A New Engine , completely new models but small roster.
Or Re use older engine but in HD/4K(Pro) ( since it shouldnt need too much power ) , older models are reworked/newer animations , But huuuge MvC2 style roster with the entire original UMvC3 cast intact and many more.
I think the old MvC3 style is just fine. And considering we dont know how long Capcom will hold the license. I would rather a huge Dream roster than a new engine that most likely isnt going to push any great technical boundaries anyway.

Marvel's probably gonna change up their side of the roster either way, so might as well start from zero. Plus you'd need to make a good impression of being different from the predecessor, & it'd be hard to do that if you use the same models. As long as Capcom & Marvel keep throwing DLC at the game for the long-term (like their plans for SFV), it'll be fine.
Just throwing it out there, they're both MCU as a whole.

Why not Daredevil? He's more-or-less the face of the Netflix side of the MCU.
Marvel were the ones who shot down PC versions of the MvC3 games, but they did allow some later games to be on PC. So while I'm hopeful, I do recognize that a PC version isn't a given.

I just use the terms MCU & Marvel Animation. If I want to refer to a specific part of the MCU, I normally say either MCU-Film, MCU-TV, or MCU-Netflix (even though you could lump Netflix with TV).

I really hope that the X-Men are represented in the game, I know that the most probable thing to happen is that it's going to be heavily or completely MCU focus, but I'll keep crossing my fingers (growing watching X-Men TAS, so it would be a shame not seeing them)
Back in the day when Lupinko was teasing MCV3 and UMVC3 he always made them with Jem songs or pictures... it was OUTRAGEOUS lol

The old, improved character models and improved lighting would be a fine base to build a whole new game on. Of course, I want an actual new game with completely new systems, UI, etc.
It would be well within the Vs. tradition of reusing old sprites.
The thing that people need to remember is that a massive roster is very hard to balance and balance takes a lot of time and resources. The roster of UMvC3 is already at 50, you want to add another 15-20 characters?
How many characters could even be practically viable?

In alot of ways this is a fun ride. Just hope we don't fall off the tracks tho but that seems likely.
