They can be high and mighty while competition keeps chipping away.

Ehhh... Marketshare wise you might be right, but it doesn't matter if no one else is making money.

If the 4.7's camera isn't as good as the 5.5 that will be a major bummer. I don't want a 5.5" version.

I want a 5.5 version and am tempted to just get the 4.7 since the 5.5 is being delayed by a month or two. I actually need a phone now. Sucks.

It's rumoured that the main difference will be OIS. Not a huge deal IMO.

Seriously. With a lens that small any image stabilation is mainly going to be software anyways. It's not like people are going to replace their action cams and use their cell phones any time soon.

Not action cam replacement, but better low light performance without a flash. It should allow for sharper pictures with longer exposure times. My biggest gripe with the 5's camera is low light performance.

Yea but I'm probably not getting a bigger phone solely for that. I suppose it depnds on the pricing.

IWatch thing gonna have low battery life. Oh no.
I really can't imagine Apple releasing this with anything less than incredible battery life. It's one of the most common complaints with smart watches so I imagine that their bar for success was set higher than 24hours. The other complaints are usually "huge", and "ugly" which I imagine they will have equally high goals for. Moto 360 got the ugly problem fixed, but the huge and battery problems remain.

Battery life taking priority is a pattern for Apple. That, combined with size, is why they held out on 3G, and later, LTE for the iPhone for as long as they did while other companies jumped on it immediately.

Unlike the Galaxy Gears, I fully expect the iWatch to not essentially be a smartphone strapped to your wrist.

Yeah that report said that their initial expectations were 4-5 days without charging and that prototypes were doing a day or two. With the Moto 360 not even lasting a day seemingly, anything over 24 hours is going to be a triumph.

One of the problems I'd have with a watch is that if have to take it off every night to charge it. Especially something that expensive. Also I'd never be able to wear it at work anyway so why bother. With HandOff and continuity I'll have everything I need anyway.

I wear a watch every day and put it on my nightstand anyway so that's hardly a problem for me personally, if they manage to create an elegant charging solution and not just a lightning cable, that is.

But I can't have it dying on me during a long day with normal use. Instant dealbreaker.

i swear i read on mr the watch would have some sort of wireless charging solution, connecting a lightning cable every time would be a bit disappointing

Famous designer Marc Newson (and close friend of Jony Ive) joining Apple’s design team

http://9to5mac.com/2014/09/05/famou...riend-of-jony-ive-joining-apples-design-team/

“Marc is without question one of the most influential designers of this generation,” Ive said in a statement provided to VF Daily. “He is extraordinarily talented. We are particularly excited to formalize our collaboration as we enjoy working together so much and have found our partnership so effective.”

There was one rumor last month that it might. Makes sense if they sell some sort of charging pad, that you could pop your iPhone on there also.

Depending on what the wireless charger/dock looks like, I would imagine you plug a lightning cable into it a la iPhone docks of the past. Based on previous docks they've made for devices I'd guess they'd make something form-fitting just for the watch. But who knows!

Ok, there's something I need cleared up.

Hearing that this event will be "live-streamed" this year. And what does that exactly mean? That I can go on any device I have that can access apple.com and watch the event at 10AM-PST/1PM-EST? Or like every other time that its posted later on to watch? Couldnt people with Macs/Macbooks always do this. If you have a PC are you screwed?

Sorry its just a lil confusing -.-

Only on iOS/OSX devices as usual.

Nothing new.

Might find some unofficial streams but they usually suck.

It will be live streamed at 1PM, but only on Apple devices.

Do these sorts of values hold far past an iPhone 6 release? I need to get rid of my 5 in order to be able to afford a 6...
Nope. They will fall instantly after they announce the new one because people flood the market selling. Right now, only those in the "know" are selling - after Tuesday, the "common folk" will join in.

I just sold my unlocked 64 GB iPhone 5S Slate Gray for $650 today.

Crap. An iPhone 5 with 16 gigs of space and the charger seems to be going for $213 right now... which is all I need it to be at in order to get a phone, assuming that the new ones are $199. What are you doing for a phone in the meantime? Blargh.

thinking more about the watch, I think the rumors of there being different styles and sizes (and prices) will be true.

I don’t think they’ll try a one size fits all approach. I might be wrong, but that’s my prediction.
