Balrog is going to be in the Street Fighter V June update on Friday

Fact that nothing is being done for rage quitting is ridiculous. Multiple RQers tonight and it's drained me out and I can't even be bothered playing anymore.
If Ibuki is going to be as annoying as she was in 4, I hope she is, RQing will get a lot worse.
Capcom pls.

Didn't they put in a RQ fix?

Can someone tell me why people even like arcade mode beyond the most facile argument of "it was there before and now it's not"?

It's just VS AI matches (don't get me wrong - VS AI should be in on its own). This game doesn't even have an arcade release. Basically any other single player mode is preferable to arcade mode.
While I agree with you, adding it won't cost them anything for a basic mode gamers want.

They already did something about rage quitting and they said they'll improve it even more.

And it has helped. They said something like a 60% decrease in RQing. I know from my experience that I haven't had much rage quits lately.

So from what I understand the story mode will have two difficulties, and I'd imagine will reward you with some FM. I'm hoping there's a nice chunk for beating it on hard and more importantly that it's actually a challenge. I want to see rage inducing Shin Bison.

If the ai is bad like survival mode, why do people want an arcade mode? Sure i want more was to get fight money but if the ai is garbage no need.

30K for beating normal and 50K for beating hard iirc.

30k FM on normal difficulty, 50k FM on extra difficulty

This was mentioned about Balrog's story in SFV.

Balrog plotting something with Urien. Look forward to finding out their connection in the Cinematic Story Mode.
Sounds like that Illuminati pin found on Balrog in the silhouette image may have actually meant something (I.E. Balrog jumping ship from Shadaloo to the Illuminati).

"Won't cost them anything" is the most ignorant statement when it comes to any kind of development.

It may not cost as much as, say, making a World Tour Mode. But any new feature requires tons of coding, at least some art, and TONS of testing.

Also remember that this is the company that, when faced with the issue of the name "M.Bison" possibly being grounds for a lawsuit, chose to shuffle three names around rather than redrawing the name tag...

exclusive story leaks
:P

" My boss is a complete idiot who creates overly complicated completely redundant world take over schemes always involving switching bodies, and it always fails because the bodies just run the fuck away. My coworkers consist of a dumbass overly confident "matador" who keeps simping out to one of main adversaries, and some new guy who is.. i'm pretty sure, all Chinese stereotypes. Along with us just getting defeated every 4 years or so , so loosing financial stability over and over. You know how I got paid last time that happened , I stole bison's money "

" you sound like you had a rough time "

" What can you offer me "

" We have infinite money, political influence, and people of both genders who basically walk around naked"

" I'm into everything you just said. What do I have to do? "

" Do what you normally do , punch. Just be a distraction "

Balrog grinned

Know what I would like to see going forward? At least, I think it would be a nice idea.

Online Seasons.

Instead of bringing in Arcade or whatever, made something everyone can enjoy. So basically, seasons would last like a 1-2 months per seasons. You are placed into either Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum leagues depending on where you are ranked at the start of the season. Then, once it starts, you compete in the season to try to get to the top of the tier you are in. During the season, you will also earn SP (season points) that can be spent on goodies determined per tier. Tier exclusive costumes, items, colors, etc. Which would also ensure that people continue to play to increase their tier as the better the tier you are in, the better the goodies you can possibly get. Winner of the tier at the end of the season gets exclusive title, profile border or whatever.

I think it would be great and something everyone can enjoy. \o/

This would be good, but they have a lot of other things they need to do first.

Pretty sure that's the eagle on his boxing glove.

It's not an eagle, it's the Shadaloo emblem. It doesnt look like what we saw on his teaser silhouette, it really looked like some Illuminati eye.
In the context of the fall of Shadaloo, Boxer betraying Dictator could make sense, even more so if Urien offers him money, since Capcom stressed that he loves money/gold (金) on his character profile.

Tip: level up some, RQ are less and less likely the higher up in skill you get where people generally stop conceding themselves with points.

Also I hope Capcom revamps the leveling system. Not just to play against same skill people, but to also reward people both online and off who play the game often. Targets are needed ASAP.

You have no idea how games are made if you actually think that making a new mode doesnt cost anything (no matter how trivial the mode sounds to you)

How would I enjoy that? I don't like playing against others online

That's like the most e-sports thing Capcom can do for SF5.

I hate it.
and love it at the same time.

Certainly a good idea, but the rewards system seems a bit iffy to me, personally. Locking away potential goodies based on your skill level just seems off to me. Even the extra colors from 11-onwards are unlocked based on how much you play, not how well you play (though winning matches certainly speeds it up).

They'll probably add a "league pass" so you can even participate in it though, Capcom isn't a charity.

Since I reached Silver I've had way more rage quits than before. Previously, I'd say it was rarely a problem for me, though I did notice a decrease nonetheless around the time they announced they'd be cracking down, so I'm not saying what they've done so far has been worthless.

However, I still think they should implement a zero tolerance policy. If you disconnect, you lose. The points lost by innocent people who have legit internet trouble will be far outweighed by the points gained if rage quits are stopped 100%.

Capcom should start ignoring the competitive scene and focus on the majority of their fanbase when deciding what to include in the game because the interests of this tiny minority aren't the same than the ones of the other 99% of their userbase.

They already ruined the game removing the Arcade Mode and focusing the game on competitive multiplayer.

If they add stage hazards the competitive scene should stop being squareminded and to learn to play the game as it is.

It can be implemented in a subtle way that would add another layer of strategy, making the game less repetitive and more fun.
You're......you're joking.......right?

I like to think that the fight judges are at the Kanzuki beach because Karin has them in her pocket.

Karin, being perfect, would have every angle covered.

My guess would be that they want to make sure the online is implemented flawlessly before they go about doing the disconnect = loss thingy. So maybe we'll see it after this patch coming up, assuming all goes well with it. That being said, I don't remember the last time I've personally been disconnected from the server due to connection issues from their end so my guess is they aren't that far off.
