ERASED Spin-off
The April issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine revealed on Friday that Kei Sanbe will begin serializing a spinoff of his Boku dake ga Inai Machi manga in the magazine's July issue on June 4. The spinoff is tentatively titled Boku dake ga Inai Machi Gaiden. Kei Sanbe concluded the original manga in this Friday's issue of Young Ace, and art from the manga adorns the issue's front cover (seen right). The manga's eighth and final volume is slated to ship on May 2.

Director Tomohiko Ito posted on the anime's official Twitter account in February that the show will portray the original manga's ending. The anime is listed with 12 episodes, and is slated to end on March 24.

I forgot to mention I believe in the SAO director as well!

Will it be about Satoru Holmes and Airi Watson solving interdimensional mysteries?

No way they can reach to logical conclusions based on facts presented faster than Ougi-chan though.

:p

God Eater - Episode 10

Watched this an hour ago. Still recovering. Can barely type. I feel like I'm cut all over by the edge. I'm not really sure who really likes this type of shit. Well, I do know, but I just don't want to believe that people actually find edgy try-hard tragedy porn action done in such an obvious way to be... enjoyable. It's just stupid after a point right?

Again, the series continues to be super competent in technical areas, and the direction is engineered to push the sort of reactions it wants from viewers in a maximum possible way, but by this point, like, why? What's the purpose here? It doesn't even make Lenka feel stronger or anything, and we already know the world here is shit. Idk. I'm going to crawl into an ambulance and get get my wounds checked now. Bbl.

Assassination Classroom 2nd Season: 9

I like how they changed up the Op a little bit. Good episode for Nagisa though, his mom is a hassle. There is a piece of her that has good intentions with wanting the best for him academically speaking but then neglecting to listen to his feelings, making him do the cross dressing, then verbally and physically abusing him just overshadows that small part. She also crazy for that school shit. It’s good she finally backed off in the end though and hopefully will completely stop trying to live her desired past through him but yeah can’t tell if she took Korosensei’s words to heart or just now has a disinterest. Sucks his Dad left him in that situation too. Also, it was nice to see that skill from Nagisa in the beginning with the label grab.

She and Her Cat: Everything Flows: 1

Great first episode. The visuals are looking nice, it has a sort of warm feeling to it, even though the content itself is rather bittersweet. Looking forward to how the rest of the episodes will turn out and if she’ll overcome this hardship.

God Eater Episode 10

Well that was quite a dark episode, but still one of my favorites. All the technical stuff was top notch , i really like how it looked. Also some really nice music in this episode.
It makes almost every other show currently airing look cheap in comparison.

Ha ha, oh dear. Will definitely watch Hirao's older works instead of bothering with this; I for one am not interested in tragedy porn. I'd rather stories take their characters seriously than senselessly abuse them for the sake of appealing to morbid people.

God Eater 10

Absolute suffering, the whole episode was pretty predictable I think, outside of the very last scene I could kinda guess what was going to happen all the way through.

The earlier flashback was kinda interesting, was there some logic to some things being coloured in while the rest was black and white? It changed every cut, looked kinda random to me.

I liked how the secret motorcycle was just hidden in plain sight under a blue sheet.

sonicmj was right about one thing though! When the flashback starts in the beginning, it's normal widescreen and black and white! It only goes full color and super wide when it is Lenka himself recalling the past. Points for visual narrative consistency!

It's not random. Everything is in black and white, except the active subject(s) in the scene I think. So it always looks like the most important people in the scene are popping out.

Oh sorry, I should've explained better, I was wondering more about the logic between them changing which parts of the characters were coloured in.

Next cut with her.

Ace Attorney CM.

It looks very... accurate to the games.

I really want to see an episode of this now, wonder how it'll work.

Oh, lol. I think some of those might be errors. Doing partial coloring fills in a scenes when you have a ton of cuts that might go to coloring in a non-linear fashion can be super hard to keep track of. It's quite clear what the logic is for the early scenes - the colors are meant to be vital information - like showing the different colored results of the patch on their arms, the color of the mother's jacket, etc. Everything else is done for aesthetic purposes, like the hair and eyes against black and white skin, and the colored buildings in the background, the colored gate, etc. Then after a while it starts getting inconsistent, especially with Iroha.

pretty low budget. expected from game anime.

But God Eater is a game anime...

Lain 4

Pretty much impossible to differentiate reality from the Wired at this point(or at least from Lain's perspective). Everyone is so emotionally stunted by technology in this that two people just dieing barely registers to them.

Nice visual symmetry of the screen reflecting in Lain's glossed over eyes mirroring her dad's glasses. She's taken his role but is obviously jumping way deeper into it. It's really unsettling to see her slowly devolp this slightly morbid personality. I love the contrast of the last shot in this episode of the computer parts and wires basically encroaching on her room and taking it over compared to how modest it was in the last episode.

Oh and props to PS1 level 3d dungeon visuals. That was cool little dis-orientating sequence.

She and her Cat 1

Could easily watch a full series of this. Nice mix of hopeful and bittersweet atmosphere.

Maturity, bitches.
Phoenix is literally a still cel being moved up and down to depict cycling.

Shouldn't a PV show some of the better examples of animation from the show?

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Have tickets to Kizu today but I just want to sleep and Path of Exile.

The struggle is real.

Plot starts to happen.

Who ever was the voice actor for that dragon didn't seem all that enthused to do the part. Growl.

The episode was fine to me until the very end...
like, she cut her throat but still can talk for a while and even lives long enough to be eaten alive like... hahahha
Rest of it was ok.

The episode looked good and the series has had really good music too. I think it's still a solid watch.

There's something really satisfying about seeing a mech stop two trains and then punch a regular sized person/android. The dismembered head doing that creepy cackle was a chilling way to end what was "oh shits goin down" type episode.

But God Eater is a game anime...

Yep. Game adaptations can have good productions; it just requires the right amount of talent and resources being given them.

Gotta say, with Ayumu Watanabe on direction I was hoping Ace Attorney would have some of the visual creativity he showed in Space Brothers, but nope. Too bad.

Fairy Tail Episode Episode 274 Law

Fairy Tail is pretty incredible when you dont know the plot before hand. This whole Yuri arc and then the Zera stuff, wow.
I thought she was actually real

You can say that with any anime thought. I wont denying there is some good game anime. But most of it is simply mediocre because of many factor. Mainly rushing out just to promote next game

You can say that with any anime too though. A lot of anime is just made on the cheap to promote something else, whether it be a game, a manga, a light novel, figures, whatever.

Actually mobile games seem to produce some of the best game-based anime, perhaps because the sparseness of the source material gives the anime staff more creative freedom. Sengoku Collection, Rage of Bahamut Genesis, Majin Bone, Show by Rock - all good stuff.
