Okay my theories on rebirth after watching the trailer:

The guy in black cloak in Junon is Revees.

End scenario 1: City of the Ancients plays out the same as in og (and they should then have the rest of the northern continent as post-credit solemnness.

Scenario 2: Cloud dies.
My bet is the guy in the black cloak is Glenn. Saw it on Reddit I think, likes up with the mobile game (at least for as far as I am) and the weapon is a match.

After watching this trailer I think the new mainline final fantasy games need a bit more color/character. Loved FF16 but Rebirth visually is much more interesting/striking.

I personally love the fact there is variety within in FF games. I found it refreshing to see how dark FFXVI is compare to pervious games.

I dont need every FF to be FFXVI but I enjoyed the variety.

I am so fucking pumped for this game. My most anticipated game for months has been ac6 and I have that sitting there on the shelf waiting for me to finish Remake again. I'm glad I will be going to that because when this ends I am going to be in the mood for some more excellent gameplay.

One thing that bugs me is that they are going to stash the hard mode again as a new game+. That might not be so bad, though. I had a great time with remake going through the first time, then enjoying the game in a new light on the hard mode. The thing is... now I kinda know what I'll be missing. I suppose I can impose no items house rules. That makes such a huge difference.

Millions of people agree with you on this.

At least there a month gap just about between P3 and 7R!

I noticed in the trailer that when you first see Zack carrying Cloud, his face isn't bleeding/bruised, but when he hands Cloud off to one of the people in the crowd, it's not. I wonder what came first here.

Cloud was probably being a sissy, complaining all the way from the wasteland around Midgard to the doors, and Zack got fed up with all his nagging. By the time they arrived, I bet the true Soldier 1st Class gut punched and slapped that bitch pretty good. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Are you talking about the hooded man before the Tifa WEAPON scene? It would fit with how they're making us play First Soldier in Ever Crisis

Yeah I guess, but I still prefer a complete story than waiting on cliffhangers. Probably burned by too many SF book series.
That can be said with any game with sequels, I mean God of War 2 ended with Kratos climbing Olympus with Titans in order fight Zeus and even original Kingdom Hearts ended with Sora and Kairi getting separated.

Timestamped, DF guys sound very impressed by what they saw of Rebirth. I don't think its UE5, but the devs seem to have such a good job with the geometry it gives a similar look to nanite at least in the trailer.

They aren't impressed by the 1080p 30fps trailer upload though and are baffled by this decision considering there's a 4k 60fps trailer.

I never bothered with FFVII after playing the demo. Didn't feel like the party system, and more RPGish systems were for me.
But after completing FFXVI after putting in just over 100 hours, it's made me more open to the FFVII combat system.
I just started playing it last night and if it all goes well, I'll probably get Rebirth digitally for that PS Portal.
So FFXVI may have been the perfect catalyst for someone like me.

VIIR is awesome, just keep in mind that it concerns managing the whole party simultaneously. Keep that in mind and make use of the tactical mode if you need to slow down and assess the Battle and your options without being barraged.

I think I should be ok with the action side. When fighting the first boss I almost died cause I didn't know it takes ATB to use potions. Had to have Barrett use potions on me a few times.
I'm not that familiar with the systems yet. I'm still in Chapter 2.

That's the one thing I for sure love about Remake is the combat system. When things get going, swapping around to strategically build up ATB then boom dropping a stagger and swapping around to unload on the enemy.. Great system. Hope you enjoy it.

For me the combat of FFVIIR gets even more fun on hard difficulty, because you cant use items and wont even recover MP in rest areas, MP management becomes more crucial.

Yep, too bad it's balanced around high level like that, it would be so much nicer to start the game that way.

Spoilers I guess? I haven't played those but I don't plan too either.

But yeah, you are right, I still prefer a complete story, no need to be defensive about it, it's just how I prefer things (only me). That's my loss, not yours.

In the end it's your choice if want to wait until trilogy is complete but you gonna waiting for looooong time and until then I hope you don't get spoiled for the story.

This comes off kind of as a bit of a strange insult to use on a forum of adults wasting the little time they have on the planet playing and talking about video games.

Does this look any better to you? Another youtuber giving their reactions. It's all pretty normal stuff if you watch any youtubers, they ooh and aaah and make all weird faces all the time. If they just sit there stoic no one is going to subscribe and watch them.

Max is a weird one though, for a guy who doesn't like turn-based RPGs (afaik), he sure likes FFVII.
We live in a world where "adults" have tattoos of football clubs.
Let's not shame anyone for their hobbies even if it's cringe.

Chapter 1 and 2 throw you in the deep end. Chapter 3 you'll get some time to learn the systems more thoroughly.

I would imagine playing no item/MP recovery difficulty on your very first playthrough would be frustrating experience. On your first playthrough you dont know when chapter ends, so you might go all out on one boss but the chapter hasn't ended yet and you come cross end chapter boss with barely no MP. This actually happens near of end FFVIIR when the game throughs you multiple bosses at you but because you playththough it once and you know its coming so you can plan for it.

😂

Well the TGS stuff I'll read and give a glimpse 👀

Then I see 2-3 other trailers dropping between now and release. Oct PS Showcase (if this exists), Game Awards most definitely, then the launch trailer which may coincide with a State of Play for the game.

I think anything from the Game Awards onwards will be easy to pass up on so close to release!

Love the music in the trailer which is a mash up of the main theme.

Reminds me of what they did in the Rufus fight with the Shinra Theme.

Yeah good point. Does the first one is enough enclosed to have an ending or it's like a episode? I know there's some intergrade as well, but I haven't read any info because, you said it, spoilers. I did the original FFVII so those spoilers aren't an issue, it's more about the retelling of the new FFVII that I don't want to be spoiled. Thanks for your help, really appreciated it!

In my opinion Remake does pretty good job closing chapter, it not like it suddenly ends out of no where.
