For people who have tried Steam controllers, what do you think?

First two real missions on commander difficulty felt pretty good. First mission went flawless, but I made it to the ***** with 1 turn to spare. One badly hurt guy in the next mission, but no deaths. I guess I don't understand how to properly pull off an ambush yet, since I thought they'd have to run to cover and I'd get to go again, but they got a turn right away and shot my guy.

I'm trying the official configuration but it feels a little awkward (I have found myself flipping to the mouse at times). That might be due to being a leftie though. I think I might reverse some of their suggestions regarding the buttons (right button left side feels weird as fuck).

Also I had a go at making Chloe from Life is Strange.

There's a lot of options with the customization, but I have to admit the faces aren't overly great. Need more than 6 options imho or make the existing ones less fugly.

I had pool created characters turn up after the first tutorial mission.

There is a way to set the game to only pull from your created character pool. Christopherodd talks about it in his youtube about the character pool stuff.

I think you only want to do that when you've got a pretty deep character pool though. Just making about 6 characters took some time with all the finagling you end up doing. Stuff like the textures being on a separate selection screen from the armour/weapons seemed kind of weird, and also there's a major lack of hair colours going on versus those available for armour etc. I wanted to make black widow and there just isn't a really punchy redhead colour at all.

Also this has to be one of the best Steam Controller setups I've ever used. Might nick it and port it over to XCOM 1.

Tip for people having trouble with Sectoids, flashbangs will get rid of their mind control. That's saved my skin more than a few times so far.

Like the first one, I only rename and customize my guys once they level up, rookies are nameless fodder until then

I think EU/EW has better battle music, I'm considering running it in the background. The EU tune is catchier, although the Xcom 2 sound track is still good and better than EU during the base building section.

I made Chloe too! I thought the bob suited better, though the dreads look cool too. Cigarette is mandatory.

Fired it up and... the game doesn't offer any resolution other than 1280x720.

Edit: A restart fixed it.
