Street Fighter 5 exclusively on one platform would be a megaton ?

I dunno. I had SF4, AE and Ultra all on PC and I never fail to find a fight when I want a quick online blast.

I'm sure it is a much smaller presence, and maybe the mystical "FGC" aren't on PC, but a bunch of people do still play the game on it.

This. It'll do just fine on PC, hell, even more so now there's no Xbox version (for now).

yeah, a 1v1 game with only 1 mode doesn't need a huge population. i can get a game anytime i want, what more do i need?

Well done.

Now that it's exclusive, will there be arcade sticks licensed to go along with it? I'm guessing yes.

does the pope shit in the woods?

I'm not a fan of fighting games especially SF but I'm glad for fighting fans that platform holders like Sony and MS are showing more interest in the games. I don't think SF will sell consoles to anyone but diehard fans and maybe that's more than I think.

Yeah I know it's coming to PC but I chuckled.

lol, well, I said there was a chance it would be a timed console exclusive, which it probably is. :D And it's coming to PC, so I don't feel I missed the mark that much ;p

I don't know what people are gloating about its still not exclusive.

It is where it matters (a Fighter will sell tons more on a console than a PC obviously).

As a PC owners myself, I am pretty much at peace that the platform wars are actually console wars, as PC sales matter most to PC owners. But to the larger market (beside some specific genras like MMOs, MOBAs, Wargames and Sims), it's all about consoles.

So yes, it actually is a console exclusive wether you like it or not (at least for now), and for fighter fans (not one myself) it probably is a pretty big deal.

Well, Microsoft acquired Dead Rising 3 exclusive and Tomb Raider 2 in a timed exclusive, so you never know. Sony does need a legitimate counter for Killer Instinct also. I still have my doubts it will be PS4 exclusive admittedly.

I believe MS published DR3 so the odds of that coming to PS4 seem kind of unlikely.

What were the sales of SF4? Just curious how popular it is outside of "hardcore" gamers.

Injustice - current gen console exclusive
Guilty Gear Xrd - Arc didn't bother with xbone
Street Fighter V - console exclusive

Does Sony have a marketing deal for Mortal Kombat X? They should try to get something exclusive with DOA5 last round to get those players over to their side.

But Sony basically has the console fighting community locked down.

Only speculations.

This thread is mainly to know if the Street Fighter IP is still very popular and if an exclusive Street Fighter can be a system seller. I don't have any infos about it.

Still, Street Fighter 5 exclusive on PS4 is indeed possible.

So personnaly i think that Street Fighter 5 can be exclusive on one platform, i would like to know what will be your reactions if it happens ?
ARE YOU A WIZARD!?!??!?

I know people keep saying that this isn't exclusive, but... the FGC just doesn't play on PC that much. The vast majority play console. Even with the port, the PC community doesn't compare to the console.

So sure, technically it's exclusive, but if you're in the competitive scene, you've most likely just became a PS4 owner if you haven't already. The PC community just doesn't really factor in here.

At least it is easier to convince friends to get it for PC to play with them than trying to convince them to get a PS4 and then the game. Most people have a PC.

I don't really follow fighting games. Are they still big these days?

Not really, apart from Smash Bros which has grown as the more accessible fighter, it is still a very niche genre most don't wanna do with because of the learning curve that usually goes in before you are even considered adequate at playing.

MKX was shown at Sony's E3 presser, so it's likely there's a marketing deal.

It's on PC and PS4. Two platforms. So not exclusive.

I expect to see a ton of posts like this but for all intents and purposes it is exclusive. Yes they tossed PC owners a bone but it doesn't matter at all. PC will sell less than a fraction of the Console version. Also where it really counts looking for competitive matches and at EVO it will be all but exclusive. No one is going to try to learn how to play the game with mouse and keyboard or any controller outside of a DS4 as that is what will be used at tournaments unless people bring fightsticks. (which most competitive players do.)

This is a huge get.

A lot of fighting game tournament organizers are making the switch to PC. Why?

Because the big name sponsors are there already and the fgc wants some of that money.

I'd predict in a few years, EVO will be more than half run on PCs.

Very doubtful but we will see.

Kinda bummed at the exclusivity honestly. This isn't healthy for the franchise.

Soul Calibur 3 was exclusive and it kinda flopped. This was when its prequel was multiplatform and was at its peak success.

It really makes no sense especially given the history of this franchise being a multiplatform one.

I'm platform agnostic honestly, so I will play it, but it seems like a genuine misstep honestly on Capcom's part.

It's not a true exclusive though, it will still come to PC and arcade.

X1 is the only one not getting it.

I wonder if this recent news gives credence to the idea that Crash could make a return as well. I didn't think so at first, but now that I think about it, there have definitely been some strong hints.

Valle already made the complete switch on WNF.

It's coming.

No dual modding of sticks, no converters. Plug your stick in and go.

Not bad still doubt it takes everywhere being CPU locked at Wednesday night fights is pretty good. Then again I am sure that was a sponsored switch which machines is he running?
