The wait between now and next Thursday when SSX is out is far too long.

Played a bunch of SSX3 over the weekend. I even went so far to buy SSX World Tour on PSN and SSX3 holds up far better.

My copy of BioShock 2 arrived from OzGameShop in that 2 for $18 deal, ordered it on the 10th of Feb. Very pleased with the speed.

I'm beginning to think the internet as a whole should have some kind of messagebox that pops up for everything you post that just goes "STOP! DO YOU REALLY WANT TO APPEAR LIKE AN IGNORANT TWAT BECAUSE YOU ONLY THOUGHT ABOUT THIS POST FOR LESS THAN 3 SECONDS?"

The Bioware-Writer and about half of the Idle Thumbs Kickstarter Threads are full of comments by people who can't fucking read.
Examples? I've only just found out about the IT KS and seriously on the edge of pledging two-hundo. The vinyl (which I'll never play), the extra t-shirt (which I'll never wear), the newspaper (which I'll read once) and the prints (which I'll probably never frame, unless they're REALLY awesome)... but damn, can (and have) dropped $200 on a really, really good, boozy night out with friends. This is (essentially) for a lifetime.

I must be fucking insane. I was seriously considering springing $1000 for them for about half a second.

I'm actually really tempted to give them $200...

/edit And done. Man, the knowledge that you don't pay for it immediately drives me mad, it's like having a credit card specifically for charity. No more luxury purchases for this month I suppose. :T
Actually, shit. I just remembered I managed to get rid of my Q9550 CPU for $200. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.

Done.

Troubling that this asshole got so close before getting chucked.

This morning, Mr Watson's candidate page on the Queensland Labor website had already been removed, however the page previously spruiked his ''keen interest in politics'', saying he joined the ALP at the age of 15 and was the secretary of the party's Warwick branch.

''Mr Watson has worked in a number of jobs including as a production assistant at a local alternative medication factory, as a cleaner at the Warwick Show Grounds and as a delivery driver at a local pizza shop,'' it said. He went to Glennie Heights State School and Warwick State High School before attending the Southern Downs Institute of TAFE.

I can see how that would be a problem, the website certainly doesn't help the clarity.

Everything you need for launch day!

Really? Are you sure about that.

I have to agree, the starter pack not including a memory card is a tad short sighted of Sony. Why they couldn't have just thrown in a small memory card with the system like they did with the PSP is beyond me.

The 32mb pack in card was a life saver. Was extremely nice to actually save the game I was playing at launch. Buying a psv now without a memory card would probably cause me to have a horrific flashback to when I got my PS2...without a memory card.

At the time it was a choice of game Vs memory card, was a big deal to me as I wasn't exactly rolling in money during my early teens.

After a few weeks at the casual job I had, I got the memory card and all was well! :D

Choc, Can we get some of the region locking stuff cleared up with the Vita?

I think it was done in steam chat a few nights ago but i wanted to double check.

The console itself is region free. You can play any game on it from any region.

Online gaming is different though right? It's locked to your specific account so if you buy a japanese game you can only play within that region. Same with US, EU/AU etc. Is that correct?

So I can buy a machine from playasia or whoever from asia but i need to always buy my games from a local joint? Of course there's ozgameshop etc as well, Depending on what region AU falls into?

The difference is that back then you could at least boot your games up even if you couldn't save your progress in them.

I honestly can't see that many people using the platform without a memory card, but you are right it does suck that you can not simply play the game you purchased without one :).

I'm keen to see how it all goes for people when mandatory firmware updates are released or distributed on carts that require a memory card to boot. Not to mention, connecting to or using the playstation network is probably rather pointless without a card.

As you require the latest PS firmware to even connect and download content from SEN.

6-12 months a pack in card will probably be standard, I can't see it going any other way :)

Amazon has 3 for 3 promotion for some Vita games. You can get Wipeout, Lumines & Uncharted for $90, not bad for $30 a pop.

Yeah when I read that he wrote it when he was 14 or 15 I calmed down a little. But then I read
Mr Watson also told the program he believed homosexuality degraded society's values.
What a fuckwit.

Aww missed out on that amazon deal:( Probably would have gotten Rayman as the 3rd game.

Cookie, vita unit is completely region free, like a ps3. Only annoying thing is that you can't have multiple psn accounts on the thing without wiping the memory card.

Its out here next Thursday, OMG. The wait for a decent snowboarding game this gen has been killing me. Any reason to get the LE in Australia?

EB aren't stocking it on their site anymore, just the normal edition. I'm sure the extra peak will be DLC soon enough.

Summary of PSVita regions

-Console is region free

-PS Store is not

-PS Store is locked once you select your location

-To reset PS Store you need to reset the console and erase all data

-Multiplayer gaming is dictated by your PS Region or the cart. DEpending on dev

I live!

My laptop, unfortunately, does not. I was gaming on it and it overheated and something important melted. Hooray for phone gaf. Though I am kinda disappointed because a few weeks ago someone wondered if I was still reading and I bookmarked the page so I could prove that I was. Oh well.

On a separate note, has anyone been watching the tester?

Wat? Man. That's a weird one.

Shitty guitars and keyboards don't really replace a specialist store like Allans. That's without taking into account all the sheet music, accessories and other music bits and bobs.

Yeah, it's also one of those purchases where you really want to talk to an specialist I would imagine.

Holy shit JB HiFi are now selling musical instruments.

Bye bye Allans Music Billy Hyde =[

Seriously thinking about laying down 200 clams for that Yamaha guitar. My old acoustic is busted up but I don't want to spend heaps of cash on a new awesome one (yet). Musos will always go to the specialist stores though. Eg, EB Games is still around despite JB, Big W, etc. That one I don't really understand though, hah.

You know what, Vita is just sounding more terrible to me as time goes by (sorry Choc).

Is there a game ranking system where you can rate various aspects of a game (graphics, sound, music, characters, art style, etc) and it'll pop out a Netflix/Pandora style recommendation based on what your friends or people who rated things similarly to you like?

Because there should be. And I wouldn't mind trying to make one.

Afterwards can I commission you to build the backend for a site involving multiple news/article/editorial/link feeds?

Not actually serious unfortunately, not enough resources

Your overall point is valid but this analogy is kind of busted. EB Games don't offer anything major retailers don't, practically.

Convenience and a generally large range, I suppose.

Sounds like a really good idea. I reckon it'd be pretty popular, especially round these parts. I'd love to use something like that. Seems like it would be a massive undertaking though.
