Metroid Prime Federation Force Announced (Next Level, 3DS, 4 Player, Mission Based)

This screenshot reminds me of Jet Force Gemini...a N64 game.

I know you are talking about graphically (and you are correct), but it hurts that you put an amazing game like JFG in the same category with this.... thing

I was talking shit in the Nintendo direct thread about how salty everyone was being...then this shit showed up and I flipped my keyboard and walked away.

I love Next Level Games, but this just looks embarassing. Take a look at Kid Icarus: Uprising, or their own Luigi's Mansion 2... It may be fun, but it's unexciting as fuck as of right now. Prove me wrong Treehouse.

This is what Metroid Prime: Hunters looks like running in the DS2X emulator at high resolution:

The game has shockingly good looking textures for a DS game.
Yeah I would pay to play a Metroid game that looks like that on the 3DS not this weird game that doesn't deserve having Metroid Prime on the title.

This thread cements Metroid Gaf as the most entitled fandom.

It's a spinoff, stop moping around, it's not a real metroid game, it's just a spinoff set in an aproximation of the metroid universe.

Geez, this is almost as bad as y'all bitching about DKCR.

Well what a bummer. I love the premise of 4p co-op in the Metroid universe, but not like this. I don't want to play it on the 3ds at all. Definitely not in first person. I can never organize lan party shit these days. Even if it has online I'm cynical enough at this point to assume there won't be basic online features present. Disappointed all around with this one, feels bad.

Maybe it'll end up being amazing and will get me playing my 3ds again. Maybe.

So, this is obviously blasphemy, but if they are going to turn Prime into an FPS series, should they just go all out big-budget Halo-like FPS?

I really don't know what they're trying to tell fans of the series with this game.

The five people who legitimately enjoyed Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS asked for this. Those are the only people liking the damn video.

My family's former dog ended up eating my copy of MPH before I really made any progress, but what I played wasn't terrible. Oh, well. I'll go back to hoping for a mainline entry.

What I'm seeing in Treehouse doesn't look terrible, either; it's just not...Metroid. Ya dig?

It probably is fun for this type of gameplay.

It's just sad they had to give it the Metroid name, because it will not get a fair shake because of that and Next Level is going to be depressed with so many trashing their game.

I'm watching the Treehouse stream, and:

a) It's unambiguously a spin-off and I find it premature to pronounce main-line Metroid dead. Dismal reception of this title isn't going to scuttle the whole series.

b) That said, I don't expect the online community for this game to be any stronger than the one for Code Name: STEAM.

Looks like a 3DS mini-Evolve. Pretty good fun if they can provide more variety than that.

The name was a mistake.

No, this is like Banjo fans complaining about Nuts and Bolts.

Code Name: Steam also bombed sales.

nintendo should have called it metroid prime: monster hunter
Is this multiplayer game only or I can play this in single player?

i really hope there is proper single player. i would like to play as a helpless marine for once

I'm watching gameplay right now. Seems like a Monster Hunter clone.

I love Monster Hunter and I love Metroid, but it seems like a case of "I love Pizza and I love Milk Shakes, I wouldn't exactly stuff a pizza in a blender to make a Pizza-flavored milk shake".

It'll be stronger given that code name steam was more of a single player game anyway, and this has metroid in the name

I'm just gonna assume this was meant to release alongside a Retro Metroid Prime for Wii U, but they decided to push that one for NX so we're left with a mediocre spin-off. u-u

Seems to be fun, through honestly yeah maybe they should have drop the metroid name. But hey easier to use a existing IP and universe I guess.

If anything, the treehouse demo looks more fun than I expected.

For a DL title, maybe could be cool. But the way it was presented, it was horrible.
