If you're charging through the map to cover the enemy base without securing the middle first, the opposing team is going to spawn closer to your ink than you are. They can just cover it up on the way to the middle, and your time will be effectively wasted.

Charging past the middle will get you a lot of points, but it's terrible for your team. Having a lone wolf who repeatedly charges into the enemy base isn't much better than having a three player team.

Ok, so what if it's not a lone wolf, and everybody charges in, or notices your position in the base and jumps to you?

Seriously, this is an incredibly effective tactic. I have to believe you've never tried it, or you just have difficulty staying alive in enemy territory.

My favorite thing is Walleye Warehouse, if you can get into their base and claim that hallway that's to the left as you're leaving base. It's a great vantage point to ink the side over there, and they will have a REALLY tough time dislodging you from there.

Look up what you can get with the amiibo and determin if it's worth unboxing.
There is also the possibility of them extending the support to other games.
What makes the Fire Emblem amiibo valuable to many is that they unlock playable characters in Codename S.T.E.A.M and Fire Emblem if.
We didn't even know about that when they were initially released.

?????

In order to cover up the opponent's base, you have to travel through your own territory to get to there, likely die on the way because you haven't secured the middle yet, and start covering opposing ink.

In order for your opponents to cover it up, they have to travel through their own territory and shoot at it.

Because you're calculating that you're starting from base and that's silly because even if you're not charging ahead you do need to transverse that space. You have to consider then what you're charging ahead you're starting from uncovered or enemy territory. Then the time it takes for you to ink and for them to reink is the same.

Violet your lag is getting insane. Being splatted by your Inkooza three seconds after I kill you on my screen. There's nothing to dodge.

It's a very effective tactic in the last ~20-30 seconds of a match. I do it nearly every match when I'm not playing sniper, and it's sometimes the difference between winning and losing.

Any earlier than that, and enemies are just going to respawn and cover it up.

Holy shit... Our team was losing pretty bad and we were all at a choke point near our base. I superd and got the inkzooka, managed to get a team wipe and we beat the other time by quite a margin.

This is why I don't mind covering the base first. I'm pretty sure you get your super quicker by covering enemy ink, so I make sure home is covered then, pop my super and slowly move up and start taking back territory. After a fire fight I've usually got another super ready to go.

Getting up in their base means they have to deal with you, giving your teammates more time behind you to ink up the choke point and get set up.

Seriously I have wasted so much of the enemy's time by holding a good position in or near their base as they try to kill me. This strategy might not work as well later if people start to take the hint that they can be more effective elsewhere, but until then, I'll continue pressing the advantage and being a nuisance to the enemy team.

What you're describing here is your team already controlling middle and you pushing and harassing as your team sets up behind you, which sounds fine. I'm only saying that middle comes first, then extending is probably more viable than extending, then middle.

If you already control middle, yes, it's absolutely fine to push forward. We're describing completely different situations.

One big issue with this game is not being able to switch weapons without backing out of the general group you're playing with. If my entire team has rollers and I want to switch to a gun, I switch and then my entire new team has only guns. Pretty dumb.

How do you charge forward while not inking along the way? Let's say your whole team is being spawn camped, and you, with some agility and luck, manage to break through and ink all the way from your base to their base. It takes the same time for them to reink what you inked. The basic idea that for some reason it takes less time for them to reink what you inked is false.

On the plus side, games start back so quickly.

There is almost no downtime. The dev don't have to put some 30+ second timer to accommodate people that want to sit and decide and decide on a weapon.

I don't know I charge forward a lot without getting the middle first, I just let my teammates get the middle, it also slows down the enemy a lot when your in their territory because everyone has a tendency to want to ink there side so if I'm there long enough my teammates usually catch up, I also am usually at the top of the leaderboards too

Hey guys, I currently am playing... still at level 8. I always get lowest points in team play, any advice to get much higher points like in 1000's? Any weapon recommendations?

My NNID is CoasterFreak285 if anyone wish to add me. Just let me know who you are in NeoGAF. :-)

You're always going to be at the top of the leaderboards if you're constantly inking things that get reinked, and then ink those things again. If your teammates are already controlling middle, you're fine. There's nothing wrong with pushing forward assuming the middle is getting got.

Do you know that only floors count?

Are you serious? I paint walls. :(

Paint all the things! If you're not confident with your aim using a Roller (Krak-On is really good) will help a lot. You can cover a lot of ground very quickly, sneaking around and painting the enemy's side takes people time and keeps them out of the fight, you can win games just by disrupting them and if they don't realize it then you've just painted a ton of real estate.

So as long as an inkstrike is launched before the match ends, does the ink it places count?

I've seen more than a few times now where the match ends, and a big circle of the opponents ink appears just before Judd reveals the results.

It's fine if you can survive long enough. If you can you're just hurting your team. The other team can reink your progress incredibly fast if your in their base, no?

I just hate when rollers shoot off and don't cover home base. Or if gunners stay behind and shoot the ground. That's when you know you're playing with a confused bunch.
