This game is going to be the Return of the King...
Alot of people still believe this game is going to be some kind of Fallout 76 2.0, expecting same disasterous launch, same graphics same everything.
Around this time next year alot of people are gonna be hyped for Starfield. Like, really really hyped. This will be Xbox's new flagship title after Halo launched and potentially be bigger than halo Infinite's launch itself.
I have no doubts in that. You can go look at interviews everytime Phil mentions Starfield, always puts a smile on his face. They know with this game going exclusive they're going to make bank and rightfully so. That'll sell Gamepass like no other title.
Creation Engine 2 is a huge upgrade. Over 4 years in the works. They started upgrading their tech and engine in early 2016, technically they're not even done yet except for the major changes since they now have a much bigger systems programmer and engineer team than they ever had before (going from 4-5 people to over 20).
BGS has now over 400 employees. Most of them work on Starfield, their life service team in Austin is continuing work on Fallout 76, Montreal has a new mobile game in development (not sure what it is and can't say 100% if that is even true, thats just what I heard), but overall Montreal is working on Starfield as well. Maryland is the main force behind Starfield, also a smaller team is working on TES Vl right now, probably trying out different new features or tech they may want to implement for that game.
But it doesn't end there. Lots of outsourced teams are working on Starfield aswell, including a newly formed studio by an ex-BGS employee who also operated as a senior animator for Starfield. He now has his own company which is helping out on the development of Starfield.
In certain areas Creation Engine 2 will be more modern than even Unreal Engine 5.
