Where does it say that?Joke post?
Both launches couldn't be more even. Both sold 1 mil+ units worldwide. Since both companies confirm selling pretty much all their units, it's impossible to say who did better.

Matty2D frauded his way to a ban. This was inevitable. He was in the Sony repair thread saying nonsense too.so fucking dense. this is what neogaf has become.
Edit: Big thanks to whatever mod is deleting my posts.
Sony chose a different path for launch, so an apples-to-apples comparison is impossible. We had X number of units to sell and we chose to launch in all our launch territories. Sony had X number and chose to focus on North America. Neither was better than the other.

And yours ? NPD, GFK etc or internal tracking numbers ?
Europe will be interesting. Largest European launch is only like 325k units in first few days
The OP. C'mon, dude.Where does it say that?
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I love reading how people are enjoying the system.
As for the numbers, as people have said it's great for the industry (after all the reports of the "death" of consoles) to see the sheer amount of interest and excitement with consumers and the media over this. It's really amazing.

In this circumstance, comparing our US number vs. their US number would be like comparing our UK number to their UK number. They don't have any in the UK yet, so it's not a fair comparison.
Both consoles I think will be hard to get through the holidays.
And I love how "yield issues" is still a thing. What was the precise number we needed to make for that to go away? There were no yield issues.
Was 36 hours since launch in Australia.I think it's been a full day since they first went on sale in...Australia? I think that was the first territory to sell them.
Edit: Yeah, it's tomorrow there now.
But they've been manufacturing since midsummer by their own accounts and they're the ones that backed off their original release plans by 8 territories. It's not cut and dry just because 1 million is a big number. How long did it really take to get to that number. How quickly can they resupply? Etc.
The ps4 will beat your sales next week in Europe, plus there is also Black firday. You did not do better than SONY.
No way. So you are saying more than 1 million consoles were sold and only 1 million connected to live. That would have been in the press release. How Microsoft already has sell through number ?
I believe this 1 million number is based on consoles on Xbox Live.
He works for MS ffs?

Don't you have to ping their server to get it to work in the first place? No way. So you are saying more than 1 million consoles were sold and only 1 million connected to live. That would have been in the press release.

If 1 million people want your competitor's product in your dominant territory, "neither was better than the other" is something you should be terrified of. That points to losing significant market share if a trend emerges
.

I believe this 1 million number is based on consoles on Xbox Live.
Do you mean in a single country, or over the continent because neither are true. The PS3 did 600k across Europe in two days, and PSP holds the current Europwide record in the UK at 185k, PS3 is second at 165k.
PS4 will breeze past both of those records.
No way. So you are saying more than 1 million consoles were sold and only 1 million connected to live. That would have been in the press release.
Eh, it will change, that's for sure. But it's not crashing. This is a launch where 150+ million people have the last generation. I don't think selling 2 million during the launch week of these new consoles is any indicator we can go by.
Next year will be more telling.
When will you respond to that 30% FUD that you were spreading before the launch? Now you are trying to spin the sales numbers as well to make them equal to one another? Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I love reading how people are enjoying the system.

A large chunk of the sold consoles have not even been taken out of the box.Don't you have to ping their server to get it to work in the first place?
With all the spin I assume they would have said that in the presser. Maybe not.It could be based on the update though? Since they took the update off line that would be a good way of tracking sales I guess. They should be able to tell how many UID's have accessed the patch servers.

I'm horrible at math, but nowhere near inept, its definitely better...The fact you didn't choose a focused launch where you have had a lead for ages, and opted for a diluted worldwide launch says a lot in itself,
*I believe the buttocks*
Yes, I realize that. Since this isn't real time, then that means that MS had to have gotten it even earlier in the day correct? Possibly not even 12 hours after the Xbox One midnight launches in North America?
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I love reading how people are enjoying the system.

It's really hilarious seeing people hyperventilate trying to explain why this is bad for Microsoft :lol
Oh NeoGAF, never change. Don't you have video games to play?
I've read conflicting reports that the X1 is still available. People can still find them at retail stores and such. The OP. C'mon, dude.
First of all, congrats on the sales, it's a great achievement.
Second of all, addressing the quoted, I think to make the "yield issues" rumour go away that Microsoft would need to equal or out ship Sony in units by the end of the year.
In my opinion, if the Microsoft's worldwide shipment numbers are significantly lower than Sony's worldwide shipment numbers by the end of the year, then I guess that would lead credence to the "yield issues" rumour.
