I haven't seen the math on 130/135 shields but I'm having difficulty imagining they are anywhere near 10% damage overall mitigated in a fight like SP. I wasn't sure if he thought shields gave extra defense or if he thought blocks actually equaled SP either, but that was my original thought to his statement I quoted as well.

Off-hand, it would be pretty close to SP ... for auto-attacks. Maybe. I dunno, I'd have to see logs and stuff. Still, it's just not comparable to "hey, everything is less!"

I have no idea what you are even arguing for at this point, are you under the impression people are saying not to use Storm's Path? Man I got enough trouble convincing our WAR to keep it up 100% as is.

time to go NIN so he can always keep up Path instead

Warriors should focus on Storm's Eye so that Maple stops yapping about having to do 1% less damage imooooooo.

On second thought...

See Scy, do you really want Ifrit to get dragon kick, then you'll get MNKs complaining all day you aren't using it enough.

On second thought some more...

Phones auto correct turned paladin into Playstation for or some reason.

Anyhow, this began as a response to a comment about SP being nerfs, or rather how a certain person was surprised it hadn't been nerfed.

My rebuttal, which I probably haven't expressed very well, is, given the relatively small number of abilities Warriors do have to outright mitigate damage in the MT position, it wouldn't make sense to nerf the tools that we do have.

I mean yeah, in OT position the utility we bring might be a bit disproportionate, but you couldn't nerf those abilities much without heavily handicapping Wars forthe MT position

Quite a jump in design quality from LotA.

Carbon and WoD gear weekly flags will be split.
Will also drop items for crafters to make into weapons.

Not showing healer gear again! What's wrong with you!

I hope World of Darkness has more thought into it's design than the lackluster Syrcus Tower. Maybe we'll see three tanks actually be used? Players might have to coordinate with each other? The possibilities are limitless! :p

The actual art looks pretty damn cool tho.

A lot of minigames, Triple Triad against AI and friends, you use some kinda untradeable coins that you can buy with gil to a certain limit so gil whales aren't at an advantage, but they wanted to explicitly avoid casino feel not to get banned in the face in certain countries.

Cards can drop from dungeons and other battle content (Nael card pls), be bought with GS coins and won from NPCs.

Card designs based on characters from all history of Final Fantasy as opposed to just Eorzea.

Cannot win or lose cards between other players.

Yes, but on different lockouts.

From the equipment? So you are locked to 1 CT3 armour piece, and 1 Carbon/Tomestone?

If that's the case, I'm happy about it. Won't invalidate them from Final Coil. Especially if they increase the drop rate from Final Coil like the last time.

That's what they made it sound like. They felt sharing the lockout in CT2 made people ignore the gear too much in favor of upgrading items.
I dunno if Tomestones are actually in because there's gonna be new crafting items to be made into weapons in WoD. Maybe both.

They said either separate lockouts or a new item system. Upgrade items and Special Gear/Item drops from CT will be separate because they didnt like how people didnt get the new gear because they only wanted the upgrade item.

I'm still trying to figure out what Tia is trying to argue for the last page?

That Storm's Path is same as a Paladin with Shield Oath? Huh? Or is he trying to argue he doesn't need to use Storm's Path 100%?

The SMN itemization is BRUTAL. Our SMN has like 600 acc (from Weapon, Dread Head, Dread Body) and even more spell speed. Definitely not optimal.

I think last run he called out for ballard earlier than the healers but I may have mis-heard.

He is doing some crazy damage though with this new gear set compared to before, but that may just be about adding the weapon damage from ironworks.

Crit/Det will now be replace with piety for caster gear.

Piety can actually be a really good stat for BLM if stacked enough. There's a video out there of an extra fire rotation due to piety gearing on crafted gear and his DPS was over 500 over a while I believe.

Think it's still better to stop at the 251 Piety or whatever breakpoint, though I'm not a BLM so dunno.

As for SMN, Piety is essentially our third stat to meld for. If I could go back (and afford it), I'd do all my pentamelds with IVs with a single Piety slotted for everything I have crafted left side + more Piety on my Zodiac.

Yeah, 251 gets you 5 and you would need 337 I believe for 6?

You've got another relic grind in you. Do it!

Appointed myself official interior decorator of my FC's house. It was honestly hard to go in there it was so bad. Ended up spending like half a million gil on nonsense but it was mandatory expenditures as far as I'm concerned.

Based on the patch schedule until now, any guesses when can we expect the first part of 2.5 to hit?

Considering Yoshida is meant to be at an event at the end of January and all the info has honestly been said about the patch at this point other than fc crafting, no doubt he will announce the patch at said event.

Someone want to send a friend recruitment thinger so you can get the rewards? No guarantee that I'll play for 90 days but it's fairly likely so if you don't have the mount and want it let me know.

I'll PM you my e-mail if that's what's needed. My new user name since somehow they completely botched my first account is now LordWibble.

Edit: If you send a PM probably best to also quote/reply to this so someone else doesn't follow right behind. I'll be gone for a bit and won't be able to alert when I first get a reply.

Did they say if GS coins can be obtained from Mogstation? That's probably my biggest fear.

Cards dropping from dungeons/monsters sounds neat, time for ten thousand AC runs to get Diablos card.
