Anyone else having issues where it makes you go to the upper right of the base overview and won't let you look anywhere outside of clicking on Research/Hanger/etc?
Guys I found Van Doorn
edit: nm im blind <
Got hyper rekt on the first civilian rescue urgent mission and that was only Veteran
Shapeshifter + sectoid team fucked me up bad
I could click around, customize characters, but not return. The bottom left arrow simply wouldn't do anything. Escape wouldn't do anything.
Anyone else encountering any of this?
I agree! The default setup is great. Left touch pad to move camera and right touch to move the curser works well.Just played two hours with the Steam controller. I absolutely it in XCOM 2.
For me, the cause was a plugged-in joystick (I think EU had a similar problem). There's a probably something in an ini file to fix it, but unplugging the joystick works.
Same here. On my second one, managed to meet one of the two mission objectives and the mission still counted as a failure. Got everyone out alive though so I'll take it. I'm on Veteran and would say it is decently challenging but I haven't teched up to tier 2 stuff quite yet.
Created a bunch of my friends, but I don't see them to recruit? What's the deal?
By default the pool is drawn from both random and custom character pools. There's an ini edit to force one over the other.
This video explains it. IIRC it's in the last third, towards the end.
Did a dumb move and 3 out of 4 soldiers died from a grenade. I'm okay with 1 dying but anything more I feel justified in hitting reload.
No offense but you must have gone in completely blind and apparently expected no changes from the first one. All of what you said (well except the resist thing) were already known in advance. Sometimes staying in the dark to avoid spoilers isnt the best idea I guess.
The confusion about the timers especially is bizarre since the devs have been saying for months they were in, specifically to get away from the slow methodical place as you call it. They wanted a more offensive game this time around. Im not saying its better or worse by the way, im just saying you shouldnt suddenly be surprised the game is like they said many times it would be.
Its like someone buying Street Fighter 5 and going "wtf I cant focus attack anymore"
I don't get the overmap. Like, whoever designed the overmap interface needs to step back, take a deep breath and reconsider their career choices.
Plus, if the game bugs me one more time about unassigned staff when there is nothing to assign them to I will flip.
I did practically go in blind when it comes to mechanics and such ( i had seen a bit of combat and base gameplay ). But honestly, whether it was known beforehand or not doesn't really matter. I still think it's a horrible change of direction to have virtually all missions force you into having to play fast and loose. Now it's like every mission being a bomb disposal mission. If some people like the change, that's cool. I personally, think it's a terrible change, that's all.
I'm also not sure why you seem to downplay the other things you say was known beforehand. Again, them being known before the game was out, doesn't excempt them from being problems/issues
Anyone having issues with characters from the custom pool not showing up correctly in the actual game?
Sort of. I set some of them to be specific classes but when I recruited them and they upgraded from Rookie they were given random classes. Bleh. Visually they seem to be ok though. I noticed a number of the customization options are currently locked while playing early in-game whereas in the Pool editor they are not. Maybe this has something to do with your problem?
RECRUITMENT STANDARDS WILL BE POSTED SOON. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES ON THIS SPACE.
the first mission was hard till i realized that I could set up an easy ambush for the first patrol. the second patrol was a little harder to get to because of time constraints but it eventually all came into place like a master plan
Okay.Patiently waiting for PS4 announce, I loved the other games, probably my favourite tactical strategy games of all time
I even specifically said I wasnt opinating weather it was good or bad, I just said I expected them. You cant act surprised or disapointed when you already expect something, is all
anytime time to see how this runs
SpotifyI need the soundtrack already!!
I hate this thread title.
What I worry about in the new one is the time limits being on most missions it seems. I like to take my time and set things up. I hope that it gets modded out.
Do enemies still get a free movement turn when you discover them on the map?
I read your post as only talking about the turn timers when you said you didn't know if it was good or bad. My bad if you meant in general for the things i mention.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say I can't be surprised or dissapointed by the things in the game just because I had some personal expectations though. Of course I can?
