It looks like that's the max right now.
Someone posted on the Community side that they had gear that would average above 170, but are still sitting at 170.

At this point it's ignorance. There is so much information out there on how HUGE this expansion is and we still get posts like this. It's tiring at this point cause to me it's just a means to get a quick shitpost in.
So...
Has the update on PS4 made it hard to use the old disc version for anyone?
I've been swapping between MGS and Destiny for a while, never any issues. Once I updated the PS4 keeps telling me the destiny disc is a) the wrong disc b) it can't be read or c) there IS no disc and clicks around like crazy. Basically I need to press x on the game a half dozen times before it loads, no problems after that.
No problems with MGS. No problem with blu rays.

Seems like a decent update for most people so far, but they've removed more for me than they added. Hopefully the exclusion of daily missions and Vanguard Strikes aren't permanent.
It's got to be 170 because that means that all your weapons and gear including your shell and bond have an attack or armor value of 170.
Pretty much just for fun =P, although the gunsmith should have a bounty today to try out a gun

This is a common PS4 issue. Unplug your PS4 for about 30 seconds then plug it back in. (I did mine for 5 minutes). This also took me 3 tries before it worked, but it did eventually work.
It's capped at 170. You can get 180 class items but even with all 170 + one 180 it shows 170.

No SKU that is just for TTK and the two expansions?
I have the original game via digital download and I really want to try and get back into Destiny. However, I don't need the game...
What's the cheapest route? Legendary digital download I guess?
You can buy ghosts from the speaker and the class items are rewarded for finishing quests handed out by the vanguard people in the tower.

Gamestop is offering $ for a trade in of Vanilla Destiny. use that $ to buy the Legendary edition. I think there is a post about it on the 1st or 2nd page.

Thats... it?! I put Destiny down right after getting to 30 ages ago... there still arent any other large, new planets to explore aside from the launch locations?
Wonder what the ETA is on Destiny 2 and what that might bring... might just end up forgetting about it until then.
If you're digital you're screwed. If you have vanilla destiny in disc form go to game stop trade it in for 20 bucks and get teh legendary edition which comes with all destiny content to date. For 60 dollars. Bam

I have the digital version of Destiny only like I stated.
Pretty much just need to eat the extra cost of the Legendary Edition with vanilla Destiny.

What do you mean by it?
The OP talks about:
- 1 new Destination/Planet
- 1 new Raid
- 4 new Strikes
- 8 new PvP Maps
- 2 new PvP modes
- 1 new Weapon Type
- etc...
You say new planets to explore, but the Dreadnaught (as a Destination) acts as a new "planet" to explore. It just isn't a planet.
I believe Luke Smith has said that the Dreadnaught is equivalent in size to the Earths playable areas. So it's essentially a new planet only not a planet.
Let's not forget to mention that he just said he put down destiny at level 30...

I held off because I think he is confused.
Someone replied to him that there was a new patrol, and then he commented that there wasn't a new planet.
So either he specificly wants a new planet to explore, or doesn't realize what we mean by new patrol/destination.

Bought the Ghost from the Speaker and Ikora Ray just gave me the Bond for reasons I do not know. I've also seen Ghost Shells and new class items drop for others in Crucible.
Taken King is:
- One large new destination (patrols, public events, etc.), the Dreadnaught
- Eight story missions
- Dozens of quests
- 4 strikes (3 on Xbox) with alternate / branching paths, and several new modifiers; updates to Weekly Heroic and Nightfall strikes
- 8 Crucible maps
- 3 game types
- 1 raid
- updated patrols on all planets
- Court of Oryx public event / arena challenge in the Dreadnaught
- More new gear than Destiny originally shipped with
- Three new subclasses
- New enemy faction, the Taken
- The 2.0 update (see link in the OP)
- New ghost voice actor, lots of cinematics, etc.

Looks like a good reason to jump back in.
Especially since I haven't tried the other two expansions yet.
Wish I could just buy TTK and the expansions as one package that doesn't require me to buy the original game all over again though. =(

So out of habit I auto dismantled the blue bonds I got from the vanguard subclass quest...if I use the terminal to replay them will I be able to get the quest rewards again?
Sorry to be a pedant but it's one new subclass for each class (bringing the total to three for each class).
(Unless you meant three across the classes, hehe) Either way your point stands: this is a significant update both in terms of content AND mechanics / systems; well worth anyone who dropped it coming back to check it out. I can't wait!

To be clear, I meant one new subclass on each of the three classes, for three total subclasses.
Vanguard and Crucible marks are being merged into one currency called Legendary Marks. That way both PvE and PvP players can join factions and buy their stuff. The change will take place on the 15h, which is also when you start earning them.

They will be unlocked on 15th. Basically anything you do like strikes, PvP will get you LM.

Thanks for the tip! I tried it out last night, but it seemingly made the download slower! I woke up this morning to see that the download still had an hour left. I have a FIOS connection.

Saw a thread about GameStop offering 20.00 towards the legendary edition for a trade-in of Destiny. Not sure if you can take advantage of this, but that's a decent savings.

hey guys, the xp system right now is tweaked so everybody levels up at a fast pace before the TTK or this is how is gonna be from now on? if it is, im gonna be 40 the very same night TTK is released (which isnt a bad thing)
