You mean the historic film with the 3 most iconic heroes in the world....?! Need more spin there. JL wont have the benefit of a 3 year separation from the last clusterfuck and people WILL be apprehensive about it. No blind hype here, JL will have to earn big numbers.
And trying to market that Snyder sequel against the Disney marketing machine of Ragnarok, coco, and VIII? The more I think about it the more I give Thor the advantage.

The big green guy is going to be the wild card. If they get this right, the numbers could get a big boost from Thor 2.

I never said the film would be good. If they pull a JW and have a fun last act to end an average film, it'll do serious bank.
Keep holding out hope, JL is fighting against a negative perception next time out, whether WW and SS are received well or not since Snyder is back at the helm.
They have a Hulk and we still don't know what they have planned for the film. For all we know it could go all out cosmic spectacle with TWS-like repercussions and we get a both films falling within spitting distance of $925M, which is way worse for JL than Thor 3. Not to mention is JL makes the mistake of making their 2 parter not two complete stories with too many loose ends, it may put off audiences as well, which seems to historically be more true than not.

There were a few seasons, not sure if that link is one that cut some episodes up into a "movie" or what but yeah there were a ton of episodes. You get to see him grow up, his family growing up, learning about hunting and having to deal with, hey he's a freaking human. It's not all kiddy as the song makes it seem too, some of it was pretty intense, when he fought the tiger for example it was a kill or be killed and it didn't shy away from the fact, didn't burn him to death or trap him. Again, it was kill or be killed and one definitely outright killed with a very sharp instrument being plunged into another. Things like loyalty, love, death and everything was covered and it was pretty damn well done that didn't always sugar coat things or be all cutesy for the sake of being a cartoon. Bad things happen, good things and in the end one thing remained true above all else, it was the jungle baby. I remember there were great VA's and great animation. It was a favorite when I saw it.

Just got out of Jungle Book. Wow it was fantastic, really glad to see how well it's performing at the Box Office. Great film

I just don't see the need for yet another Jungle Book movie. The trailer made it look terrible too, especially with Bill Murray trying to sing Bare Necessities.

It's not really a film I am in any rush to see either though. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Disney cartoon version when I was little.

They also went like crazy to see terrible movies like Jurassic World and Avatar so I'm not that surprised. I just don't understand the trend to watch all of these live action remakes.

I was skeptical about Jungle Book but that was fun
I like it a lot more than the cartoon, actually, which is one of the lesser Disney animated features, in my opinion.

How is $800 Million Worldwide for Batman vs Superman a train wreck? Nearly a billion dollars seems like a lot of money despite the mixed reviews.

I didn't call its gross a trainwreck. That was referring to the negative reception BvS got which killed its momentum. I still expect Justice League to have a big opening weekend.
If we are talking about a true trainwreck, then I don't think Snyder will ever manage to put out a Fan4stic level bomb.

So I mean, Disney's got the 2016 box office in the bag, right? Already two huge films that destroyed expectations, then we have Civil War, Rogue One, and Finding Dory guaranteed to make bank. Through the Looking Glass, Doctor Strange, and Moana should all do fairly well at the very least. Then you have Pete's Dragon as a wildcard.
Aside from that, other than a DreamWorks film coming out through Touchstone which I know nothing about, there's just Queen of Katwe, which won't be huge, but it had a tiny budget that it should be able to make back without too much issue.
Other than an early-year misstep with The Finest Hours, Disney's looking pretty damn good.

This is a movie that, in the right hands, could have cleared nearly double that. Now it's barely turning a profit, and managed to be beat out by an R-rated Deadpool film.

Its cost including marketing is over 400 million,a studio receive half or less of the gross so they really needed a lot more than 800 million to profit, also a movie with this bad word of mouth being the start of a shared universe means future problems

What comedy has grossed more than Deadpool? If anything that limit the grosses and especially overseas

If that's your argument, maybe you should look at the global grosses for R-rated comedies.

All of Disney's recent bombs come from their attempts at original live action stuff.
I'm not surprised that they are increasingly becoming a distributor that puts out 5 lines of products (Marvel, Star Wars, The live action fairy tale stuff, Pixar, and Disney Animated) and the odd low budget film.

I really think Through The Looking Glass will do poorly. There´s zero buzz around it, I haven´t met a single person who has any interest in watching it. The first one was success because it was the first 3D movie after Avatar and people wanted more of that. Also having Burton as a director helped.
Now this one comes 6 years later, after the big 3D fad has gone a bit over, without Burton and it´s coming out on a crowded summer while the original was released on a slow February.
I can´t see it do more than 500M$ WW.
