Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes PC specs released

Of course it is. Remember Ground Zeroes was suppose to be part of TPP. They cut it out and sold it separately. Same engine, same game so same specs.

I doubt it, TPP looks much larger. It's going to need both streaming of much larger areas and a lot more AIs, plus in the videos it looks like there have been further improvements to the lighting that aren't in GZ. Hopefully those improvements are backported to the PC version of GZ though.

I don't know, man! From the jump, they've said things like "Ground Zeroes isn't Project Ogre." So, I'm not entirely sure. But hey, the specs will be more of less the same - in all likelihood, I agree.

ehhhh... i wouldn't be terribly surprised if TPP required more horsepower. or at least scales back more for the low end with TPP. yeah it's the same engine, but they've certainly been working on it to add a lot of features (weather, time of day change, guards with dynamic behaviors, shift changes throughout the day, worlds that are much much larger than GZ, AI, wildlife AI, etc etc) that seem like they'll demand more from the hardware.

perhaps they even just shifted the anticipated requirements for TPP to GZ because of this. meaning GZ will run on lower end systems below the minimum, but TPP won't. just speculation on my part, but it's not as simple as GZ = part of TPP

I must be living under a rock because this thread is the first time I've heard of either this, or TPP coming to PC. That's pretty fucking awesome, thought I was out of the metal gear world after dumping consoles.

There's a pretty decent difference in lighting complexity and reflections. I'm impressed the PC game isn't a straight port of the PS4.

I'm very impressed by enhanced lighting and draw distance. Ambient occlusion seems different on PC as well. Bigger draw distance is certainly gonna feel better in TPP as well.

Holy crap, there's a massive (massive) LOD distance difference in that first shot.
(I made it easier to compare here)

It's impossible to say anythign about IQ with this source, obviously, but the LOD difference is staggering.

Nice. I'm happy they didn't just port it and add a resolution adjustment option. Those comparisons are clearly different, especially the first one. More draw distance on objects, lights and shadows and in the second, there's more reflections and lit surfaces.

I hope it sells well on PC because it seems they're going to deserve the sales.

Wow...... that's pretty amazing. Thanks for making the comparison.

wow, yeah. the difference is incredible. there should be very minimal pop-in issues. i hope this means they've improved on the console side as well for TPP

- Window Mode
- Resolution
- Display
- Not sure what this refers to exactly.
- Framerate
- Model detail
- Textures
- Texture filtering
- Shadow
- Lighting
- Screen filtering
- Effects (these last two are post-processing, I guess).
Its v-sync.

Thats a big difference. What I noticed:
* Big Level of detail and draw distance difference
* Higher number of shaded lights
* Different ambient occlusion
* Screen space reflections

I wonder what "Display" refers to?

It's too bad we don't have better screens to examine the shading quality of the AO. Maybe it's HBAO+ :p

Given the specs, it's likely i'll be able to play this one in 4k. It's going to be glorious just based on the improvements seen in the LOD alone.

I may even buy Ground Zeros to see how it runs. What's wrong with me lol

Having played nearly 100 hours of GZ on PS4, I won't be getting this on PC just yet. I'll wait for the inevitable GZ/TPP bundle sale. I also need to upgrade my PC so I can play MGSV on max.

Requirements seem reasonable and based on the couple of comparison pictures the graphics are quite a bit improved on PC. Great!

Now we just need MGS HD collection for PC pls Konami

As someone that uses his DS3 controller on PC, why can't these people offer the option to flip triggers/bumpers.

Does anyone know what the install size will be?

I've got a 1Mb connection and need to know how many days I'll be keeping my PC on.

Wow.

If TPP PC releases together with the console version, then I might have to get that one instead of the PS4 version. The difference is pretty great.

Even the foliage draw distance is obviously improved over the PS4 version. Grassgate 2.0 incoming?

This bodes well for TPP PC version being the best version by miles.

This is surprising that there is such a drastic difference.

I would have thought that the 8GB RAM in these consoles would have helped for things such as LOD.
