So with interrogation out, are there other ways to accelerate specific types of research?
I want to try and rush magnetic weapons on my next run. I feel like supplies are too precious to be spending on items, at least until I get more inventory slots on my soldiers.
Can you heal gravely wounded soldiers?
time.
Oh, that's what the "days" thing means? I assumed that's how much time they had left before dying.
It makes me wonder how a guy like Beaglerush gets so good at this game before it's even out.
You can speed up healing with one of the scanning bonsues and one of the facilities lets you staff an engineer to speed things up.
Is there an actual Wounded status in this? I've only ever seen Gravely Wounded.
You can buy speed boost for research at the black market.
Yes, there is Wounded. I think it's based on the HP they lose? Or else the type of attack that harms them.
There's also a Shaken debuff some soldiers get, lowering Will. It only goes away if they kill a unit and take no damage during a single mission (assuming I read that tooltip right).
No spanish italian or french voice options, they will default to english if there's no voice option for them.I have "match soldiers language to nationality" checked and all my soldiers are still speaking English even though I have spanish, Italian and french soldiers.
Sup with that.
At the third mission from the start, and thinking about lowering the difficulty. It's really a completely different challenge from the previous game.

Like, combat or the world map? The world map is hectic, trying to do everything is impossible. Combat is very lethal. A slight grace takes a soldier out of combat for weeks at the beginning. Rangers and Grenadiers are amazing crutches in the beginning. Don't be afraid to just dump your Sharpshooter right off the bat.

Or Russian either right? EW had all of those :/No spanish italian or french voice options, they will default to english if there's no voice option for them.

Do they just have English and Spanish?
How does that make any sense?I've read something(voices for nationalities) was not put in because the piracy situation in some of those regions.
How do you unlock additional customization? Scars..etc. They are greyed out.

Combat.
The third mission for me is a train level. While I could manage XCOM1, I'm struggling on that level on veteran difficulty. The number of enemies makes it really difficult to reach the target before the timer runs out.
I've only started playing it, so it might just be experience I need, but right now I'm not really enjoying the game. Timed missions from the start feel a bit much.
The timers forced me me to get really creative. General tip-age:
- Making a straight line to your target is not always the best idea. Try to skirt the outside of the map until you're near the target. There's usually shit right between your starting location and the target.
- If it's a hacking target, remember that Specialists can hack from a distance. You never need to enter the building at all.
- If it's a VIP target, consider just killing the guy from afar and extracting. Abducting targets really puts stress on your time limit.
- If you start out in stealth, by god use it effectively. After finding the enemy, set your dudes up in overwatch and expose yourself with a big bang, rather than an individual shot.
- Get 2 Grenadiers. Use 2 Grenadiers. Get their explosive talents. When you train rooks into specific classes, always make sure you have spare Grenadiers. Nothing wrecks enemy cover like a Grenadier.
- Rangers are stupidly good at assaulting. The base swords they come with, and the first sword talent, give them high damage at the start of the game before you've researched anything.
- The Ranger talents for re-Stealthing/Extra Stealth are stupidly good for exploring the map.
- Get Magnetic Weapons before you get armor and gear. Huge huge difference.
Coolest addition to customisation? Biographies. I'm serious.
Being able to record exactly what victories a soldier had is immeasureably useful.
Rank up soldiers. There's also some hidden customisations (in unlocked categories) that will appear as they rank up, as well.
Is that what you are using biographies for? I was writing back stories from before they joined XCOM, lol
This is the third mission, so I have not really had any opportunity for any choices for what I should get or not.
It's a train mission, with a timer for 8 turns. If I rush, I get in a situation with 2 sectoids and at least 5 advent soldiers. And with them patrolling the right side of the train and the top, and it being difficult to hide from them on the left side, stealth is not really helping me either.
Thinking about losing it intentionally, and see what other missions provide instead.
Seriously needs more face options. The 5-6 we have now is pretty weak. And like 1/3 of them are pudgy abominations (at least the females - haven't made a male character yet).
Do gotta say some of the alien intros are kind of underwhelming with the stealth system. They're so sparse early on, I've killed Mutons and the Snakedudes before they've even really gotten to do anything to me. Makes them seem a little less fearsome, at least until they start showing up more.
Sectoids are plentiful enough early one and likely to fuck with you enough early on the make them seem fearsome.
