Yeah. I really don't think hughes is a long term solution as an opener, either.

There was simply no reason to drop Katich at the time. Sure he's getting old, but he was in good form and a much safer pick to keep than was Hughes. Although Hughes would have been a known quantity if they hadnt kept dropping/picking him time after time. Instead they were still figuring out if he was worth persevering with.
There is no clear opener replacement(s) so by default Katich should be first pick and whomever is in best form after that should be next in line.
Of course that will never happen.
It's not in their classification database. I'm sending a query off to their publisher, whose website is mostly broken but at least their contact information is still up.

Oh yeah, the selection yoyo hasn't helped. And i'm not saying there's anyone better at the moment to take his spot. I just don't think he'll be in the team for 10 years.
There's a couple promising very young openers at the moment, that with a solid year or 2 of shield could supplant hughes.
Problem is, in 2 years, you'll probably need to find a replacement for Watson too.

That's the 360 one, innit? I seem to remember it being not bad. If it's a near-identical port, I might jump in. Would rather have some srsly oldschool Bard's with the original game, though.
Fucking hell. Just had the best idea ever, realised it's never going to happen.
Gauntlet-themed pinball table. Physical would be preferred (duh) but I guess a virtual one would be cool, too. Imagine the voice samples, the artwork, the entire fucking theme... multiplayer could use each of the four characters. The drain sound when a ball goes between the flippers would have the same sound as when a character finds the exit and spins around (that whirly sound).
FUCK. I want this game.

AFAIK you either need to have a modded Wii to dump games using the Wii's drive, or have a specific drive for your PC with modified firmware to rip games with.

It's a port of the PS2/XBOX/PC game which came out in about 2004/2005 from memory.

My brother modded our Wii and ripped Xenoblade in under an hour. It's a really simple process to do and from what I understand, completely safe.
Oh so you can softmod them? I assumed it was a hardware chip.

You can do a simple software mod yourself in a short amount of time.
Ah. I definitely remember playing it, I just don't remember much about it. Did it have a bit of a Defender of the Crown vibe, or am I thinking of a (possibly non-existent) update? Who knows. It's Friday and I'm hopped up on ibuprofen, dexamphetamine and hunger pains.
Edit: Jesus FUCK it's 1.3gb! No room for it with that AND IB2. Will wait for a sale, I think... especially if it's $6.50. Hard to justify it at that price with all the other crap I bought during Black Friday. Keen on your impressions, though.

Yup. From memory, I think the early AD&D stuff (Pool of Radiance, Secret of the Silver Blades, Curse of the Azure Bonds etc.) was fairly similar, too. I never got into those ones specifically, but my brother had some gnarly maps drawn on gridpaper for those feckers.

For some weird reason, I always kinda liked the original Gauntlet IP. Well, I kinda liked the Gauntlet Legends-era stuff, but there wasn't anything incredibly memorable about it (though it WAS a lot of fun). A pinball of the original could feature magic, food, ghosts, a ramp that needs to be hit when you need food, a multiball "Treasure Room", a backglass that looks like this (which, for some reason, just SCREAMS pinball), Death... damnit, I need to stop thinking about this RIGHT NOW. It's killing me.Ahhh. Will do! I would be tempted to get FX2 but my current console pinball love is Williams Pinball Arcade Classics or something like that. Waiting for the PAL release so I can get some sweet XBL scoreboard action happening, but ATM I only have it on PS3.
Probably just downloading them. But you'd have a good chance of finding those drives on eBay. When I bought a J-tagged 360 and wanted to HDD load all my disc-based games, there was only one specific drive I could use and I managed to find one on eBay. Chances are there are people online who know about the above drives and sell them specifically with the intention that they'd be used for game ripping.

Loved everything about that game and I didn't even do much of the extras. An almost perfect game in my eyes.

Most like emulated through something like DOSPad.

I just spent like $80 on overpriced unneccessary crap to get Dolphin working with a Wii controller! Fucking WiiMotionPlus, being way more expensive than I was expecting.

I downloaded iDOS, a PC emulator, in the few hours it was on the App Store before Apple pulled it (again). Awesome DOS-Box type utility and you can copy whatever game you want to it from your collection. It's the best way to play Stunt Car Racer that's for sure.
