Question: I ordered a Steam Link (off Amazon since I get 5% back with my credit card), do I need a dongle to connect my Dualshock 4 to it? Or is it ready to go out of the box?
Plug your controller in via USB to activate the Steam Link (or plug in a wireless mouse and keyboard if you have one), then you'll go to the settings on the device. Find bluetooth, and you'll see the DS4 there listed if you put it on pairing mode (share and the PS button, it'll blink).

From there you just need to pair it and it'll be good to go and the link should turn on when you press the PS button from then on.

Np. Been using my Steam Link with a Wii U controller in a similar matter (and yes, it's picked up natively. Love my job little box though since changing providers I've not been able to use it wired for some reason...

Anywho when Steam comes around I plan on getting that Microsoft RTS bundle to round out the game I'm missing from it.

And now it's time for a quick giveaway:

Did anyone in here just get Steam and not have a lot of games?

Quote me here in the thread first, then PM your Steam name. Once Steam comes back up I'll see if you don't have many games and I'll send you The Orange Box for free.

Play fair folks ;).

I'm seeing a lot of Abzu purchases. Is this a game where you just relax and explore?

What do you think of it so far?

Last week, browsing Neogaf...

"Abzu this"
"Abzu that"

Ok, I get it, it's a boring VR game.

Steam Winter Sale 2016: so good you can't even actually buy anything.

Man, they really have been doing a poor job these last few sales. First it's the new model, now it's being down this long, yikes...

Same. I'm buying when I get out of work. Let's hope this isn't like the time I heard Dragons Dogma was amazing.

Well, no, it isn't entirely their fault, but at the same time it's hard to disassociate the whole thing. Lots of people haven't been too happy with the sales for a while now, then this happens, it all gets mixed up and the end result is costumers feeling unsatisfied.

But oh well, I'm sorry, I've just been very salty with Steam for a while now. Even before they changed the sales, it was the whole thing about not allowing people from South America and few other regions to gift games because of the pricing difference. I 'get it', and I know it used to be exploited, but basically I enjoyed gifting stuff to friends and even giving stuff away here on GAF when the sales rolled around and now I just can't, because I live in Brazil.

Sure, we get cheaper-ish games, and I'm not complaining about that, but I don't even have an alternative. There's no "pay more and be able to gift" option or something like that, so just gotta accept that I'm locked of interacting with <everyone else in the world> because of their rules. Bleh.

its funny how we rely so much on steam to play games.
Its what steam really wanted.

I wanna play rocket league online, servers are down, no online gaming for you.
This and many other games, requiring steam to run.

10 years ago this would be unnaceptable.

LMAO

This isnt STEAMs fault

It doesn't seem like DDoS attack, It's just down.

DDoS wouldn't instantly bring all servers down and DDoS would also appear as slowness.

Man, we sure are in a "it isn't Steam's fault!" roll today. Steam is down! But it isn't Steam's fault! It's the evil DDoSers!

You're buying games on Steam, suddenly you can't buy games on Steam the way you used to! But it isn't Steam's fault! It's all the evil publishers and Steam had no say whatsoever on it! Nope!

Also, I'm not sure what's so funny about that post. I mean, I guess complaining that a service works in a way that makes a country completely isolated from the global community makes you laugh? I sure don't think it's funny ,and I'm not happy about it and I sure have been buying a lot less on Steam ever since things became this way, but yeah...

So youre saying that it is steams fault? Like Valve wanted this to happen?

You sound angry with steam/valve for some reason.

To be fair Steam being down is a lot better than the time Steam just leaked my personal data to strangers around the world for 8 hours and then told me "nah don't worry about it"

Any recommendations for coach co-op games for 2 players? Nothing too hardcore and a light atmosphere is preferred. For example really enjoyed Ibb & Obb and Overcooked.

I'd blame them for not letting the word out on what's happening. I mean, yeah, Valve isn't known for its outstanding communication ability but...

but like who actually cares? It's not like they don't know steam is down. They're obviously working to get it up again.
