If I learned anything from Amazing Spider Man and Future Past, non Marvel Studios can still be good.

absolutely. i mean, outside of X3 every mainline X-Men movie was really solid. i have no desire to see the mutants in the MCU.

Spider-Man needs a little shaking up after ASM2, but ASM1 proves the studio can handle it.

but this... this is terrible. having FF locked away and used as a license to slap on an otherwise neat looking sci fi movie is a travesty.

i don't care if this is a good or a bad movie, i just want it to lose a ton of money.

Fox studio bosses are not pleased with how The Fantastic Four has turned out, with it being described by some as "Chronicle 2 rather than Fantastic 4." The site adds that a well-connected senior executive has told them that The Fantastic Four is a "mess" and that there is some major "disquiet" behind the scenes in regards to the current state of the movie. As a result, expensive reshoots are apparently being demanded, with set in Louisiana being rebuilt to accomodate these.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

There's no smoke without fire but it's the degree to which this all went down which is the real story.

Reading some of the stuff about Trank has a definite feeling of 'purple monkey dishwasher' about it,.

I don't see the same insane level of obsession from Batman fans here. I have seen actual posters here claim the ONLY movies they will go see in theaters are all the Marvel Studios movies. The Marvel fanboys are the most rabid and in your face type fanboys here these days, no question. Literally even the smallest piece of Marvel Studios news gets it own thread.

Okay, that's batshit if true.

The movie is Fantastic 4... and there's a dude on fire. Every one who knows who the Fantastic 4 will know who he is.

Your criticisms are not legit. They things you "want". They are not critical of the movie. You take what's there and examine. You don't say what you want and call this movie bad because you saw the trailer.

What... is wrong with Johnny's casting? Micheal. B Jordan is a great actor. He even has the charm of Johnny. He is top tier Johnny if you wanted to hire someone.

A super hero cannot be dark in tone? Why not? If it's done right then what's the issue? It's not faithful? To be honest, if you wanted a faithful adaption then go watch the 2000-era Fantastic 4 movies. You WILL love those if you love the comics. *wink wink nudge nudge*

Protip: most comics if made into a faithful movie will be hokey and garbage.
You and I both know why he doesn't like the casting...

Wasn't interested before, not interested now.

It will be interesting to see how Fox manages things as I will be utterly shocked if this does anywhere near what DoFP did for them.

Amazing Spider Man 2 on the other hand...

Agreed, the X-Men movies have been solid beside 3 and Wolverine which was a dire time. I want that to stay with Fox because I think X-Men being in their own universe is a little more interesting.

Movie reshoots/pickups are par for the course these days.

It looks far more interesting than that Ant man trailer. I'll have to see how I like the Man of steel vibe when I actually see it

Also as for the thing not wearing pants, that scene looks like it's from when they are still on the negative zone whic would be early on. So if he just changed, he wouldn't have clothes

Ah, yes, Rich Johnston, who has never been wrong about anything before.

If it's a good movie, who cares? It's not like anyone really gives a shit about F4 anyway.

Jebus. Star Wars locked some good folks. So Trank is likely doing the Boba Fett spinoff? The only one I hear people talk about is the heist one.

It's hard to say, since there's nothing but rumors flying around so far, but my take on it is that the first spinoff is actually the heist movie AND the Boba Fett movie AND the young Han movie. In other words, Fett is part of the crew that steals the Death Star plans and, being a crew of smugglers and bounty hunters, they eventually cross paths with Han at some point for some reason.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

What's really weird is that post is copied and pasted verbatim from some place else (Bleeding Cool I think?).

It looks really neat! A very hard science fiction take on the story. It looks radically different from any superhero movie out there, and it is in that the reason i'm pretty excited for it.

I do, and I assume anyone who is saying "I don't like the way the trailer looks, it doesn't fit the tone of the Fantastic Four." probably gives a shit too.

Stop pretending like a complete tonal shift isn't a valid thing to complain about when you're talking about an adaptation of something.

Think with head!!! Mess means story is bad. This is not Fantastic Four movie.
So you lost. movie already failed and looks cheap and a lot worse than the amazing spider-man 2.

Terrible. Fox should have a FF summit high up in the mountains of Switzerland where they will present Based Feige our Lord and Savior with a gold briefcase that contains the Fantastic Four license along with a handwritten apology for what they have put him and the rest of te MCU through these last few years.

Priority should be whether the movie is good first. Nobody will give a shit about a movie, that might be close or faithful to the source material, if it's shit.

I quite liked the teaser, at least it piqued my interest considering I've never cared for the F4 period. Looking forward to seeing more.

Last sentence doesn't make sense.

Then why make a movie called The Fantastic Four?

To make people care? F4 already had two campy comic-booky movies and they flopped. They're trying something different.

Am I wrong? Is Fantastic Four actually super popular and I just wasn't aware?

I don't follow comic books so from an outside perspective they're just goofy comic book heroes. They don't have the same mindshare as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Cap, Batman, Superman, etc.

Nintendo makes great, sometimes revolutionary genre or even industry-defining games. You can see why there's fanboyism behind it.
You cut part of my message out with regards to Nintendo, I don’t disagree with anything you have said about them, just that the fans who proclaim that only Nintendo can make fun games anymore (Have seen this on and off for a long time here) are the bad ones, that’s all :)

It's only a complete tonal shift if you don't think this is borrowing heavily from Ultimate Fantastic Four.

That looks more interesting than I expected. The news of reshoots sounds like they're going to push for something more in the Marvel tone which I'm not all that interested in.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
I don't like Miles Teller, but I'm willing to give this a chance.

Looks better than what I originally envisioned.

Yet again Doom is just Reed's friend turned enemy? Why do they have to go down that road again? Doom is not some prep boy who went to college with Reed. Doom's the gaddam dictator of Latveria who demands your tribute!
