My ticket price was $24.50 (AUD).
Lol.

My theater only offers 3D until a couple of days before the movie comes out. It's beyond annoying but it might just be them trying to sucker in as many people since the 3D screening cost more.
Is the dubbed only thing prevalent throughout Europe?
I'm currently in Italy where the movie premiers tomorrow and not a single cinema in Milan is showing it in English, which means no movie for me((

They've been coming out already, & they're quite positive so far.Are reviews coming out today?

It depends on the country. In Germany, France, Italy and Spain literally every movie is dubbed without the option to see the original version, but here in The Netherlands only kids movies are dubbed (and even with those you can usually choose between the dubbed version and the original version). Is the dubbed only thing prevalent throughout Europe?

I always thought so too, but apparently this is not the case. I was talking to a German friend of mine about this last week and she said that she was really annoyed that in The Netherlands movies and television series aren't dubbed. She even said that this is why she hardly goes to the movies or watch television when she's in The Netherlands. She vastly prefers German (or Dutch) voice actors to reading subtitles. So yeah, it's getting worse because the people that grew up with it will riot if they tone it down.it surprises me that it actually gets worse and not better. you'd think the youth would want (and be able to) see it in english.
Is there a review thread? Usually are for big blockbusters like this.
Yes.There usually is, but I hope there won't be one for AoU to avoid all the drama.
Let's stick to OT.
Its during these moments of introspection that we come to realise just how vital that superhero characters are portrayed by actors who possess dramatic chops to go along with physical prowess, with Avengers: Age of Ultron a blockbuster thats as much about who these characters are and what they are made of when faced with the very real threat of annihilation.
Writer/director Joss Whedon knew that it would be foolish to try and outdo the epic, giddy action heights of the first Avengers, a movie that was as much an event as it was a culmination of a grand plan. No, instead of going bigger Whedon opted to delve deeper and hit pay-dirt in the process. The stakes on the line in this action adventure are not only sky-high but soul-deep. Whedon hits both points with an almighty wallop, resulting in a large canvas blockbuster that is as epic as it is profound.
Changed my screening to Friday at 14:00. Less people and no rush to the cinema for me.
Man, it's been ages since I've been to Forbidden Planet. This is what me and a friend have done, Friday 3:50. Gives us enough time for dinner and a look in Forbidden Planet before we go.
Nope. But apparently it's a great constant stream of action and humor, even moreso than the first.Something tells me that AoU won't win over many people who disliked the first Avengers.
I'm usually quite good at picking up and understanding why people dislike films but with The Avengers and Guardians I really cannot fathom it. Whilst I understand issues with the films they're just so relentlessly charming and fun that I cannot see how someone could have a negative attitude towards it.Something tells me that AoU won't win over many people who disliked the first Avengers.
I think that subjective charm is the key. Some people aren't charmed by it at all and therefore can't understand why others find it endearing.I'm usually quite good at picking up and understanding why people dislike films but with The Avengers and Guardians I really cannot fathom it. sucks for themA lot of the blog reviews I've found say the movie is nonstop quips (in a good way). Sounds great for Whedon fans and fans of the first Avengers but it seems no one is going to change their mind about his dialogue.

Evans and Hemsworth should always do interviews together (no spoilers, just an interview that gets wholly derailed)
Man, it's been ages since I've been to Forbidden Planet.
Weird. The 3D in the first Avengers movie was totally harmless.
Mine is too far to consider a pre-cinema visit. I should go there soon, though. Gonna check out their Marvel Legends stockI always go before the cinema, usually buy a few comics and a funko
on iphone, camt read the text in op
Same here. What theater are you going too? My AMC one doesn't put up their non 3D showings until like 3 days before opening day.Ugh, my local theatre where you can pick seats still hasn't put up their non 3D showings on Fandango yet for opening night![]()
I remember it being annoyingly dim in my viewing, though I feel like that may be the fault of whoever was responsible for projection at the theatre.
