Yup. Australia's media ownership is an absolute joke. The fact that Fairfax has no offline presence in Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth is pretty indicative of the situation. News has virtually no competition in print, and other than the ABC all the TV stations are essentially exactly the same.

After reading the garbage in the Warrnambool paper today I still don't like newspapers. Lots of stupid, misinformed articles that obviously weren't researched properly. The other admin here had a domestic with her ex-boyfriend that she had a restraining order against and it was entertaining to see just how a person can write a 200 word news item on something they had obviously only gotten information on through reading Facebook or something, not even one quote from a police officer, lol.

I try and pick up some news on ABC24, everything else just feels insulting. Misinformation pisses me off, especially when they are getting paid to spread it.

I sent in my printing order for the comics i'll be selling at Supanova in April, and this morning got my confirmation email that the books are now on their way...to a mailing address I stopped using a year ago, even though I gave them my new address with my order.

Awesome, that's a giant box of comics I spent a fortune on completely gone. Fucking great work.

Give the Post Office a call and say you used to live there and get them to redirect it. Just have to fill out a form and pay $10 or something. If it is with another transport company you should be able to easily give them a call and get them to redirect it, maybe for a little extra.

They're reporting on domestic disputes? Did they name people? Because that is illegal.
DV is normally right off limits despite it being one of, by far, the most frequent things police here attend to.

News 24 is great though. As is News Radio too actually. And they play a bunch of UK and US news programs that are really interesting

Names were included but it was because the final court appearance was done yesterday. Major part of the newspaper reporting here apparently. Would have thought they would have more important things to worry about, like the arson in the area, rather than spending time on little stuff like domestics.

That is good news, however I am a little bummed at the limited codec support. So now I am still tossing up with the idea of building AMD Fusion based media extenders. However, will still get a few Pi's, at the very least for home automation projects.
