Super Mario Collection amiibo series
New amiibo collection also announced: Super Mario Collection. Release date is March 20, contains following amiibo:

- Mario
- Luigi
- Bowser
- Peach
- Yoshi
- Toad

They're compatible with Mario Party 10 and you can use them to unlock a new game piece and game board related to the amiibo character. You can also use the Smash Bros. amiibo for duplicate characters. Aside from the above 6 amiibo, Rosalina, Wario and Donkey Kong are also supported.

The Toad amiibo can be used to unlock new challenges in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It will unlock a new game mode, such as "hide and seek", where you have to look for pixel images of Toad hidden throughout the stage.

Also, a Marth amiibo reprint was announced for America.

Want Pacman, but yeah its begun... Making special versions of amiibos. While I would love them all, I just can't deal with all of them AND special editions of each. I'm only in for characters I like/play most of in SSB.

And you need a toad amiibo to unlock a new mode for captain toad, they're locking modes behind amiibos now. Before it was just nice little extras, hope its not a thing they'll do a lot. Espicially if that amiibo will become OOS quickly and dlc will be lost to most.

As I understand it: From a connectivity standpoint, they're the same, but visually, they'll have a different posture and possibly a slightly different model..
