Q5: Will additional fees be required in addition to our monthly subscription to access all the content in the Gold Saucer?

A5: No, there will not be. Everything will be handled with in-game currency. We intentionally made it so it wouldn't get mixed up with things like online casinos, so we can avoid the hurdles of ratings and laws for each country. Players will be able purchase a new type of currency called Manderville Gold Saucer points using gil, but these are untradeable and cannot be sold on the market.

You can buy eternal bracelets and metal dyes with gil too. I'm going to remain skeptical about this until they come right out and state definitely that GS won't be linked to cash shop nonsense.

Also here's our groups t13 kill for the five people who care. Spoilers obviously. Quite possibly my worst

This is a bit more reassuring, if they want to avoid being associated with casinos then having it tied with real money would be a big no-no.

You can't buy it "directly" so to speak, but...

Bingo. And since a good majority of dyable gear is tradeable, you can very easily get dyes only from retainer/cash shop with gil for a lot of popular glamours.

I'm really enjoying the look of the game. I've played WoW off-and-on for eight years so it's neat trying out another MMO and trying to get used to its systems. I've barely had time to toy around, just hit level 2 on my pugilist I started and that's been running errands and doing silly little jobs in the city,

I'm going into this essentially blind. I've seen a little bit of the game awhile back but I honestly don't recall if this is a game that uses the tank, healer, dps thing or if it's one of those that tries to bypass that. From the eight classes I couldn't tell really which would be meant for what. I sort of picked mine because it seemed it would be an active melee role which is what I'm familiar with from my main on WoW. But I guess a single character can end up playing every class? Sounds interesting.

That is all I could find more or less.

So excited about Golden Saucer and Triple Triad now :D I was addicted to it in FFVIII and since there isn't really a game to beat here unlike in FFVIII, I imagine I'll be even more addicted in FFXIV.

I'm right now thinking, patch 2.5 part 1 by the start of Feb, 2.51 a few weeks after and 2.5 part 2 by End of March/Start of April with the expansion releasing by Mid May/End of May. (Spring so May seems like the month as June is more considered Summertime I'd say).

Just my prediction for now but the upcoming patches look great :D

Astrologian looks cool. If I go back to playing, I might play that as my healer instead of SCH, and play SMN for my DPS instead. I love DoTs.
