XCOM 2 |OT| Be Aggressive! Be Be Aggressive!

Nice weapon mods are coming in now.

HK 416/17 that's sexy. Is there a mod to let my gunslinger keep his revolver as he levels up? I just like it so much more than the magnetic/plasma/beam pistol.

The most jarring thing about not having the pre-order stuff is that Unrestricted Armor Customization sometimes results in me having torsoless soldiers.

I like it because it seems something built by a genius woman with very few resources. Like, all she has to work with are scraps of metal, so she creates this elaborate metal shell to give the heavy weapon a proper stability. I think tier 3 weapons look way too clean. It's like, "Shen, why are you wasting my money on fancy curves?"

I love this game too much. Even while my C/I game is still in progress, I'm running a V/I to blow off steam and try out builds, gear, and skills I wouldn't otherwise.

I built a few mag weapons after finish Magentic Weapons, how do I equip them? The mag weapons aren't showing up under loadouts.

I wonder if it's possible to mod in un-genetically modified human enemies to pods as alien collaborators working with ADVENT who use the same gear that you do, so you get heavy gunner enemies, specialists, etc.

My ironman save freezes/glitches when trying to start the last mission. I finish a long cutscene and it like auto loads the squad prep screen and sits there with no ui.

Guess it's time to play firewatch

This run is going better tactically, but I'm stuck with only two engineers and I just can't meet the actual demands of the game right now. There's no way to influence engineer appearance right?

I feel like there's way too much weight towards the importance of engineers vs scientists.

Just finished my first run. Had the most amazing sequence show up in the final 2 turns.

Everyone else is out of cds/tools, and hanging back on low health. My [FINAL OPERATION SPOILERS]
one psi ops guy drops the psi aoe on the last avatar and a snake as its all I can really do. It procs mind control on the snake. The avatar tps back behind cover in response and, on the enemy turn, instead of shooting at my psi ops soldier, shoots at the snake and misses. Back on my turn my soldier can't quite reach the avatar, but the snake can. I get the snake on the high ground, go for the bind to pull the avatar to it, and it works. I move my soldier into position to null beam the bound avatar and it kills the snake and avatar, the only remaining aliens, together, ending the mission.

I wish the avenger had different graphical options. My game runs really pretty and really well on combat, but at the avenger, where I do not care at all for graphics, it has really bad performance.

Save Supplies/Intel and purchase one at Base/Black Market.
I didn't need them near end of my run and purchased Col. units instead.

That's badass. I love the kind of insane shit you can do with mind control. In that same mission I had a mind-controlled Gatekeeper take out a ton of dudes and then capped it off by turning it into a suicide bomber by sending it into a crowd then sniping it with my sharpshooter. Boom.

How's your run going? I'm taking it slowly just a mission or two a day as to not get too stressed. Finally got magnetic rifles, predator armor and an AWC. It's finally starting to curb the difficulty a bit, but these mutons are beefy as hell. Still haven't lost anyone but I have 4 shaken soldiers. It's rough.

When you find out what's in the blacksite vial, I couldn't help but think of that horrible movie.

man, this run felt so much harder than it actually was. So many close calls but in the end I lost very few soldiers. You're given so many tools that you can make it out of a lot of really bad situations.

final mission was pretty glitchy - had to quit out and restart at one point. Nothing totally game breaking just annoying visual bugs.

The 'early struggle to late coastfest' is exactly how I remember the OG game went. I love it. That roll you get into balances the experience.

Ugh, developing psi is always my weakness. I don't know how far I am into the story but I'm probably like mid August or so now
haven't hit the blacksite vial coordinate facility or researched codex brain
and haven't put the psi lab up yet. Feel like I need them and I'm gonna fall behind.

I've restarted about 11 times and finally for some reason things are going better on this run. However, both my grenadiers are injured so it's probably game over now

I also need help for my strategic planning for Legendary, I wasn't aware how much longer things took to build or that GTS costs seem increased? Ugh... It's possible to have 3 scientists very soon (1 Eng RNG RIP) and Mag Weapons is 21 days out... but I have no alloys and neither current excavation level 2 will give me alloys. Will have to hope for supply raid or map drop. In game is April, 1

I have a pretty shallow understanding of how hacking works beyond "under 50% seems bad". But a random alarm pylon thing just gave me control of a Muton in the middle of a pod of sectoids I hadn't discovered yet. Probably the most fun I've had in a combat engagement!

It only takes one month for everything to go pear-shaped. One failed mission and some just-out-of-reach ADVENT bases have brought me to the brink of disaster, with a near-max Avatar bar and no solution in sight.

Defense missions are the worst.

Question: How are you attacking twice with 2 massive damage flanks? Also, how are you concealing again?

higher level ranger will get an ability that allows them to re-conceal, and plus 3 damage on flanks is from the guerilla tactics school or whatever its called

when the avatar bar hits max you get a 15-20 day timer to make some progress and knock it back down

So I had a popup with "you can recruit blah specialist people" and I was like "yeah in a minute bro let me finish scanning for a sec". Half a day later I finish scanning, but how do I actually recruit them from here? I don't see any options on the avenger or in the resistance HQ sector.

go to resistance hq and click the uh left side of its icon, the thinig with the star, on the opposite side of the scan button

Just started a mission concealed... and a sectopod was in range of my troops from spawn. Like, I can't move any of my troops because as soon as they move they will triger the secto, since they're already in his discovery range.

... I don't think that was a design decision.

They're not supposed to spawn in a certain radius of your spawn area... hoo, boy
