Ant-Man has a solid 80% on RT

miss me with these meaningless RT comparisons. this is likely not a good movie though i'll give you that. i'm not willing to give snyder the benefit of the doubt that i do other directors who have had 30-50% bombs on RT.

You're comparing a muddled Snyder comic book movie that appears to be genuinely leaden to watch to The Exorcist?

No. I was talking about the definition of joy. I'm not being defensive over BVS. I haven't seen it. I'm saying it seems as though some critics are calling it joyless, probably in that it has little humor/color, but that "joy" can come in many forms. I find joy in watching a fantastic film like The Exorcist, not that The Exorcist's content is joyful. BVS can be joyful in its own way.

All of these damning reviews make me just extremely sad. I had been eagerly awaiting this film since it was announced and now I'm thinking of canceling my tickets for thursday.
I never expected it to be an oscar-worthy master piece by any means. I just wanted to see a bunch of the most iconic super heroes in a well-made and entertaining film, but it seems to be an unwatchable mess. Ugh. The overwhelming schadenfreude by some of you guys in this very thread doesn't make it any better.

That's a pity. I'm no fan of Snyder and expected this more or less but blame can't be all on him. WB should have seen the problems years ago. Still, the film will make loads of money, I hope the other DC Universe films fare better.

This is absolutely 100% how I feel. It was perfect and beloved. And we just can't seem to see a live action version of it.
The Arrowverse has long surpassed it in my eyes. It's not as big as I'd like it to be, but I'm gonna be on that gravy train until I die!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a treat for the eyes, but it will hurt your brain and break your heart.
Pretty much my exact expectations. Just hope that Batman isn't fucked up in the movie and that Snyder isn't involved in the solo movie.

Yeah, it is decent at best. As he said. I mean 80% of critics though it was a 6 or better. I fee like its about a 6.

RT gets a little too much credit in the wrong ways. Although I am not surprised this one isn't turning out so hot after MoS. Seems better than that, but how does Affleck feel about being in another hated superhero flick 👀

It looks like he comes out great judging by what people are saying about him. The dude is a two time oscar winner. He'll be fine.

Bless up for this post. Affleck is probably shitting bricks right now, the superhero curse is real with that one.

the batman solo movie redemption needs to happen asap.

They need to scrap the team behind the upcoming Aqauman movie. It sounds like it will be a complete trainwreck.

To give you a better idea, here are some Rottentomatoes percentages.

Director James Wan

Saw - 48%
Death Sentence - 20%
Dead Silence - 21%
Insidious - 66%
The Conjuring - 86%
Furious 7 - 81%

Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson

Red Riding Hood - 10%
Orphan - 55%
Wrath of the Titans - 25%

Screenwriter Kurt Johnstad

300 - 60%
Act of Valor - 24%
300: Rise of an Empire - 42%

Does this sound like a team that should be involved with Aquaman's first really big movie?
The Conjuring and Furious 7 are legit great movies. The first Saw and Insidious aren't that bad either.

He's better than Snyder.

*sigh*
What's truly maddening is we already GOT a DCU, and not just a good one but a GREAT one. One that understood the characters, understood what made them work, what made them iconic and timeless and awesome.

It's amazing to have so much material already made, a living template to build from, and we didn't even get CLOSE to this.

That's great..........................for TV.

Well, most marvel films tend to get above 70% in those site, and they are all below average and simple products.

I think Marvel has set up a format of super heroe movie and deviations from that stuff tend to be not well recieved.

That and I really liked Man of Steel, so maybe im the one with shitty taste and not reviewers.
I'm guessing it's this.

This is one of those movies where I had only marginal interest and didn't think it looked great, but still expected it to review better than this. I thought it would be at least 60%. Bummer.

Not even a "so bad it's entertaining" vibe ala Gods of Egypt (which actually was entertaining, for that reason).

This makes me insurmountably happy, and I say that as a DC comics fan.

It was never going to be fantastic, and if not that I'm glad I'm getting a dud. I can't wait to walk out of the cinema after watching the movie, shaking my head in disbelief.

Wan looks like he's improving as a filmmaker and I'll put my trust in him, but the screenwriters do make me nervous

I'll probably enjoy this more than most other super hero movies, not because the movie is great on all fronts but the subject matter will probably be taken more seriously and there's less wit overall with the script. It's why I still like Man of Steel despite its flaws because it branched out and did something different that wasn't bright, "fun", and full of one liners.

there's no way they won't react to this btw

there were already reports from higher ups, rumors errywhere

JLA is either delayed or facing some timely changes

We are already at "bu bu bu Marvel is worse" already?

This thread has to last a while guys, don't burn all your ammo yet.
I think we're getting past the ONLY MARVEL FILMS REVIEW WELL stage as people keep pointing out that the Nolan films reviewed well, too

I'm not sure there's much else but to accept that this might be a mess. Possibly a fun mess, but a mess nonetheless
