If all those overdrive color combos are too much to memorize then just keep these key takeaways in mind:
  • Combo into/out of green arts to get short time extensions
  • Combo into Blue arts to get large time extensions
  • Length of time extensions are determined by the number in the middle. At Max (100) green gives you 5 seconds and blue gives you 10 seconds.
  • Combo Blue into Green for a small HP recovery if soul voices aren't keeping up well enough.
Edit: Oh and in case of emergencies, you can spend an additional 3000tp to max out your time in overdrive by pressing A on the Overdrive button again.
finally I get an idea on how to do some decent combo. thanks^, I'd assume that the same rules apply to Skells as well?

the game doesn't even try to explain most of the Overdrive mechanics.

Just walked into Oblivia for the first time. Looked so cool, then I got to the bottomless looking pit.. I just stood there looking around taking it all in. Just amazing.

As I'm exploring, looking around at the landscape, the indigens, it starts raining some sort of acid rain.. So I think "Damn I guess I better fast travel back to somewhere safe". But I decided to look around a bit more and I stumbled unto a cave.
Well I might as well explore it to get out of the rain.

I'm so glad I bought this game. I love it.
And fighting Tyrants is the best! The music is awesome, makes it feel so epic!

As far as I can tell Skells' overdrive time extensions are completely RNG just like the cockpit view is.

All right got the
Prone sweet prone
quest from Stella. I guess I will get back to this later. being level 29 and not having a skell seems not be good to reach the objectives. At least I haven't found a way without aggroing everything inside.

My favorite mini game in this game is Indigen Dodging. There will always be bigger and badder threats and having to dodge them successfully whenever youre running across the continent makes traveling a lot more enjoyable.

I give myself a high five if I can make it to a goal without getting into any battles.

So I am supposed to talk to Solan in Deliverance Park in the morning to finish an Off the Record Mission, but he is nowhere in the area.

Awesome, thanks a million. Do Orange and Yellow do anything specific?

Comboing yellow arts together gives you a Class EXP boost and comboing orange arts together gives you a normal EXP boost.

That said, I haven't mastered Overdrive without the Ramjet Rifle. >_>

so I got a G2 buster for my lvl 30 heavy, along with drones on the back and the L-missile (or whatever it's called, the one that has extra blaze damage). I'm just annihilating everything up to +10lvl enemies haha. got cocky and went for a tyrant though which didn't turn out so well.

this is such a huge step up from where i was not long ago. will i be overpowered now within main story/affinity missions? or does the game expect that I'm going to be upgrading like this?

Thanks! Also what set up did you have when beating Rexoskell at ground gear in the definian downfall mission? Cant even harm the thing.

Lots of weapon with mechanoid slayer, armor with electricity and ether resistance mostly, and I engaged the fight with an overdrive directly to take out her appendices as fast as possible

You will most likely destroy the main story. I know I did.

I'm considering restating my game again. I'm over 115 hours in (35 hours into post game).

Right now doing bunch of normal and affinity quests I'm very overleveled for and grinding out reward tickets/materials to get new Superweapons&Skells.

During my normal run I made a lot of mistakes. It took me too long to properly understand the mechanics, I stuck with the name Sniper/Lance class for the majority of my time, I left a lot of normal/affinity missions for the post game (which is a mistake), and botched a few side mission choices (poor Carl).

I guess I should just get on with it but I dont know if I want to give it all up and restart again (it's a long as time before skells). And yes I know I can just make a new profile therefore new save but If I end up spending as much time on that profile as I have with this one I'd rather have it on my main profile.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

Considering I'm still trying to wrap this shit up in a timely manner (lol) and move onto Trails of Cold Steel nooooooooooo

But I get your point, the scariest part of XCX is that it gives a lot of incentive to replay and try out alternate takes on normal missions.

Now I need a good place to grind...

Anyone have a good suggestion for a lvl 43 (In heavy skells) to grind? Btw, I see a lot of G2 weapondrops getting mentioned right now. Where do I find those?

Thanks so much for this. I think I'll be doing

Green > Orange/Yellow > Purple > Blue > Green

That gives me

Double counter > TP Bonus > Duration+ > HP Recover

Well I'm getting weapons for my Skells... but they're for lvl 50, my Skells are level 30 and I'm level 39.

