Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

HOW DID THEY NOT SEE THIS COMING? That's the baffling part. Did they not watch Man of Steel? I just don't get it.

WB loves...keeping the golden goose happy for some directors.

Remember that this is the same studio that allowed the wachowski to make the Jupiter movie

There won't be a next time.

This could be it.
This won't be it, this film will still make a shitton of money but many fans will be burnt. I really hope flash looks good though in fact what are people saying about flash in regards to his appearance in the film.

Not too surprised, but I'll still see it. I liked MoS a lot more than most critics (and most of the public judging by this thread), so I still have an open mind about this one.

they start shooting JLA in like weeks right?

im not pissed at this cause it looked bad from the get go, im just really pissed that now we're "stuck" in it.

start over

get good people

Yeah no way in hell Snyder's gonna do Justice League. I'm willing to bet Warner execs are freaking out in their board room right now.

if the rumours are true WB/DC already knew the movie was a mess months ago, so I'm assuming they'll wait and see how it does @ box office before they do anything drastic... if it's a commercial blockbuster (like the Transformer movies) in spite of being a critical failure they won't give a fuck. LOL

The humor in all of this is any fan or critic who pulls the "superhero movies are tired and worn-out!" card when we all know full well that those same critics will likely rave over Civil War in a month and a half.

the only thing im wondering about is what they'll do next, cause now their whole universe is built upon this thing and the previous equally bad thing

Avengers built upon the totally bland Hulk, Thor and Captain America movies and turned out fine (although that one also had a shimmer of hope with Iron Man).

WB probably doesn't even care about the reviews unless it results in poor legs and ticket sales overall.

Of course they do. If the audience also has a negative reaction to the film, then it affects the audiences willingness to see future films in this franchise.

It's fucking absurd. I thought when Affleck came on board with his guys they were going to make some serious improvements. Apparently that's not the fucking case.

maybe cause critics like good movies

russo good

snyder bad

I aint seeing any of the "superhero movies are tired and worn out!" in these, tho. At all.

Some have mentioned/raised the same complaints as they did with MoS, either they don't get MoS, or they just haven't understood what's supposed to happen when Batman and Superman come together in a movie. Can't wait to watch the movie on the 24th!

Yup, said this and totally agree. If it's huge like Transformers and POTC movies and fans like them and they do a ton of $, WB probably won't care if critics don't like it and let him still direct JLA.

after they give up begging Affleck to direct it

Now you read the reviews, see the RT score, see all the insults to Snyder ... you'll watch the movie with a lot of prejuges, good luck :)
Hey if it's bad, it's bad. I thought Man of Steel was the worst superhero movie of all time. And I got sucked into the hype for this one even though all of the red flags were there. I still kept a "it has a super high chance of being terrible", but I put my eggs in the basket anyway.

I don't doubt that I'll like it more than most Marvel movies, because I just love DC that much, but I've definitely been tempered.

Maybe you can go into the movie pretending Snyder was given a different movie, LOL.
The positive stuff for me in some of the reviews are things that make me REALLY excited and even some of the negative stuff too (like the no humor thing). If it's like a giant script disaster, I can still enjoy it like I did for The Dark Knight Rises, ASM2, and to a lesser extent Age of Ultron.

Still gonna watch it Day 1, still gonna be super excited for it and even moreso for Suicide Squad. But if it's bad, I will absolutely call it out on being bad.

Of course they do. If the audience also has a negative reaction to the film, then it affects the audiences willingness to see future films in this franchise.
Reviews dont necessarily mean audiences will hate it though. Look at the Transformers series.

lol of course it's shit

movies arent good based on hype, but the people behind them, guys

it's zack snyder

the only thing im wondering about is what they'll do next, cause now their whole universe is built upon this thing and the previous equally bad thing

It doesn't need to be good for that to move forward. It only needs to be profitable. Hollywood has made franchises out of complete piles of shit.

I wonder if DC will be rewarded for making very tonally different movies from one to the next (this is very dark and serious, while Suicide Squad is comical, and Flash will probably be lighthearted, etc), or if it would have been better to go the MCU way and have every movie have the same tone.

I'm having Batman kill is hurting my hype for Batman solo movie
It's the one character in DC you don't fuck up WB

Another case of "they really don't know what the fuck they're doing". This isn't mechanical web shooters vs organic. This is a massive part of who Bruce Wayne is.

It's so weird I thought a movie called Batman V Superman would be really hard to mess up. I don't know why they'd bother introducing all the other characters and shit.

If you were to remove all the Justice League stuff and Wonder Woman herself, you're only on your way to this being a good movie.

Avengers built upon the totally bland Hulk, Thor and Captain America movies and turned out fine (although that one also had a shimmer of hope with Iron Man).

Iron Man was a gamble and it was insanely succesful

it's very, very different from this

this is a stinker after another stinker, with many future stinkers attached to them

all with the same people

MCU movies had different directors. directors like favreau rather than the Sucker Punch guy.

etc etc

Snyder is crap and they said "give him everything yea sure he's running this"

hella dumb
