I'm honestly thinking of taking up triathlon seriously. I've entered them for fun for quite a while and I'm particularly strong in both the cycling and swimming, which I've competed in semi-competitively (regional championships) before. I think I could do it...

do it for gaf

The best chance somebody has here to get to the Olympics is through Archery, Handball or shooting unless you want to do the team rowing thing.

Might as well get the best / worst discussion started again...

•Highlight of the Games
Ennis kicking for victory in the 800m leg of her heptathlon.

•Lowpoint of the Games
The British girls (Varnish / Pendleton) getting disqualified in the pursuit.

•Athlete(s) of the Games
Hard to go against Farah for me here.

•Biggest Villian of the Games
The ref at the fencing, or the ref at the cycling. Probably the fencing though.

•Funniest Moment of the Games
Probably Bolt posing with the mascot.

•Sport you've most enjoyed watching
Weightlifting.

•GAF Moment of the Games
Archer love-in.

I hope there's an OT4 when wwe reach max on this one. /denial

BTW is the logo for Rio that was shown previously in the thread official??

Wow, I really enjoyed watching the Olympics over the past two weeks.

It's been inspiring, sad, funny, happy - a real mix of emotions coming together to represent what high level competition should be.

London put on a great show, and really enjoyed the closing ceremony tonight - thought it got off to a bit of a slow start but the second half was fantastic.

My Olympic Memories

1) Archery - Starting with the team competitions all the way through the individual events, a great event to watch for fast paced action and player nerves.

2) Fencing - Fast paced action counter-balanced by agonizingly drawn-out controversy. Epee > foil and sabre.

3) LOL NBC - Great schadenfreude when their gymnastics and swimming story-lines started blowing up in their face. I can proudly claim not to have watched any of their delayed TV coverage, unless I was in a sports bar with friends and already knew the result.

It's over :( only just finished watching the closing ceremony.

At least those of us with access to iplayer get to watch the archive until 2013. I'm going to watch everything i missed!

I never thought a home Olympics would affect me this much but it has been incredible *sniffle*

Whoever watches the NBC coverage of the closing ceremony please let us know if they cut the "shit" part of "Always Look On The Bright Side..."

NBC hasn't even bothered to start broadcasting the show yet, but I can assure you with 1000% certainty that it has been cut.

Also, I <3 the BBC streams. The whole closing ceremony with NO commentary of any kind at all! How fantastic.

I wish they will put in more variety of archery, like how shooting is done.

And they can remove all varieties of swimming and let them swim anyway they want. Of course this is not going to happen unless China dominate swimming. Obstacle race sounds fun though.

•Highlight of the Games
Bolt's record, McKayla's vault, that one dude on the bar

•Lowpoint of the Games
The Badminton players that were throwing the game.

•Athlete(s) of the Games
Phelps because of the record, Oscar Pistorius

•Biggest Villian of the Games
The judges/ref, especially during the fencing controversy.

•Funniest Moment of the Games
The pictures of the divers mid dive. Phelps mom thinking he clinched Gold on one of his events.

•Sport you've most enjoyed watching
Weightlifting was pretty boss. Volleyball and Gymnastics as well.

•GAF Moment of the Games
The hype for the Men's 100m race, the Lochte vs Phelps race, and the weightlifting.
