Apparently the Wii shop in Wii mode requires a NNID. Can you confirm this?

This would mean all additional Wii downloads are tied to the NNID.

I loaded up the Wii Shop just fine, but I was logged into the Nintendo Network ID already. I believe you need one to get the update that enables it in the first place.

You still have to have the system plugged in and powered though, and be close to it. So unless you have a generator out in the parking lot, no go.

Couldn't tell ya. My Wii crashes halfway through the data transfer and according to Nintendo's website I'll have to send it out for repair. I don't wanna play any Wii games on it until I'm sure I can transfer all my WiiWare and VC games over without a hitch.

Good video, certainly seems faster than I expected.

There's talk of the eShop supposedly lacking game demos altogether. Can you see whether this is true or not?

Updates, at the moment, are insanely slow. Close to 20 minutes to update Nintendo Land. I assume this will improve when it's not, you know, a few hours before launch.

Luckily, they let you jump right into the game anyway.

In case anyone's interested, I was just at my local Best Buy to get a hard drive for my Wii U, and there was a guy there putting out inventory of Wii U accessories. He said they had around 10 Wii U's in addition to preorders. Note, this isn't a Best Buy with a midnight launch.
