ehhh kind of...I mean 50% RT means, say for easy math, 100 gave it fresh, 100 gave it rotten. Now the fresh reviews may be a score of around 7 out of 10 where the rottens are around 3 out of 10 so leaning more negative, but 50% RT is still half and half, etc.

That really doesn't happen often though and that's a case of a film being polarizing more so than mixed.

Better than MoS, making fans happy... is negative? Also the term joyless is so subjective, people will find a certain type of joy here. Joy doesn't have to equate to sunshine and rainbows. I get joy out of The Exorcist because it's great and I find joy in that.

You're comparing a muddled Snyder comic book movie that appears to be genuinely leaden to watch to The Exorcist?

C'mon now lets not get crazy with the defence here. No reason not to enjoy BvS for what it is if that's your thing but it's clearly nowhere near a classic film masterpiece in any shape or form (to even consider the dialogue comparatively... just makes Snyder's work seem worse).

It's gonna bomb in ratings and still do a kajillion dollars cause nobody cares what anyone says, it's called Batman v. Superman and it has Wonder Woman in it.

HERE COMES THE DCU

They need to scrap the team behind the upcoming Aqauman movie. It sounds like it will be a complete trainwreck.

To give you a better idea, here are some Rottentomatoes percentages.

Director James Wan

Saw - 48%
Death Sentence - 20%
Dead Silence - 21%
Insidious - 66%
The Conjuring - 86%
Furious 7 - 81%

Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson

Red Riding Hood - 10%
Orphan - 55%
Wrath of the Titans - 25%

Screenwriter Kurt Johnstad

300 - 60%
Act of Valor - 24%
300: Rise of an Empire - 42%

Does this sound like a team that should be involved with Aquaman's first really big movie?

At least James Wan is legit.

People like to forget - most X-Men movies get decent to glowing reviews and they aren't Disney/Marvel properties. X1, X2, FC, DOFP, Deadpool, all over 80%.

Why everyone has been focusing on DC as Marvel's competition is a bit strange now as Nolan was their golden egg and he's gone now.

If Ben Affleck's Batman is the best thing about this movie, that must be quite a victory for him after Daredevil.

Yeah, it is decent at best. As he said. I mean 80% of critics though it was a 6 or better. I fee like its about a 6.

RT gets a little too much credit in the wrong ways. Although I am not surprised this one isn't turning out so hot after MoS. Seems better than that, but how does Affleck feel about being in another hated superhero flick 👀

*sigh*
What's truly maddening is we already GOT a DCU, and not just a good one but a GREAT one. One that understood the characters, understood what made them work, what made them iconic and timeless and awesome.

It's amazing to have so much material already made, a living template to build from, and we didn't even get CLOSE to this.

And that's all I care about, not Batman fighting Superman cause he's a paranoid freak, not Captain America protecting his best friend in a corny ass friendship.

But turtles fighting aliens from dimension x.

I don't even hate Batman in general.

But, BvS invites two fanbases to one movie. The former character shits on the latter character, beats him up, and then
the latter character dies
. That's pretty frickin oppressive to one of the fanbases.

Because everywhere you go on the internet the sounding drums of 'Superman is boring' seems to have resonated with WB and thus they're pretty much nixxing him and putting Batman front and center.

Batman Wolverine'd his way into the new JL now.

huh, wonder what you'd be saying had the reviews been positive

Oh I wasn't totally in love with the movie. There were a few things that bugged me, and there was one thing that I completely hated, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

If these reviews were positive, we'd at least have some form of discussion about things. Instead, everyone's just eating all these pull quotes and memes.

Well this is devastating news, got IMAX tickets with my friends and we've all been hyped. I feel more gutted in the sense that this pretty much kills my dreams for the DCCU. I love Marvel's films, but DC has always been the superhero pantheon for me, and now I'm just sad that we'll probably never see them in full glory.

Well, I'll go in with no expectations; I really liked Man of Steel, so perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised.

This is absolutely 100% how I feel. It was perfect and beloved. And we just can't seem to see a live action version of it.

This series still holds up very well. One of my all time favorites

People are getting tired of Superhero movies not because of the quantity but the quality of shitty films like this, it was obvious the movie was going to suck, hopefully word of mouth spreads and it doesn't have long legs.

as much as ppl shit on MoS, gaf included i waited about a year after release and was really surprised on how much i liked it.. im not even a superman fan either. so ill just go see this an not expect anything... if its a little better than Avengers 2 ill be happy...

Uh oh. Snyder may have blew it.

If it underperforms, where do they go? Just cancel everything lined up and do it all over again in five years?
