Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

This game is a drug!! I havent been hook into a game for so long. Cant wait for new maps and modes. Finally began to learn to rack points and to use various weapons :) sometimes it depends on the team (some teams I been to suck ..roller stop trying to just kill people!!).

So glad I bought it, newphew and niece got into the game too. At first she was all 'pffft, all you do is paint?' (She is 15) but then...yeah she played and was screaming about her team and the kills :P

I do hope the add local stuff to and not just online stuff.

Gotta say, had no real desire to mess with this game.. wasn't feeling the Nickelodeon style, not really into competitive shooters, didn't quite get it. Man am I glad to have picked it up after positive early impressions. So much fun. Feels great to control, full of personality and polish, the concept is brilliant and 3 minute matches are a perfect length.

Still not sure the package out of the gate is a $60 product but the promise of continued support makes me excited to have a reason to keep returning. I guess the fact that it's been pulling me away from The Witcher on a weekend I'd planned to do nothing but witch around means it's been worth it for me.

Someone's gonna have to explain how the Blaster works for me cause this thing feels like garbage right now. It feels more like a support weapon.

I don't think it's viable in turf war but it may shine in ranked battles or splat zone. It's basically a weapon that goes for kills rather than covering ground.

Edit: Gg gaia, violet, and sys. Holy crap 30k to add a slot to your gear... I don't have 3 star gears with Max unlock to check how much reroll cost.

Aww yeah, hit lvl10. Done my part!

Game keeps getting better. Right now I'm rolling with the..eh, roller. It's actually so much fun, and as long as you don't go into head-on fights you can do great.

Yeah this game is super fun, I've become a bit bored of multi-player games as of the last few years but man this is something different. Hopefully I can get games with some of you here, so far I've been playing against hype JP players.

getting better able to hit 1200pts a few times and loving it

had a few matches where we won while one kid was standing on base doing nothing at all

I hate those guys who walk away from the gamepad during matches hold your pee!

Isnt ranked battles the same as Turf War and Splat Zone?

Yea, the Blaster isn't very effective at covering ground, but it is a good weapon to stop people in their tracks when trying to go around the corner or come up some where.
So ranked matches is an exlusive mode that plays differently?
Ranked Battles is where all of the new modes will be, including Splat Zones. It doesn't seem like Regular Battles will get those modes.

Meant to say Ranked has no Turf War in that post, my bad.

Ok fuck scope chargers. The zoom is so annoying and messes with my aim. How can anyone play with that?
I've been trying it and I like it more than the normal charger. The added range and the sub weapon help you cover more ground and is much better for taking out enemies safely.

I would like ranked.

Casual mode is full of a mix of lvl 20 and people who get 0 points an entire game. Makes for a joke of an experience. Game needs matchmaking asap.

Made it to rank 9 before the clusterfuk so I'll just finish the last few worlds of sp.

Ah ok, then i understand :)

Absolutely. You only get points in Splat Zones if you win. Turf War is the casual mode. And Ranked Battles has it's own ranking system.
Understood. I thought at first that ranked matches was the normal modes, only that you had a grade/rank to manage (making playing a bit more serious).

Is anyone else annoyed how the framerate ranges from 20 fps to 30fps while walking around in the hub world?

Also how do I share tags (drawings/text) with other people in the hub world?

Are the primary bonuses for gear always the same?
Yes.

Yea, it is annoying. Though I'm only in the hub world when talking to Spyke lol.

I think you have to submit your post through the mailbox (next to Judd) to do that.
How about the number of stars in the shop?
Yes.

You can increase the number of slots by paying 30K to Spyke once you've reached lvl20.

Points are directly related to exp gained.

It's unacceptable that a random dude can go 0-5 and score higher than me, who went 9-0.

Kills halt an enemy from spraying paint, which is HUGE considering how quick you can cover an area.

But no, the moron who dies but never kills gets more credit because his weapon covers crap more.

I single handedly defended the entire bottom area in Saltspray Rig with a charger, and I'm in last for the team.

This game rewards hyper players who don't understand defence. Migrating all over the map is pointless if what you just covered is taken by the enemy because you choose not to defend it.

If a vital area is secured, I'm planting my ass down and defending it. Securing territory does not need all 4 players, as that leaves you open for a flank attack. I make sure what we take, stays taken. And I should get credit (and exp) for doing so!

This guy...

Just chilling for a while!

Is there any point to killing the enemy? Wouldnt you just rack up more points by letting the enemy cover your area, so that you can cover it again?

It can be useful to get a push forward but it's not worth going out your way to kill someone.

If I get in a sticky firefight that I just jump or swim away and go paint somewhere else. Not worth the effort.

For the team win, it's tactical with kills since it stop the enemy to paint. Extremely tactical during the last minute, I'd say.

He's not wrong. That's how I play and if it's succesful we win the match. That said I don't really care about points. They're a good motivator to make people paint though.

Although you can easily get impressive scores on Saltspray Rig as a charger too. There's huge amount of area to cover. Even if you stay in the most obvious spot.

Creating a game that awards for kills and objective is extremely difficult.

We are all conditioned to kill the enemy and if they awarded for kills in this game people will just say fuck the objective.

I rather it this way.

If your playstyle(defense) allows you to win then do it. Take the 300 win bonus for your trouble.
