Holy hell. First ranked match today, and we got REKT. SO bad. They went from 100 to zero with no interruptions. I have never seen a team in such disarray. *backs out of lobby*

Every day at midnight.

Which I still don't know how I feel about this. I guess I get why they do it. And like Map rotations, I like it in theory. I just wish when leveling up, there were more "unlocks" besides weapons. Now that I'm level 20 now, it doesn't matter that much. It can be frustrating though if you aren't happy with your clothes, and you wait an entire day. Then the refresh doesn't have anything you like.

Spike orders can help with this, if you find someone with a piece you really like.

Ranked at C- is a shit show as far as teammates go. I didn't start getting decent teammates until I hit C+

Fuck this game and fuck rated

You sure we weren't on the same team? LOL

That was one of the worst ranked match's I've ever been apart of.

It's like a pit where you can't crawl out of. I'll win ONE match, then lose 5. Will win 2 in a row, then go on a losing streak. I can't seem to maintain a winning streak (and keep a C rank). I know I need to get better, but jeez it can be a bummer.

I dunno but playing with 1.5K ping in general is amazing. This game's lag comp is broken.

This doesn't apply to the Japanese though, they don't lag nearly that much. In fact when playing each other they probably have sub-50 ping and often sub-30. Whereas Americans often have pure shit net that is incomprehensibly shitty (Used to have one of those connections myself :3)
Their connections are most likely great, but when they play against us peasant Americans (by Americans I mean people in the America continent, not only US people), both them and us here might suffer from lag.

Or at least that is how I explain only having delay when I am interacting with Japanese players (and one specific gaffer).

The R-stick as lattitude-only controls is probably messing with the muscle-memory of people accustomed to dual stick aiming. I've always found that scheme unsatisfying so I've been at home with Splatoon's controls. It just feels so forgiving. Shove the stick approximately left or right and I'll turn quickly then I can always hone in on my target by tilting the controller.

My guess is that they want vertical aiming to "snap" back. Horizontal control is for two things, aiming and orientation for movement. Vertical control is for only one thing: aiming. When you turn to the side using the stick you probably want to stay that way, to keep walking in that direction. If you used the stick to look up, though, you'd effectively "reset" the neutral position for the tilt controls. You'd have to either use the stick to tilt back down, or hit the Y button to reorient. By making it tilt-only, the view snaps back naturally as you rest the gamepad back down.

That's a pretty good point actually. It would be disorientating that you put the gamepad back to neutral position but you're still facing upwards or downwards.

Just had a game where a team was coming back fast and we managed to stall them to timeout exactly to the point where they had 1 second left before they took the lead. Feels so good.

The map rotation happens every 4 hours regardless of your own time or time zone, it's triggered online for everyone. However, the stores restock at midnight your time no matter what...I don't think it's tied to the internet at all. So I think you could probably set your Wii U clock ahead to buy more things quickly, if you have the money for it. Similar to Animal Crossing time change shenanigans.

Just encountered that guy who lagged so hard, he literally moved only every 2 sec and then was stuck in a position.
Then when you kill him, you get the message "you splatted X" 2/3 sec after.

I understand this. It doesn't make it any less annoying though. I'm frankly sick of running into a team that just pops their bubble and Kraken over and over. It's just not fun to play against. Invincibility buffs are silly.

Can the bubble transfer to a teammate who is a kraken?

For people who want to give motion controls a shot but are used to dual-sticks I recommend playing the single-player using motion controls. You won't feel as pressured as in vs mode and it'll eventually become second nature.

I can't say I've had much trouble against invincible buffs. Especially Kraken which is extremely easy to avoid if you see it coming and you have your own ink around you. In general just retreat for a few seconds or don't let them sneak up on you.

I got it, but have yet to play it. The only experience I've had with it was at E3, but I loved it.

That said, I dreamed I was playing it today. Haha.

Also Kraken is only deadly when it jumps in which case it leaves the area below it uninked. It's avoidable but so panic inducing in close quarters that I mess up more often than I should.

Goddamn, when you get to B- everyone gets so good and has nearly perfect aim, even while jumping and shooting. I'm just getting destroyed. Went 4-12 last game lol

All the super laggers I've encountered, not taking into account my 1.5+K ping adventures (Thanks, router) have had English names. Yeah, I get 200-ish ping or so with the Japanese but it's not much better with Europeans and those pings are still usually manageable in this game.

A certain GAF sniper that kills me when I'm not even close to being in his line of fire, though, and my net *is* actually behaving for once... Not naming any names though.

You can't do this -- the stock refreshes at 12PM in your time zone no matter what your Wii U's time is set to.

B- is full of hungry people trying to get the prestige... Until Nintendo™ happens and we get a match full of Cs and C+s who were carried hardcore and mess up your perks after winning (exp averaging yaaaay) or your ability to win. :lol

Yeah, I think it's important to have awareness of the area/preparation of ink. Bubblers usually don't have range, so it's tough for them to chase you down if you're not getting ambushed. Also, assume any roller is a kraken and be prepared to run.

All we can do is hope regional matchmaking is added in a future patch, then.

That might or might not be the gaffer I was talking about.

When there's that one guy that's clueless and dies repeatedly on the enemy team and you're laughing at it

Then he gets put on your team

Screw you, Charlie

I began using the .96 Gal yesterday, I was used to the Aerospray and zapper and it took some time to get used to the cadence and no-spread but man is this weapon awesome!

Splatfests are coming.

I usually leave lobbies that I feel are unbalanced.

Something else to note is that you can see when a player has their special available (I think it's like a fire on their head). So approach with caution.
