The incompetence resulting in such a broken game is truly perplexing.
In the context of what Bungie did for Live with Halo 2 and then the symbiotic relationship of Halo 3 and Live pretty much sold the entire concept.
I don't know if it's sheer arrogance from Microsoft bean counters or 343i execs, but thinking it would be fine to release it as is, is awful. They're destroying their number one IP; what helped establish the original Xbox and Live. Really do wonder what happened?
And then the gall to parade around the new Halo 5 features whilst happily selling broken software. I know it's a business but it just seems so shameless.
The situation is made worse when the game is being marketed on tv, in cinemas and online with "We will rock you" trailers. Disgraceful.
This is a part of the problem. You're paying for the game and online service and you're content to do so for something that does not work? I don't know what to say.

The game works in a subpar fashion but it does work. Nobody's money is wasted if the game gets fixed in the end
