I am still bracing for the Justice League thread. That one is gonna be a shit show no matter how the grosses play out.
I got dibs on the review thread. I want a front row seat to that (potential) abomination.

Nothing will live up to the Batman v Superman review thread. Unless for some reason Avatar 2 is a complete turd critically. That is honestly the only thing I can see overtaking the BvS review thread for most fun to track as things rolled in.
We will have plenty of Thor 2: The Darck World gifs ready just for you. Don't worry!I just want some good gifs out of it.
What if Justice League is 100 minutes long?

I don't think I made any comments at the time, but did anyone else find that entire recent interview with James Cameron to be borderline incomprehensible
But will Stephen Lang be able to take down Wolf Warrior?
EDIT: Had to dig for that pic again (and repost it off Photobucket before it disappeared). But man, this thread from 2010 as Avatar was within $7m of Titanic's worldwide record was fun to read tonight.
None exist since that movie doesn't.

I want Avatar 2, Justice League, and Thor Ragnarok to all be fun and enjoyable movies that do well in the box office.
The Minecraft movie can go straight to hell, though.
Watch Minecraft pull off some weird wizardry like LEGO Movie did. A film that is nothing but some shameless, almost insulting cash grab/advertisement on the surface, but winds up being really damn good and heartfelt.
I see no reason why it couldn't, though I haven't looked at the people involved so there's that.
It's sort of crazy that it took until 2017 for this to happen.

And sad that it took that long.
But it is awesome that it happened.
Mac from It's Always Sunny is writing and directing.
Take that as you will.
I honestly have zero interest in Minecraft the film, so I haven't paid attention to the talent either.
Heck, I was rolling my eyes at the LEGO Movie months before release, and LEGO is where almost all my free money goes to (as evident by the LEGO GAF threads). But when the reviews for that were rolling in, I had to see what the fuss was about, and I was very surprised by how well it turned out. I am willing to give the LEGO films the benefit of the doubt now, because they are 2 for 2, although LEGO Batman wasn't as good as the LEGO Movie.
Hmmm.
And about the Girls Trip news, Fate of the Furious is the highest grossing film by an African American director isn't it?
I can't wait until it ends up being "surprisingly not total shit" with a "thoroughly unremarkable in either direction" box office run and no one knows how to spin it.
Yes. Gary Gray broke his own opening weekend record for an African American director as well. I can't remember if Straight Outta Compton had the overall gross record or not. If so, it wasn't by much. Tim Story directed the first set of Fantastic Four films.
Back in March, IndieWire did the top 33 highest grossing films domestically by Black Directors but used the annoying adjusted inflation that you love so much (LOL) gross.

Still got my avatar bet with DeathyBoy that JL doesn't outgross Avengers. I am still trying to figure out what avatar to punish him with when I win.

Thought it was avatar bet for a month. What did you bet again?
August 25-31 is Marvel XD Week at select Cinemark Theaters across the country. The chain will be screening 11 of the best MCU movies in fun, unique marathons—and each movie only costs $5.
Thor
Avengers: Age of Ultron
"classic"
words in English don't mean anything anymore.
^ Toa Tak approved
Of course! Toa Tak is a huge Thor 2oo: Darcy's Darck World fan. He has a Kat Dennings signed and framed (in custom built frame) poster hanging in his house.
TFA might have been bigger, but that's the only thing that I thought might compare.
I don't know how quantifiable this is, but shirts, bat-symbols on everything, the Prince music-- shit was omnipresent. Batmania in full effect.
I'm not saying this out of any reverence for the movie (I think it was so-so on release and has aged horribly).
I see a sea of shit talking in this thread.
Darckness has set on Box Office Gaf. Only Th3r: Ragnacock (Darcy's Darck World 2oo) can save us.