What do?

I'm taking G-Busters off my teammates' Skells. they're eating fuel almost as fast as I am.
I've stopped equipping my team members with arts that use 200 fuel, but they still chew through their fuel so quickly.

Is there really no way to tell them to drive more eco-friendly? >_>

No reason to give your entire team skells unless the mission demands it. I usually only have my main on an OP skell.

30 minutes to finish a main story quest.

20 hours to [maybe] finish all the side-quests available after that main quest.

welcome to X~enoblade

I finally hit 50 and am ready to purchase a new skell and have already farmed a level 50 G2 buster and the phoenix. Are there any other must have weapons or any recommended skell builds? Is there some overpowered set I should be farming or a certain combo to buy from the vendor to plow through chapter 12?

Try enemies of the same type around level 30. I forget where exactly is a good place for level 30 stuff but any of the ganglion bases you've been to recently ought to have robots.

Looks like we're at 161k for NA!

I swear it was only at 150k-ish yesterday. At this rate it should reach 500k worldwide easily! It'd be nice if it could get to a million but that'll probably be tough.

Also I'm loving all these quests involving interactions between different alien species. Just did a really simple one involving a Ma-Non and a
Zaruboggan
becoming friends and it was just really adorable haha.

Just started playing this and it's pretty well confusing to me, though I played Chronicles on my 3DS :)

I chose mediator to start...why not!?

Well, I've really got the hang of it now. The end level Jaguar skills come in handy. I'd recommend going down that road if you want to build exp. I can easily chain long strings with the multiple hit melee arts. Blood sacrifice gives you 1000 TP a pop... And you can throw out three in a row - indefinitely extending your overdrive when you max it out.

So I think I understand everything about how to make the ares 90 except for the part where I have to do squad missions for tickets. I've got everything else in place except for that.

Something about recruiting lv60 and level 1 blade level recruits and getting medals. This shit is flying over my head.

So I finally began chapter 10, and it was so easy it wasn't even funny. All I had to do is use my trusty G2-Buster whenever it was available and I'd be trashing the boss' appendages in matter of seconds, with cockpit views making things even crazier. I almsot feel like Saitama, beating all missions centered in combat with my overpowered AoE weapon. Only tyrants pose a challenge to me, and mostly because they often have so much HP that they can actually tank multiple G2-Buster strikes.

I've also recruited Celica and stole her dress as fashion wear for my character, while I gave her some other light clothes to keep her in-theme as well as a flower headgear I got from a mission. She's become a somewhat stable character in my party now since I'm planning to attempt her affinity quest as soon as I'm done with chapter 11, which I haven't started yet.

Playing affinity missions that don't require a fourth party member is always really weird since they're always standing even further away from your team than Tatsu and don't even get a single line, sadly (neither spoken nor written).

Its not squad missions, is scout a lvl 60 player.
You don't need to do that.
The diference between a lvl 60 player and a lvl 1-9 player is that when you get it to max Scout level it gives you 15 tickets instead of 1.
But you can level a level 1-9 to max with a single lvl 40+ enemy.
What I did was:
-Scout 3 lvl 1-9 players
-Warp to 406 killed all purge in there, to get my GBuster and my Phoenix weapons
-Warped back to the city, released all of the scouts
Rinse/Repeat

This gave me a lot of blade medals, and enough gear to farm the global nemesis.

That's waaaayy too much micro managing.

So tell them to get out of their skells when in a fight. You can also start a fight outside of your skell and get in after that, the other members will stay out.

Anyway, after trying the final (I think) fight I decided to grind enough money to equip my whole team with lv. 50 skells. I just hope it won't take another 90 hours.

I didn't even know Cold Steel would be releasing so soon. Will I be able to play it without having played Trails in the Sky?

Are you trying to brag? We already went over this, you are overleveled and overgeared.

So anyone have any idea where the 8th storage probe is? I'm at 7 and I'm going over the cap. I'm getting 40k miranium and 140k cash a tick.

I'm using only light skells, and I put boost.eva and/or spec.eva in every slot. I have 3 light 50 skells with 350+ evasion each. Anything lvl 64 or lower hits me once in a blue moon and I can take on a few lvl 70/80 tyrants.
