Clean af.
So now console players have lower standards? Gotcha.
I thought this whole 'PC Master Race' stanning was a bannable offense here?
Wtf are you talking about? So now console players have lower standards? Gotcha.

That's great! It's always nice to keep a diverse catalogue between different companies if one can afford it 😁, that's why I'm looking forward to Scorpio and keeping expectations in check for Switch, in case I find it appealing once it is fully revealed.I ordered a pro, first non Nintendo console for me since ps2 😜
Some people in the PS4 box thread said that they actually removed that USB bridge in the later PS4 models but it didn't have any impact, so it may be a manually enforced data cap.
I don't know where to ask this:
Is this an okay deal from GameStop Germany?
I've got a launch PS4 and some assy games I could give them:

So for games like titanfall, are the pro upgrades like graphics updates in MP too? I know they said they won't let pro players have better MP frame rate, but still get 4K, etc?

They do. It's kind of interesting because I think the players with the sharp screen have the advantage. That blur is horrible. So for games like titanfall, are the pro upgrades like graphics updates in MP too? I know they said they won't let pro players have better MP frame rate, but still get 4K, etc?
It's been raised before, it's when the input latency is much lower on some console games at 30fps vs. running the same game on PC forced to 30fps. This can vary from game to game, and can sometimes be fixed by using external forcing utilities like Nvidia inspector rather than the games own 30fps lock - if it has such an option. Frame pacing can also be an issue which ties into input latency, however console games are certainly not exempt from this either - see Bloodborne, DS3, Mafia3, etc.
Forza Horizon is apparently one recent example - at 30fps, there have been a lot of complaints that the PC version has pretty noticeably controller lag. Owners of both the Xbone and the PC version have tested it and report that this was the case - the xbone version was much more responsive despite also being at 30fps.
So the evidence at this point is largely anecdotal, it's really hard to make a definitive statement that '30fps locks on PC are worse than console' at this point. All I can say is that I frequently hear reports of poor frame pacing when using 30fps lock on games that give the option for PC, and Digital Foundry has reported this on numerous occasions too and usually force it through drivers. Don't know why that is.
This looks very nice indeed.
I was going to pick up TF2 today but I'm going to hold out until next week when I get my pro.
Going for maximum impact PRO/TF2 combo.
And that's a downscaled 1080p screenshot, does that mean it'll look even nicer 4K?
I don't think people quoting that 4k quote with leadbetter realize just how insanely clear a downsampled image from 4k is to 1080p. It alone is easily worth the measly $100 tag increase for a huge upgrade over the slim.
I've seen this argument made a few times and I don't know how true it is on consoles. I've seen it happen only once on PC (Dark Souls) where a modded framecap increase broke the timing of the game, but even that didn't take too long to get resolved. If the power was available, I really don't see how a console title couldn't be upped to 60.
Wasnt weapon degradation in the pc version of dark souls 2 tied to the framerate so when you uncapped it weapons wore out much faster ?
I just wish my dumb ass would have waited for the 2016 Vizio P series, instead of buying the 2014 version a year and a half ago. No HDR for me : (
He's been moving around a lot due to PS4 Pro coverage, probably tired af.Rich ain't looking too happy for some reason
PC is great, but you don't get the Last of Us, the Uncharted's, the God of War's and so and so... plus, you have a lot more problems to deal with in every game and a lot of multiplatform games come much later to PC (Rockstar, years later or never) or are bad ports with crippling performance.
And btw, 30fps gameplay on consoles has always been much smoother than 30fps on PC, still today even with the most powerful and expensive GPU's.
Personally, Aliasing is what bothers me the most in console games. I can do with 30 if both fps and framepacing are good enough for display Frame Interpolation to work properly, which is the usual case on consoles but not on PC. Native 60fps would be better but less jaggies, less shimmering and better visual fidelity may be more important in most cases. Anyway, games that really need it like Gran Turismo will keep going at 60fps even on PS4 standard right?
I get where you're coming from with some of that, but much of it doesn't fit my experience owning both consoles and a gaming PC.
I like both PC and consoles and I'm eagerly awaiting the PS4 Pro, I just think you were painting a little bit of a one sided picture in your comment.

Where did you find this deal?! I cant find any information on their website or social media accounts in germany, I need this
So a HDR game would look better with 420 right now since TVs dont currently support 10Bit RGB. Would a non HDR game look worse with the 420? Just trying to figure out exactly to set this upNo TV right now supports 10-bits per channel RGB. If you do 2160p RGB then you are limited to 8-bit which means no HDR.
I've used 8-bit with HDR before on the PC (Shadow Warrior 2) and it introduces a lot of nasty color banding as HDR requires a much wider palette. You need to use 420.
I know, it sounds bad, but the results are so much better than you'd expect on a 4K display.
You know PS2 could enhance PS1 games and orginal 60 GB PS3 model could enhance PS2 games. Why couldn't PS4 PRO enhance PS4 games by default?

Because they're treating it as the same generation. You're talking a generation ahead playing last gen games better. You know PS2 could enhance PS1 games and orginal 60 GB PS3 model could enhance PS2 games. Why couldn't PS4 PRO enhance PS4 games by default?
I think we might have some surprises in store that haven't been talked about, but we'll see.
Does anyone know what DF meant by this?

Your taking my quotes as DF's lol.
I was saying that Cerny only mentioned downclocking the components to simulate PS4, which did not account for the advancements in architecture of the GPU or the bandwidth, which would yield passive improvements even at the same clock as PS4.

It should be noted that, although I think that readers often are able to guess because it mentioned in the beginning of this paper, "of these series, a new feature that was inherited from the Polaris and Vega, in the standard PS4 mode is disabled all" (Mr. Cerny) because, just in case the point.
