroll Viewers,

Over the past 5 years, we have been dedicated to making Crunchyroll the best place for anime fans in Canada to enjoy Japanese anime, simulcasting 50 shows every season and adding many library titles. We’ve also expanded the free streaming service across mobile and living room devices, including Apple TV, PlayStation and Xbox consoles. In order to continue building the best collection of anime alongside the increasing cost of content, we’re making some changes to the free Crunchyroll experience.

As of February 1, 2016, catalog titles will be available exclusively to Premium subscribers. As a free user, you will still have access to all currently airing titles, so you’ll have plenty of time to stay up to date on the newest anime. Each new episode of a currently airing title will be available for a 13-week period, after which it will be available to Premium subscribers only.

As we strive to continue improving our Premium service on a global level, there are many factors that must be considered on a region by region basis. For the past 5 years, despite fluctuation in the Canadian exchange rates and the rising cost of licensing and streaming anime, the price of Crunchyroll Premium has remained the same. Our goal is to continually improve our Premium user experience and deliver the highest quantity and quality of anime and manga titles to all subscribers, including the latest premieres straight from Japan, without raising the price of our Premium service.

If you have any questions regarding the change, please see our knowledge base article click here.

If you'd like to sign up for a 14-day free trial of Premium to get unlimited access to all our shows ad-free, please click here.

Our dollar is just worth that little, I guess. :(

Yeah, reading the statement, there seems to be some blame on the dollar. That said, is the sub 6.95 in America? I guess if that's the case, then Canadians are getting a 30% discount on subs...

Check out Sound Euphonium if you haven't and be on the lookout for the upcoming movie A Silent Voice, both from the same director!

I think that's Beyond the Boundary.

No, that actually sold a bit more. Kyoukai no Kanata sold 4,505 per volume while Tamako Market sold 3,820 per volume. Nichijou sold still less at 3,024 per volume, while the worst selling KyoAni TV anime ever is the Munto reworking Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai at 449 per volume.

Koyomimonogatari 02

hnnnnng staple stable

I reached the part in Kizu when Oshino Meme said he would appreciate Araragi telling him about local oddities so I guess thats the basis for Koyomimono. Although I dunno about when Oshino leaves though. Holy shit Senjougahara and Araragi talking to each other. Although I guess this was before they started dating in the first half, funny Senjou refers to Hanekawa and Hanekawa-nee-san here.

This is still nothing special. I'm not sure if Monogatari works in these short little stories. I feel like it could but I don't understand the phone app decision because everything looks like crap but it jumps around the timeline and characters that don't get a lot of screen time will presumably show up so thats cool.

Oh right, that show. lol

Also come on, GATE is just pro-Japanese porn now. It's a fantasy how asymmetrical power is supposed to be so effective when both the Americans and Russians learned that it's literally impossible to bomb a people into submission. Yet here you have the Japanese just bombing these phantasy guys because of the most obvious reason in the world - rape.

Yeah seen Euphonium and can't wait for the sequel. Hear nothing but good things about A silent Voice so very much looking forward to that too.

Haikyuu 15

Is it just me or did some scenes look a little off? Like character models looked a bit weird at times which is rare for Haikyuu.
Anyways nice to see Daichi get some spot-light. Near cracked a rib laughing when the guy missed the synchronized attack, perfect comic timing.

Nurse Witch Komugi 2

Last week i said this was my dark horse of the season. Now i think its my favorite show. So much fun I was smiling or laughing for 20 minutes.

The OP is stimulus overload but really epic.

I don't recall Russia or America bombing medieval peoples. It's a pretty silly argument you are making here. Using wonder weapons against an established state wouldn't be effective?
