No one is spending $60 for a mobile phone game no matter how good it is. App Store thrashed all idea of value.The problem with games on phones isn't the power of the phones.
It's that mobile App Stores are absolute trash, structured to monetize spamming and ads at every step. It's an absolute cesspool, and they let it grow this way over time. Even developers that might have something to offer on other platforms will make trash on mobile due to the existing incentives and structures.
Nothing in the world depresses me more than to see a kid playing games on a damn phone. Even a GBA from twenty years ago has more worthwhile experiences available on it than the entire App store.
